K-9 Meadows Boarding and Spa

I cannot understand why more clients have not commented on this excellent, caring facility! From…read morethe first day K-9 Meadows opened, I have intrusted my very dear Lexi (9-year-old chocolate lab) to their care. And now, Finn, our 4-month-old chocolate lab(fondly referred to Satan"s Spawn) has joined Lexi at doggy daycare. Although I have hired a trainer, the staff has taken it upon themselves to reinforce his training during his stay. What a difference! I have personally gotten to know the entire staff and I can say, without a doubt, they are the nicest and most competent people to oversee the care and well-being of their charges. Devin is an exceptional groomer. She treats every dog with special care and attention. Jay and his staff are ever ready to play with each individual dog. Each new dog is carefully screened for temperment and how they may interact with other dogs. Based on each assessment, each animal is paired with other dogs of like temperment, age and size. In addition, each dog enjoys its own huge run with temperature controlled indoor accomodations. I particularly like the large, natural grass play area. Every time I go to pick them up, one of the staff is actively playing with a resident one-on-one or no more than 2 or 3 other pups at the same time. This is individual, special care! I hope who ever reads this will visit Devin, Jay or one of the special staff members and see for themselves why K-9 Meadows is head-and-shoulders above the rest!

Rippling Water Kennel - Macon County German Shepherd Rescue and "Nose" the S&R dog with our found after 3 days in the wild pup, Lady. Love them!

Rippling Water Kennel

Long long story short: We had taken our dogs to this kennel an hour away from our home, since local…read morekennels were full during spring break. Within an hour of returning home after drop off, we were informed one of our dogs escaped and we had to go back to try and call her back. We decided to leave our other dog there for her to track back to. After 3 days of the stress of her being gone in the wild, and after numerous social media posts of her missing, our family friends who run the Macon County German Shepherd Rescue and their S&R dog "Nose" tracked her down and rescued her... a second time. This same rescue had rescued our pup and her siblings when they were abandoned babies. The kennel workers DID attempt to help in various ways, even driving to our home to retrieve a scent article for the rescue dog. They even refunded the fee for the escaped pup and brought our other dog to our house when we returned home. All ended fine. A special thanks to ALL who responded, put out flyers and attempted to search for her. We have a great local community! Please DO NOT contact this particular kennel with negative comments. This likely was an accidental event and they seemed to attempt to do what they could, despite all the stresses involved. Thanks to them for their attempts to lure her back. Again, please DO NOT bother the kennel with any negativity reactions, they attempted to do what they could. Thanks.

Rippling Water Kennel is a hidden gem! My husband and I traveled for 2 weeks and had to board our…read moredog, Meg. I was very concerned about boarding her for that long, but we went to see Rippling Water and it was clear that the animals there were being well taken care of. David talked us through everything, explained their philosophy that they let dogs be dogs, why they do not let them mix with unfamiliar dogs, and the routine that Meg would have. Most of this I already knew as I had read up on their web page and checked their reviews. I felt very reassured that they were good people that were more than capable of caring for our Meg. Peggy and David's grandchildren helped at the kennel while Meg was boarded there. They sent me pictures of Meg in the play yard with the boys giving her lots of love. I could tell from the pictures that she was content and happy. They also were very responsive and reassuring when I would check on how she was doing. I always got a follow-up picture as well. I have had to leave Meg for a few days at another kennel for work trips, and we always had to let her adjust back to being home and feeling secure that we weren't leaving her again. This time was like we never left, there were no noticeable adjustments that she had to go through when she returned home. She was not on our heals for every turn we took. As a matter of fact, when we got back from our trip and picked-up Meg, she was better behaved and adjusted than when we left her. Peggy and David know dogs and dog behavior, and they do what is best for them, which I attribute to routine and predictable times for needs to be met. We will only use Rippling Water to kennel Meg in the future.
