Great price I've never had a complaint about my hair on my service. Would that be said they need to work on better time? I can hear from my appointment on time and on. I've been waiting 20 minutes and it's just us now it's every single time I put in a weight and weight and weight with my appointment at 9:30. I should be taken back by 9:35 not have the people come in at 9:30. It would also be considered to have your employees park somewhere else besides when the clients by myself and I don't care but I see the older people struggling because they have to park halfway parking lot. My time is my time and my time for specific reason of that being said and because I'm still waiting now 25 minutes I will come back. I will pay the high price of my hair hairdresser to be seen. I made an appt and I checked in on time... I waited approximately 45 mins before I was told no one had been available for my scheduled appointment. Then was told it would be another 15 mins or so before anyone would be available to work on my hair. The stylist/receptionist didn't apologize or even offer an explanation as to why my appointment was pushed back an hour. read more

The absolute WORST hair experience of my life. I left in tears after my entire head of hair was chopped off despite me asking for a simple trim of each layer based on what I had received 7 months ago. There was no supervision and even after I told the leader that my hair was uneven, choppy and 6 inches shorter than what I asked for, nothing was done. Mya did her best trying to fix it but the damage was already done. I left extremely upset and you're damn right I refused to pay and was told they would call the police on me and forced me to write a statement after being chased out by 4 students/teachers there screaming at me in the damn parking lot. Telling me I should have made a bigger deal about it like it was MY fault! I told the leader and she did nothing! What else was I supposed to do? It took me years of vitamins and treating my hair properly and overcoming hair loss due to severe trauma to get my hair grown back long and they butchered my whole head. AND the color job doesn't even cover my gray hair! I will never EVER go back and recommend to anyone reading this to find a reputable salon instead with experienced leaders who know how to guide their students properly. The student is not to blame I asked the supervisor for highlights they did not do highlights, they made my hair, darker red/orange. The supervisors are incompetent. Student is not to blame. She did everything she was told to do, her supervisor was out of line and had no ability to do hair. I called Paul Mitchell to ask for products used because I needed to go to a new stylist to fix my hair. They would not give me a list of the products that you used and they never called me back when I asked to speak to the supervisor. If I could give zero stars I would. The goal of this appointment was to add a few highlights, and to even out the lightness around my head. My hair is damaged and the color is COMPLETELY WRONG... I didn't ask for a color I asked for highlights. The teachers and supervisors are to blame. Terrible incompetence on staff behalf. Poor customer service. No accountability. I have been to other Paul Mitchell schools and had good experiences. This school has incompetent teachers and supervisors. I do not recommend trusting them with your hair. Unfortunately worst experience ever. My hair is dry and broken now and my head hurts from all the chemicals they kept using to fix it. I was really excited to go back to a PM school, so that's why I'm disappointed I have to leave a bad review. They messed up my color and later admitted it was because of lack of time. But they sure charged me for it. It was a balayage, but there was bleeding all over, it was super yellow instead of blond and there were patches that were a completely different color then the rest. It took a total of 11 hours(!!) split over 2 days to do and fix my hair and they charged me extra for fixing their mistakes on top of the $90 I already paid. There's also no communication about prices or procedures. It seems like the teachers don't have the right knowledge and/or don't care a lot, the students just don't care and they let students perform really difficult techniques that they don't even know yet, what resulted in my hair being messed up. The students I had even said they didn't know what they were doing. I got a 'hair cut' aka they cut less then 0.5 inch of my hair and didn't do it per layer or anything. It was done within 3 minutes and they charged me for it. They don't use products after chemically treating your hair to calm your hair and scalp, they style hair without any heat protection and they just don't take care of hair with love. I actually had to ask them to protect my hair from the heat of the tools I get it are students, but I thought Paul Mitchell students would be better then the average student. In the end I paid a lot of money and they didn't even try to make me feel happy. It's a shame, cause my former experience 5 years ago was really good (PM school in PA), but from now on I'd rather spend a little more for a good hair dresser read more

