I stopped in around 1 p.m. on a weekday (Wednesday) to check out Pattea Lou's Tea Room. I know afternoon tea here typically requires a reservation, but I decided to stop by anyway and order a few items à la carte. There was one larger party inside when I arrived, but otherwise the tea room was pretty quiet. The employee working the front counter was incredibly kind and welcoming. She offered great recommendations and even showed me the tea sample racks so I could smell the different blends and learn about their flavor notes (fruity, earthy, etc.). After sampling a few options, I decided on the apricot peach tea for its fruity profile. For food, I ordered the cranberry orange scone and a pesto, tomato, and cheese panini, along with the apricot peach tea. The tea can be served hot or iced, and since it was about 80 degrees outside, I went with iced. Everything came out to around $20 before tip. After paying, I was told to grab any seat and they would bring the food out when it was ready. My sandwich came out first and was delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a bag of chips, and I got to pick one from the selection at the counter. The décor is very much inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with colorful murals and whimsical artwork throughout the space. The back room was especially charming, with elegant chandeliers and a storybook-like atmosphere. Since it wasn't busy during my visit, I really had the chance to take in all the thoughtful details in the design. I came here recently with my friend for their blooms and brews event. We appreciated how affordable the event was. We sat in the main area and got to pick our own bouquet. There was ribbon, paper to wrap the bouquet if you didn't bring a vase. In addition, you got to choose your tea at the event. I went with the English breakfast tea which I enjoyed with cream and honey. Patti, the owner was kind, welcoming and checked up on us throughout the night. The atmosphere was lively, calm and I enjoyed the live music. I ordered a blueberry scone which came with a delicious citrus smear. I celebrated my birthday at Pattea Lou's Tea Room and it was such a fun and memorable experience. I went with a group of girlfriends and we all had the best time! They have a charming little café in the front if you're not up for the full tea experience, but honestly, if you've never done formal tea before, this is the place to try it. It's a really fun way to celebrate something special! Most of us ordered the Alice Tea Tower, which had a great mix of savory and sweet bites. The tea selection here is impressive. I've been to a few tea rooms in the past and this one stood out because of how many unique teas they offer. My favorite was a coconut-flavored one called Island Girl. It was so unique! Since it was my birthday, they even gave me a small teabag of my choice as a gift, which was such a thoughtful touch! Everyone there was incredibly kind and welcoming. The tea selection offers a variety of blends to suit any taste, and I appreciate the caffeine-free options. Served in a glass kettle the presentation is great; however, the tea is lukewarm where I would expect hot to very hot. Additionally, it is served with the "traditional" milk on the side, but the milk was cold, and it should not be. Recommend servers ask if customers want the milk option to halt unnecessary waste. The scone presentation is cute as well, perfectly crumbly and served with clotted cream and jam but again the scone is room temperature and are the American (triangle) not English version. If you're looking for a serene or relaxing afternoon, this is a great option. Recommend adjusting the temperatures for tea and light bites to enhance the experience. read more

My 4 year old granddaughter has been wanting a tea party for months and today just tickled her pink, she brought along her baby doll and our server promptly brought a highchair for the doll, such a sweet and genuine gesture. I gave this tea room experience as gift to my mother for Christmas, so we had a girls' day out at Pattea Lou's! The presentation of the tea pots, place settings, and towers were precious! Not too sophisticated where it was 'stuffy', but definitely had a charming, whimsical, delicate and beautiful atmosphere. It made you feel like you were in a special place, for sure! It was great for both my niece, who is 3 1/2 years old, and wonderful for the adults. The selection of teas is outstanding, and everyone gets their own personal tea pot. My favorite today was the Apricot Peach white tea (you can get all the teas hot or iced). The food on the towers were excellent, I particularly favored the mini quiche and the Waldorf chicken salad was divine! (Be aware, the menu/theme changes monthly). They also have gluten friendly options, so my mom got an entire tower of options for herself. There is also a kids tower with child-friendly bites. There are different packages to choose from whether you want sweet, savory or a combo of both. We went with the Mad Hatter option, the largest of the packages, which was worth the investment. With all the options each person gets their own tea pot with tea of their choice, my niece also had her pink lemonade brought in a tea pot. I like that there's options for any occasion and budget, and it's inclusive for different dietary needs and age groups. Pattea Lou's is such a charming and cute tea shop. They have seating in the front with lunch offerings and then you can make reservations for the tea. I've been twice now and I love that it's a different theme each time. When I went in May it was a Cinco de Mayo theme and then again in August and it was a Cajun theme. When you arrive for tea, you start with sweet and savory scones and tea, hot or iced. I have tried several of the teas and they are all amazing. My second visit, I brought my daughter and they had a strawberry lemonade option for her and when she poured it, it had edible glitter to make it sparkly and she loved that! Both times the food was delicious. The scones are fantastic, the quiche, the chicken salad and the desserts are all perfect. They give you a lot of options on the tray. Definitely good options for kids too! Check out the chocolates they have in the case as well. They carry Leonidas chocolates and they are so delicious! This place would be nice for celebration, not only the food is tasty, the whole place is beautifully decorated. We made a reservation to have tea and ordered the Sir Savoury's Tea and the Duchess's Tea towers (basically the Mad Hatter's Tea with two teapots instead of just one). We were served first the scones which were freshly baked and very much flavorful. The items on the tower were just as tasty, but I wished the Quiche Lorraine and the French Onion Tart portions were bigger, they were freshly made and quite tasty, however compared to the Waldorf Chicken Salad On Croissant, we could barely get a taste. The service was slow, however since the ambiance is enjoyable it wasn't a problem. The sweet offerings are also good, but the best one is "the grey stuff" which is sort of an Oreo mousse, while the sugar pearls are very