Since the 'regular' lenses in the spare pair would look like milk bottle bottoms, right? Well, I can't blame the saleslady entirely, I did fall for this rubbish. When both pairs were presented to me, I inspected them, and yes, there was a discernible difference between the two sets of lenses. Just. Maybe. If you had a microscope handy. Don't fall for it. Or maybe just buy elsewhere.

It's also reasonably cheap - they do good value contact lens packages that include regular checkups, and they often have good deals on glasses, such as buy one get one free. As it's a chain, it's also easy to get care when in other parts of the UK. This particular branch has most of its examination rooms upstairs, but there are a couple downstairs, so it's fine for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The one problem I have with it is that they send me absolutely loads of mail, telling me about new offers and reminding me loads of times when I'm due for another checkup, which is annoying.

The staff are really approachable and discuss all the lense options available and which lenses will work best for you. They also sell glasses and there are some nice designer ones. You can get a discount if you buy new prescription glasses alongside ordering contact lenses. I've had no problems whatsoever and will continue to use there services.

The staff member had average knowledge to help offer some advice regarding the recurring problem I am having with my new frame. The store's layout is typical of any Vision Express location, but it also has an upper level, which I presume they use for eye testing/offices. The selection of glasses was reasonable, again I've seen better at other Vision Express locations but still had reasonable choices. Appointment availability does seem to be a little difficult to obtain, especially as you go later into the day. 3*

What a super opticians they are too. Firstly, the staff seem to really know what they are talking about. That's always a plus, especially as I'm new to the world of glasses and felt the need to be eased in gently. So armed with an eye inspection and the impending doom of said results, I then had a look at the stock. Marvellous! I was actually getting to like this needing glasses business! Stack upon stack of designer frames. We're not talking low end budget but we're talking cool, classy and sophisticated. Real cutting edge designers and painfully cool frames and I was a happy bunny once again. It's not the most sexy thing in the world sorting out eye issues and the like but they really made it as pleasurable and pain free as could be hoped for and then some. Spent a packet but it's worth that alone if they can make me look anything near respectable and intelligent.

With many a designer frame and opticians dressed to kill in sleek black you'll feel like a star when you are going to get your eyes check and pick a pair frames. I couldn't say whether I thought one or the other was better, really, with the possible exception that Extras has now increased in size in Leeds city centre. However, the theme is the same. Girls Night Out (which oh so frustratingly is sans apostrophe - which almost makes it an imperative, and that makes me chuckle every time I think about it!) is an absolutely jam-packed little shop of accessories, situated within the Crossgates shopping centre. In here you can expect to find all the fluorescent leg warmers, huge false eyelashes, cheap make-up, fancy tights, crazy wigs, ra-ra skirts, star print scarves, hair extensions and other related accessories that you could need. The staff seemed to be nice, although I didn't stop for long, lest I *became* an accessory myself. The glitter and glitz, albeit plastic and tat, is really that overpowering. Not hugely my style, but utterly cheap and perfect for a dress up - though, don't go overboard, as you will look as cheap as their prices!

The man behind the till kept humming though. And not the same tune that was playing out the speakers. I managed to somehow get 6 cans of right guard for the price of one as they were on both BOGOF and 3 for 2 at the same time although I expect this was glich. I will certainly be popping in more often to check the special offers.