I wish I could give this zero stars. My girlfriend got her hair cut here last night and they did a horrible job. It took THREE HOURS for a simple hair cut. They made her hair completely uneven, and way to thin. Then a more experienced stylist tried to fix it and ended up making it worse. Now one side of her hair is about an inch and half shorter than the other, it's too thin, and uneven. She has been crying all night and is incredibly regretful about getting her hair cut. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Saving $30 is not worth the extra $60 it will cost you to get it fixed by someone who has touched a pair of scissors before. I wish I could give no stars. I had applied to attend evening classes and was told I was ok to start today which is 2/28/22. However I haven't heard anything from the school so I reached out the Tuesday before school was scheduled to start to receive a email I wasn't accepted. I sent a reply asking why and I never received a reply to my email or multiple phone calls and messages. I'm sitting wondering what happen, however I have no clue. The day I was suppose to start school I get a letter in the mail I was denied with no explanation, just apply again in a year. Let me start off by saying I am well aware this is a student salon and the services are not done by professionals. I have been here a few times and know a few people who come here and never have had a bad experience. But, I had a less than pleasant experience last week. The student was nice, but definitely did not know what she was doing. I brought in a reference picture like last time hoping she or the teacher knew the proper technique to achieve the look. The teacher seemed impressed by her plan and gave her the go ahead. Red flag number one, she asked a question that should have been asked from the beginning and changed her technique about 5 foils in. Red flag number two, I was angled away from the mirror so I could not see what was going on. If I could, I believe I would have asked her to stop. Red flag number three, (I am no hair expert by any stretch of the imagination) but she said she was only going to blend my top layers. Red flag number four, ONE of the two teachers checked on the student twice and should have been able to see the process was not going well. I am not impressed by the supervision or the fact they are even letting this student perform color processes on actual people's hair. By the time I left, 4 hours and 15 minutes into the service I had large patches in the back of my head, VERY harsh lines by my roots looking like my color had grown out instead of blended into my natural color like I asked and dry brittle ends. The student also attempted to blow dry my hair which she obviously had no idea how to properly do (was aggressively tugging at my hair and it was VERY damp when I left.) I thought about going back and attempting to let them fix it but realized I was not crazy enough to let my hair be damaged even more. I have now spent hundreds of dollars and attempting to fix it and it is still not how I wanted and won't be without one more trip to a salon. PLEASE save yourself the time and little bit of money you spend here and go to a real salon with a professional. Though you may spend more money you will be happier and have the result you actually wanted. read more

Hey so I'm a student and I enjoy coming to the school. I actually really enjoy working on clients. I think people need to realize that we are all students and sometimes we get nervous. Especially when people go and complain about our work on social media. We are building confidence and learning how to project that to our clients, even if it's the first time doing said service. Yes we are under the instructors guidance but realize there are a lot of us and only a small handful of them. We all do the best we can. The majority of students WANT to do a good job and make you happy. We realize discoveries will be made and things will not always work out. We will do what we can to make it better. The money portion is out of our control and I know the instructors are good about going over pricing and giving a variable price. It depends on the service and how many bowls of color are used. I had my hair shampooed, cut and blown out at the school. I don't mind that it took an hour and a half to do it. I don't mind the treatment that was put on my hair and scalp. The cut was done properly and corrected the problems that I was having. There is a distinct bit of a problem with the lack of professionalism by some of the students. I'll live with it. So long as my hair is cut properly, I can tolerate that they need to work on attitude and professional manner. read more

