From our first lesson together, and throughout the time I have been taking lessons from him he has made me feel super comfortable, and is good at building me up so I feel confident to go farther, and at the same time constantly challenging me, pushing me to excel. I was quickly impressed with his wealth of information. He has an extensive knowledge about the actual drums themselves, playing drums, and many different genres of music. Brian can educate on a wide spectrum of whatever is it you are wanting to learn when it comes to drumming. He is VERY thorough, VERY patient and VERY helpful. He is reliable as far as scheduling appointments, and showing up on time, and is always prepared. His rate is fair, and B Street Music(the store where he teaches) is an easy location to get to, as well as a great place to buy drumming equipment. ALSO, Brian helped me when purchasing my first drum set, guiding me in the right direction, and even checking craigslist daily to help me find the best deal! I highly recommend him for lessons, whether you are a first time beginner, an advanced drummer and everything in between. Brian ROCKS!!! Literally!

That is Mr. Basker in a nutshell. We have worked with many fine music teachers in the past (piano, flute, choir, etc...), but in terms of passion for what they do, Mr. Basker is at another level. My daughter has been taking flute (and more recently piccolo) lessons from Mr. Basker for over two years now, and she has greatly improved. He possesses a wealth of knowledge about how to prepare for auditions, CMs, etc...and just great insights on how to go about learning the flute or piccolo. He is smart and effective with his lessons...and he's an all-around nice guy. So, no matter where you are in terms of your flute or piccolo skill set, Mr. Basker will be of great help to you on your journey of learning.

Mr. Basker is not only a dedicated, talented musician, but also a great teacher. He is so friendly, kind and easy to work with. He always goes the extra mile to help out with my daughter to prepare for Certificate of Merit and auditions for youth orchestras. When he teaches, he focuses on tone, technique, basic music theory, developing strong practice habits, and musicality. It is rare to find a teacher who is so caring, instills the love of music in a child, and inspires them to do better. I highly recommend Mr. Basker to anyone who is looking for a flute teacher!

Hanne is the rare teacher that can connect with children, help them build technique and musicality, and have fun doing it! Our son has been working with Hanne since he was young, and under her guidance he's grown into a very capable drummer. She has been a drummer and musician since childhood, is professionally trained and has played with some of the best known bands in venues all over the world. She has deep expertise in and can teach a diverse range of musical styles from rock to R&B, blues, jazz and so much more. She is patient, attentive and, above all, deeply invested in helping her students develop as drummers without losing their love and enthusiasm for the art form. Because for Hanna, you're not drumming if you're not having fun and she is such a great teacher because she is always working to keep her students interested and engaged. Hanna accepts students at all ages and skill levels--I was 29 and a beginner when I first started--and she strives to give her students every opportunity to learn and grow. One of the most valuable tools she provides are workshops where you get to learn a song and then play it with a live band. I've participated in several and, as someone who had never played the drums before, this has not only been an incredibly invaluable learning experience, it has enhanced my love of drumming and given me confidence to play with other musicians. Her workshops also serve as a showcase of sorts for how great of a teacher Hanna is because you get to see her other students play as well, many of whom have been with her for many years and have blossomed into amazing drummers in their own rights. I can't say enough about how terrific Hanna is. I feel very fortunate to have her as a teacher and am confident that anyone who chooses her will feel the same way.

I was a little nervous about sending my son off into a room since he's not quite of the age to do that with new people that I haven't gotten a chance to meet yet, but it was actually better for the kids + they had a live zoom feed of the room to watch how it was going. The teacher was really fantastic and understood the assignment and read the room perfectly, well experienced in teaching this age. She helped ease the kids in, offered toys for them for the session, and so on. Made it really interactive and fun. Started off with a singalong asking for participation on how to say hello in different languages which the kids loved, genius. Overall a very high EQ teacher and well structured class agenda, really nailed the teaching and interaction that works well at this age (and frankly any age, in the appropriate form). I was impressed and taking notes. My son had a cheeky grin after the class when he saw me after and couldn't wait to tell me what happened. He is excited for the next class!
