She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.

Dr Johnson is such a breath of fresh air -- she even called me to see how I was feeling when she saw a report from my orthopedic surgeon recommending major surgery. All of your personal information is on display- they can all hear it. It's embarrassing at best. Also, their doctors seem to work whenever they feel like it- not regularly, you won't develop a relationship with any of them. The whole system is very impersonal- it's a very disorganized place. We would certainly recommend him, especially for seniors and patients speaking Mandarin. My experience with the providers has generally been positive, but operationally Optum is a mess…read more Since they did away with having admin staff at the clinic desks, you can't schedule follow up appointments on check out. They are supposed to call you to schedule, but they never do and then it's impossible to get whatever random scheduler answers when you call to actually take care of your scheduling needs. Studies have shown that when you schedule patients before they leave the office, around 75% of them follow up for necessary care. When you have a post-visit phone call system (like the Polyclinic now uses), that number drops to about 50%. If Polyclinic actually cared about their patients getting the care they need, they wouldn't have scrapped in office schedulers to save money.

I tried calling the dentist part to see if I could get in communication with someone. Nope lol. Super disappointing and frustrating as a clinic...soooo close to me is soooo far from allowing any type of communication. 10/10 care when you get in but -10000/10 for communication in any way shape or form. I may win the lottery before they answer the phone.