While everyone was nice & the student was awesome, the haircut I received last night was nowhere near what I expected from such a well known school. Two instructors wound up coming over to work on my haircut (which wasn't anything crazy.) I was wondering why it was laying weird & I just realized it's because the angle of my hair is cut so wrong. It's long in the front, then goes up, and then dips down the way it is supposed to be. The way they laid my hair last night when done looked fine, but now I see it is messed up. I guess this is what I get for going to a school, but I have gone to others & have gotten fabulous results & I had much higher expectations for this school. My daughter and I used to come here pretty frequently and the fact that we can't get an appointment on a weekend anymore (they've been booked every Saturday for the past month or so) is the only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating. The stylists that I've seen have always been professional and I leave with salon quality hair every time. They even have a rewards program, though I'm not sure how many points I have. They aren't very consistent with talking about it. My only suggestion would be to have more appointments on the weekends. read more

terrible customer service and carelessness!! they tried to cancel my appointment once i arrived and i had to speak to a manager. once i got in the chair they tried to argue about the service i wanted based on a picture i showed them. i asked for a quote and wasn't given one. afterwards i got charged more than double the price of what was listed online. in the middle i could tell the girl was panicking because she left me in her chair too long and they lifted the color till my hair looked bleach blonde. she reassured me a million times that it wasn't the final result and that it would get darker. she spend an hour attempting to cover up her mistake by doing two coats of hair dye. they couldn't finish in time and made me choose between a blow dry or a haircut. i didn't want to leave the salon with sopping wet hair so i got a boy dry which was rush and the girl pulled out so much hair with the round brush. the end result was awful and it looked like two different colors on both sides as you can see from the picture. she also made fun of me for saying i have wavy hair when it was so clearly curly. absolutely do not waste your time or money here. read more

My wife went here to get her hair colored and cut. She went in, told the instructor that she wanted color and bangs cut. The instructor agreed and sat her down with a student to start coloring her hair. The student was very nice, however it took almost 3 hours to get her hair colored. On top of that, when she sat down to get her bangs cut, the instructor flat out refused to cut them because she didn't like the way they would lay. After waiting three hours to get her hair cut, the instructor took 4 snips of her hair and decided that was enough to charge her for a cut. Finally, when she got home, I saw what a sloppy job was done of the coloring. It looked like a 4 year old colored her hair with a 5 inch paintbrush. There was just about as much dye on her neck and face as there was in here hair. Do not go here! read more

This school has been open for only a few years, but it looks so run down. With Paul Mitchell's name on it, you'd expect better quality. As for my hair, my hair stylist student did an okay job. I received an all over color and trim. The color is pretty spotty; I found some spots with the previous color. She also took too much off to be a "trim". Most of the students, I noticed, need to learn some etiquette. I was appalled by their attire and language. My hair stylist student even called her teacher a bitch right in front of me! But behind her back, of course. Highly doubt I'd come back again.. Walked in the school for my appointment at 1:00, and it's 12:50. I wait fifteen minutes and notice there's nobody available, everyone is busy. So I walk to the counter and ask if I still had my appointment for 1:00? The gentleman at the counter says "your daughter started her tour, your here for your daughter, right"? When the teacher spoke up and said "your appointment was at 1:00". I explained I had plans today and didn't want to miss my Commitments. She then began to lecture me on how the person my appointment was with still had a client. I then asked if I could get some type of timeline and that's when she rudely told me "hair has no timeline and she could not". I walked away and couldn't believe how she spoke to someone they would call a "client". Teacher Anita (I believe that to be her name) go back to kindergarten were they teach you to be kind and nice. You could have chosen to speak to me like you wanted to help me, like you were in a position to assist me or my favorite, treat me like I was a paying customer. I came to the salon for a simple haircut. I have a specialty cut planned elsewhere for next month, but my hair was getting way too long and I couldn't wait another month. When I walked in, there was no one at the front desk to greet customers. Actually, that's not entirely true - there were a group of who I think were students crowded around one side of the desk, and nobody looked up. I signed in and was not acknowledged for 15 minutes until I walked up to the desk again to get someone's attention and ask when I would be seen. During this time I caught several students' eyes, and again nobody even said hello or smiled. The student who worked on me had a partner. I thought maybe my student was more advanced and was training the other. Nope, the other student seemed to only be there to gossip with my student. Throughout my haircut, the two students chatted and did not converse with me whatsoever unless the instructor came over and asked me a question. They talked about issues with the sink getting backed up and not draining while my hair was getting washed in that sink. They openly dismissed one of the instructor's methods for cutting hair evenly, and after the instructor showed another technique asked each other if they were listening to what he had to say and essentially guessed, on my hair. My student put way too much styling product in my hair, and applied it by beginning at my roots, which if you read any hair product bottle you should know not to do. I decided to leave after being there for 2 hours for such a simple cut, and when I dried my hair at home discovered an uneven cut with very greasy roots from the product. Bottom line - if you want a cheap haircut, you will get a cheap haircut here, along with cheap service. These students seriously need lessons in customer service along with their training. Next time I need a trim I'll shell out a few more bucks for a stylist who knows what they're doing and will treat me like a person and not a mannequin head. read more

