As expected, everything here is slightly modified due to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic…read more Masks are required, temperature checks performed on every entry, and social distancing is enforced. There are chairs in the hallway at least six feet apart, and there is a small outdoor porch just a short distance down the hall if you want to get outside while you wait. The lobby/waiting room is open for seating again, but it is very limited and spaced apart, and I just prefer not to wait inside. While inside, there is a plexiglass partition at the reception desk and jars with clean and dirty pens for signing receipts available. If you're getting an injection, you no longer walk into that small space, but instead, there is a table just inside the door with all of the necessary items and the phlebotomist administers shots there. When seeing the doctor, you still have to go to the back, but the rooms are separate and well maintained. I am here at least monthly, and have had no issues so far. If you need these services, this office is a good option.

So far so good. This is the 2nd allergist that I've been to in the area, hoping to figure out what…read moreit is that I'm allergic to. A previous attempt by another allergist was inconclusive after a patch test. Doc Gerber was very knowledgeable and took time to explain things to me about what the best options would be, and what the other options could be. Although some big words were used, I understood most of what she was saying, and a follow up was scheduled to perform the patch test. Check-in was easy, and as it was my first visit, it took a little bit longer to gather all of my pre-filled information, but nothing to complain about. Comfortable waiting area with a small TV set to a semi-popular TV show that held my attention while I waited. It appears that regulars who come to visit can check in at a kiosk with a card, which makes the visit all the more time sensitive. I'll update more as time goes on, but my overall first impression was pretty decent. Now, let's go find out what's wrong with me! :-)

I had a very frustrating experience with National Allergy & ENT - Mt. Pleasant. My husband and I…read moredrove for 30 minutes to make it to our scheduled appointment, after he had taken time off from work. Just as we were almost at the location, we received a call from the office--15 minutes before our appointment--informing us that they were canceling it. The timing was incredibly inconvenient, and it felt like a complete lack of respect for our time. What made the situation worse was the way the call ended. After I agree on the reschedule and still asking for some information regarding the rescheduling , the woman on the phone abruptly hung up on me mid-sentence. It's disappointing when a medical provider shows such poor communication and customer service, especially when people rearrange their schedules and make an effort to keep an appointment. I can't recommend this office based on how unprofessional and inconsiderate they were in handling our situation.

I had an appointment on June 7th. A Prior Authorization was needed for the medication that I need…read more I was happy with how quickly they initiated the process. I had a follow up appointment 2 weeks later to receive a sample of the medication while the prior authorization process wrapped up. I was told by the physician that I would receive the medication sample 2 weeks later at my appointment. When I showed up at my appointment, the office was closed despite me receiving a phone call the night before to remind me of my visit. I promptly rescheduled 1 week later. I showed up to my visit and was told I was not able to receive the sample medication as promised because they were still waiting for my prior authorization (contradictory to what the physician told me in the first visit). He said he personally checked on the prior authorization that morning and had not received any information back at that point. He encouraged me to call my insurance company to inquire. They did not call me prior to the visit to notify me I would not be able to receive the medication, so I wasted another day going to the office. 1 month later still no answers and, come to find out, they never submitted the prior authorization to the insurance. No communication, rude staff, delay of care, very frustrating.

I had been a patient of Dr. Smith at Charleston GI for years. He's a very nice and friendly doctor…read more Last, year, my insurance company refused to cover a prescription for Humira, which I had been taking with minimal to no side effects for years, I asked the nurse for help. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. I was then switched to a biosimilar, and months later I experienced significant side effects. I left several messages with the nurse to have Dr. Smith call me to no avail. I then obtained insurance with a new company hoping to get back on Humira. The insurance company representative told me that my doctor needed to submit a prior authorization form. I asked the nurse to do so and to copy me, particularly since she refused to speak with the insurance representative or allow me to speak directly with the doctor. Apparently, she never submitted it. I found a new doctor, and within one week I was approved for Humira again.

Denial to schedule due to full bill not paid‼Well, this message is not about any of the doctors,…read morebut the billing !!! I had a procedure back in Dec. 2025 and gave a wonderful review to include billing , but I must recall my message about the billing process being great. Today , I called the office to schedule an appointment and was told " my account was Blocked" because my balance in Dec was not paid. What!!!! First , I must say I don't have a problem of making a payment which I discussed with the young lady when I had my procedure. She stated making a payment is fine. No one called to discuss a payment arrangement or stated I had a specific amount of time to pay off my balance. With this being said my bill is under 700 and it has only been 3 months and I have made 4 payments 2 payments where I had my procedure (down payment, and balance due from that facility) , 2 payments as of today to Charleston GI which I made earlier this month and one today. I wrote this post because I knew someone from the office would read and want to respond . So I must say the payment isn't really the problem. I don't mind making a payment, but I do mind you denying me to schedule because the balance is not paid in full. Very disappointed in how your billing is set up for your patients!!!! Is this how Roper treats their patients???If you have a specific amount of time for a balance to be paid you should tell ALL patients upfront .To include , give payment options meaning different ways to pay off by drafting from an account , taking a payment out each month to get balance paid off. I would just say you should NEVER deny someone treatment for inability to pay. I must say even though I can pay something ,their are people who can't pay at all and I think this is wrong . Fix your billing process and work with your patients‼‼
