Dr. Aaron Hilton performed surgery yesterday, and he did an outstanding job! He makes sure the…read morepatient knows what he will do, what he has done, and what to expect in the near future. He has a good bedside manner. When I was concerned about swelling after surgery, he saw me in his Lexington office the same day. When I couldn't swallow well yet, he asked if I could eat yogurt. Since I am allergic to milk, I did buy coconut yogurt. Just want to make those with lactose intolerance or allergies to milk aware there are alternatives to milk based products, including soy and cashew yogurt. I buy sugar free. His team of nurses, anesthesiologists and ultrasound personnel did a wonderful job! They are very personable, caring, and professional! In my opinion, this is the doctor to see for ENT, and this is the team you want in the operating room. They all represented Prisma Health well! However, post-op the nurse kept yelling at me, "You've got to wake up!" "What month is it?" "February." "No, she shouted, March!" What month is it?" "February." "No" March." She sat watching the monitor, impatient. "You gotta wake up." Sorry, I couldn't and I finally said, "Just get me out of here" because she wanted me gone! Next bed out in the other room my husband and staff were wonderful! I tried to get up and my arms were flailing. I couldn't control them, "Oh no," the staff said. You must wait. I wasn't awake. I've had this problem in the past and was told it's just too much anesthesia. So, I didn't mention it to the staff. But it was impolite to say the least to keep yelling at me. When I went back for swelling, I asked for antibiotics. Since my white blood cell count was high at MUSC ER. Dr. Hilton said it would go away, but it didn't. Urgent Care said "Go back" and gave me medication for inflammation from the surgical intubation and said I needed imaging because he felt something hard. Dr. Hilton believed I had a recent scope maybe somewhere else? It was from the surgery. However, he gave me a refill on the one medication, but forgot the other, and antibiotics. He said I don't need to follow up. But it is still an abnormal collection of fluid and blood, which could be a hematoma that needs draining. So, I said, "Unless this doesn't go away." He said sure, but he is so busy. I waited an hour and 37 minutes, but I understood; he treats a lot of children, and there were babies, one really was needing his help; however, I wish he'd follow up until this lump resolves. He would drain it if necessary, and I followed up if I determined I needed it. Yet, overall, Centa deserves five stars. Nobody's perfect! But this surgeon is close it.

Dr. Giles and Staff have always look out for our well being whether for my Grands or for myself. The quality of care and thoughtfulness of appointments and care checking you in then getting you back in a timely matter. Most of all I appreciate them still being an independent office and hope it will always stay in that position. Thankful for this Practice, Ben E Glover