I went to the Paul Mitchell school after I had a bad experience with a salon. They were able to remove the pink highlights out of my hair completely and touch my roots up and leave me with a color I loved. I understand I had to be there a long time for what I wanted done but it was worth it. I don't like that I had to make two separate trips to touch my roots up. But I love this place otherwise and will continue to go to them. The instructors know what they are doing and train the students well. Happy customer! Did I mention you get more bang for your buck? Even though it's a school, you expect better. This review is the same as the others, which I should have read before going! What I explained I wanted and what I got were so off. The 1st student was nice but could not curl, the 2nd student could curl but had a bad attitude. The instructor was no where in site when it was time to review what was done. The color I received was no where near what I asked for & they wanted more $$ to fix it :( The students need more training before they are let loose on "real heads" and those that are weak should be teamed up with those that are not ....plus the supervisor should constantly monitor the floor as long as the patrons are there! Went here for the first time and got my hair highlighted. Overall not a terrible experience. The service took a lot of time (4.5hrs) but I understand everyone is learning and wanted my hair to look good. Everyone was very enthusiastic to do my hair, in total having six people working on it at different times. But the main stylist who did most the work was very friendly and personable and seemed reasonably knowledgeable about what she was doing and only needed little guidance from the experienced stylist/teacher. However I am not entirely happy with the result. My hair looks almost the exact same as it did when I came in. I asked for lots of highlights and showed pictures of almost platinum blonde hair however left with medium blonde/dirty blonde hair. My roots look better but the overall color is not different at all. None of my friends even noticed a difference. Not sure if I will be returning. read more

Overall my haircut turned out well. I went to get a shampoo and condition and cut and dry. The beginning process was fine and the shampoo and condition process didn't take to long. The cut took some time. I was only getting 2 1/2 inches cut off. It felt like a different process than a regular salon I would go to but I understand they're in training. While getting my hair cut I could feel the trainees hands shaking so I understood she was nervous and she seemed a little nervous which kind of made me feel a little nervous. The blow drying process was a little interesting. She would pin it up in sections like you do when you get my hair cut. I have thick hair but when I blow dry my hair it takes about 5-10 mins if I blow dry it regularly and not put it in sections. I had someone waiting outside for me(this was almost 2 hours later) I politely asked to just let the rest of my hair air dry(which was over half of my hair still damp) and she said that's fine. She had to get her trainer to see the finished product and to do any touch ups which was nice. I did explain why I had to leave and she continued to tell me "legally we can't let you leave" I stayed there to let her finish up her work just to not cause any trouble. It just made me wonder what would happen if I just got up and refused to comply? Call the police? Not let me come back? If I had a job to go to or something important and HAD to leave how can they say that? You can't make anyone stay at a hair salon out of their own will because you want to finish up your training with your student? It didn't bother me as much as how long it took to get a cut but because she said I had to stay there and they "legally" couldn't let me leave and was talking to me in a tone like I was 15(maybe because I had no makeup on she didn't realize I was an older woman?lol!). I personally think she should of reworded that and that is why I'm never going back there. If you do decide to go even for a simple haircut I would make sure you have 3+ hours.
