I will never come here again or recommend him to anyone. He moves in slow motion and does not care that him being late infringes on other's time. I find that to be disrespectful and unprofessional. I made an appointment before I talked to someone who suggested that I relieve the pain of a tooth by going to painless Paul Smith! And he lived up to the hype. I have had a few teeth removed and let me tell you, I didn't even feel it coming out and it was a difficult tooth, in the back, at the top. I waited, yes, the good ones are booked up... but it was worth it and this dentist works until all patients are seen. My tooth was removed after 9pm. Take that! read more

Dr. Smith has been my family's oral surgeon for at least three decades. Myself, mom, older sister, nieces and now my daughter have gone to him. He's old so I'll give him somewhat of a pass but he definitely needs to at least hire a younger receptionist. There used to be just one which I think may be his wife. Now there's a slightly younger one and I mean slightly. She's probably in her late sixties. My nine year old daughter needed to get four permanent teeth pulled. They made us come in for a consultation which was a complete waste of time because all he did was show me the teeth he was going to pull. The orthodontist had already showed me and we could have just discussed it the same day as the surgery. When I made the appointment the oldest woman gave me one date and time and when the older lady called to remind me, it was a completely different date and time. Then the older lady called me the day of the appointment the oldest lady gave me to see where we were. A similar situation happened with the date and time of the surgery. The surgery was scheduled for Friday. The older lady called on Wednesday and said she wanted to confirm my appointment for tomorrow. I questioned it and she said "oh yeah, Friday". At that point I just asked her for the date. Fast forward to the day of surgery, the appointment was at 7:00AM. I was really glad because my daughter has anxiety about the dentist so I could just basically grab her out of bed and go. They also have horrible waiting times so by being first I thought we would be in the chair immediately. Well we got there at 6:52AM and no one was there. I called the office and the answering service person said, "yeah he runs late in the mornings". Dr. Smith came in at 7:33AM but didn't let us inside the office room until 7:40. He said good morning and asked how we were but no acknowledgement of his tardiness. By this point my daughter is freaking out. It took my everything not to just leave but I took the day off and didn't want to put her through the agony of anticipating another appointment. Plus she's familiar with Dr. Smith. Few of her baby teeth fell out so he pulled all of those. There have been other hiccups in the past but I've tried to support Dr. Smith because this is a black practice, of history, his kindness, patience and he is truly great at his job. I just can't take the disorganization and lack of consideration any longer. read more

This dentist is AWESOME. He pulled by tooth in less than 3 minutes and I have not had any further problems. Additionally, I took my daughter to have her wisdom teeth pulled, all 4 were pulled in two visits and the experience was spectacular. My friend/co-worker referred me to Dr. Smith and I am so thankful for her. read more

I'm only giving one star because I have too. I read Google reviews which said he was great and maybe he is but what turned me off was the receptionist and my visit. The receptionist during my phone call when making my appointment had a tone of attitude. On my visit things seemed ok but when they called me back Dr. Smith was not ready and I found that unprofessional. Then not only was he not ready I realized he was still working on another patient going back and forth. While going back and forth he only acknowledged me once. On his second trip back to my room I then noticed he had on his gloves which told me that your touching things and working on that's persons mouth which I felt unsanitary. Then as I tried to patiently wait I look and notice the floor and around my chair it was a black sticky substance that could not be cleaned obviously, then I see most of the equipment is old and out dated, so after close to 40 minutes of waiting in my room while he was across the room working my gut told me to run. Yes I have medicaid so I will try to get my own dental plan so I can go where I feel the staff is professional and practices cleanliness. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more
