This is a very small auditorium in a neighborhood that resembles a high school auditorium, but it's much larger than what you'd expect to see in a high school, except with the same seating. Walking in, there's a very small lobby area with an old theatre style counter that serves beer and popcorn. The acoustics here were just OK. The logistics of the inside are somewhat odd, but it's small enough to easily get around. It's got a rundown art deco look to it. Overall - Not a bad spot to watch a concert, but after an hour and a half, I was done with that seat, so we left early and didn't watch the ending of the concert.

Hernan and Anita are friendly, and funny, they are true students of human movement and tango technique, and they passionately impart their knowledge, and their skill onto each of students, no one is left without an advice and personal attention at every group lesson. Tango is an amazing dance, and a beautiful journey that is enjoyable from the first day. Hernan and Anita are always there to guide you, to make a confident, caring, musical and inventive dance partner. That Hernan and Anita teach tango here is truly a gift the Boston area community. After several years studying with them I feel like they are family. Beside classes, Hernan and Anita organize a weekly social dance party, Milonga Ideal. It is a warm laid back event that welcomes dancers of every level. with cozy tables, friends chatting to each other, great floor, subdued lighting and inspiring guest DJs. Hernan and Anita take care to dance with many, many guests, and not just their students.T ango regulars know that this is rarity a at any studio. In only a couple of months this milonga has attracted a number of wonderful and generous dancers, both followers and leaders. For me its home base, a party to which I come to dance, and to be with "my people". A very nice dancer, with whom I frequently share a dance at many milongas posted a sharply negative review. I was there that evening, and I think what happened was an frustrating unfortunate exception, born of several regrettable coincidences. There is never an obligation to dance with anyone, but she is right - I understand that one comes to a place with many unfamiliar faces, hospitality from the "regulars" is called for. Several dancers at the milonga, including myself usually make it a point to dance with the new faces, but I have lapsed that night - perhaps because this dancer was sitting a bit separately from the other dancers, or perhaps the sangria was a bit strong. I hope that she gives Milonga Ideal another chance.

She does not encourage students during lessons, but rather insults and embarrasses them with demeaning comments. Multiple students have complained about this treatment. There's an overall unfriendly atmosphere during milongas and lessons, especially if you are a newcomer. Also, the lessons and milongas are extremely expensive. You can have a much better experience at other places in the area and not have to spend so much money. There's too much emphasis on "business" and profit-making as opposed to creating a friendly, welcoming environment for dancers.

I went to the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)'s Loeb Drama Center for a performance of…read moreRhinoceros two weeks ago with my husband and a couple of friends. A.R.T. was founded in 1980, and it's been an important professional, not-for-profit theater since its founding. It's gone lots of Tony awards and other theater accolades to show for it. Our experience was great. The play was outstanding. It was a treat to see that cast in such a unique, timely play. The theater was intimate, and there's not a bad seat in the house. The line for the bar and bathrooms wasn't bad. And it just felt like a special theater experience. A.R.T. is moving soon - to a new theater: the David E. and Stacey L. Goel Center for Creativity & Performance in Allston. While I think it's too bad that the theater's new location won't be as accessible by public transportation (it's now just a short walk from Harvard station), but I'm sure it will be beautiful facility. I'm glad I got to see this incredible production in Loeb Drama Center before they move in 2027! A special and unique place for theater if you're lucky enough to find yourself in Boston. If you can go see Rhinoceros before it closes, you should!

Every seat I've sat in has had a great view of these high-quality productions. I appreciate that you are given a physical program, but you scan the QR code for the full program. The staff are all friendly and happy to help. They offer a nice selection of snacks and drinks to purchase that you can bring into the theater. They also validate parking at the information desk after you scan your ticket. There's plenty of great restaurants nearby to have dinner at before an evening show - I try a new one each time I visit the ART. Plus, cannolis from Mike's Pastry are nearby, so no need to travel to the North End!