pretty, having to chew or just swallow them whole is a bit uncomfortable. We hosted my sister's baby sprinkle with the moms and sisters and had a wonderful time at Pattea Lou's! They were able to accommodate the 13 of us (10 adults and 3 kids) perfectly. My sister had gestational diabetes during her pregnancy and they adjusted some of the offerings so that she would be able to enjoy the meal as well. We opted to split the savoury and sweet tea towers so that everyone could have a variety. They also have a children's tea, which my 1 y/o nephew destroyed (he's not a picky eater so he loved it all). I brought my 8-year-old granddaughter here for a birthday tea along with her mom and younger sister. Our server, Katy, waited on us with impeccable detail. She answered all of our questions beautifully and was very patient with two wide-eyed little girls! The food was not only delicious, but perfectly presented with whimsy and sophistication! The ambiance was light and lovely and the girls enjoyed finding little animals hidden within the print of the wallpaper. This is a super cute place for afternoon tea. We reserved a table for 8 for a birthday celebration and the reservation fee is $240 which goes toward the food and drink, which is nice. We opted to order 4 of the Sir Savory towers and 4 of the Alice towers so there would be a mix of sweet and savory. Each person got their own tea pot and everyone really liked their teas. Service was great and all the food was delicious. The bill was just under $400 after tip was added. The only issue I had was all the food was split into 2 towers for serving across 3 tables which made for awkwardness while getting your food. Second time to visit here! The owners have really listened to some constructive criticism and the experience is now five stars! This time we were a group of three and were sat right at our reservation time. Our server was nice, informative, gave good recommendations and was timely with all of our food and tea. Our experience started with a savory and sweet scone for each person (no need to share). Both were flakey and yummy, I'm a sweet girl so I have to say that the blueberry one was my favorite, but both were nicely baked and tasty. Then our tea came and I don't think I have ever had so much tea in one sitting before. I ordered the Masala Chai and it was so good (even though my group said that I had more cream and sugar than tea in my cup). My husband got the cinnamon tea from Alaska, it was so flavorful with an amazing aroma. Our towers came and and were HUGE!!!! So much food. After our last experience I felt like we needed more food, so I ordered the Mad Hatter's tower..... well..... it was FULL of all kinds of sweet and savory treats. Note to self.... Go for the Alice Tower next time. We were not able to finish our tower, one of each savory and sweet item would have been more than enough. Luckily we were able to share our left overs with our daughter's roommates. Congrats Pattea Lou's for really upping your game. I was so excited to hear we were getting a tea room in Keller! I've been waiting for my friend to have a free moment in her schedule to do a high tea, but couldn't wait any longer...Especially when my ten year old son actually said he wanted to go and try tea for the first time! It was a little late, an hour before close. We decided on the "Bubblegum" tea for kids since we had my 4 year old daughter insisting on going with us. There are lots of super cute photo ops with all the "Alice in Wonderland" decor. We were treated extra special, with samples of a lot of their food items since a party just ended and I think they had a lot of leftovers. Unexpected and what a special treat! I can't comment on the chocolate because the kids ate them all before I could get one, but they looked super fancy and the kids said they were delicious. The chicken salad croissant was very good in my opinion, the fact that my son had more than one bite is definitely saying something. The macaroons were amazing, all sorts of great flavors. Both kids enjoyed the tea, 4 year old took a couple sips which was more than expected from her. Bathrooms were clean and nice, the party rooms looked amazing for high tea. Definitely recommend, and definitely coming back with my friend, as well as my son who claims that "tea isn't as bad as I thought", haha! This review makes me sad because I have given good reviews on this place before but, I guess you have to come multiple times order different things to see true colors of this place. The front staff recommended a lunch sandwich to me and since they have always given great customer service I said I would come back for the sandwich at lunch time. She described the grinder sandwich as being her favorite and I asked is the contents of the sandwich chopped up to which she replied yes. So, that sold me. I come back front desk remembers me from Morning and took my order no problem there. So, I wait, then some one I've never seen before appears from back of the building w/ my sandwich I took one look at the sandwich and said I'm not sure this is what I ordered. It was a panini pressed with lots of large intact meats nothing about this sandwich appeared chopped up or "grinder" like. So I asked the lady and she replied "well the slaw on the sandwich is chopped nothing more and walked away didn't wait for my response or to see if I wanted something different, just rudely walked away. The bread was so hard. My stomach was in knots all night long. The sandwich had very little slaw more like minimal lettuce and hint of pepperchini. Barely gave flavor it was disgusting I could have made better at home. I see why most of their items are from outside sources now and for this reason today's experience I'm never going back to this place again, never. I wish I took a picture of it. read more

We had my 13yr old's Party here yesterday, Tea Room is great but make sure you book when they don't have a theme. I didnt enjoy this month's theme decor being in the tea room. On top of that the owner is friendly and nice, but beware of the "20 yr old manager" aka the owner's daughter. Very unprofessional, horrific customer service and should definitely be taught her mannerisms all over again. Never got an apology from her either. Train wreck with a capital TEA. I seriously don't know where to start with this review as it was laughable how bad this place was. This has been by far my worst dining experience since moving to the area over 3 years ago. I was taking my mom to tea for her birthday. I had made reservations in advance for 1 pm. They called the night before asking what tea towers we would want the next day. When we arrive we are told to sit in the cafe because our table was not ready yet. About 10 minutes later we are seated. There are three other tables occupied in the tea room while the other 6 tables are unbussed and full of dirty dishes. This remained this way for the remainder of our stay. We placed our order for two pots of tea, the server let us know she knew what towers we had ordered and that they would be coming. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. 20 minutes later we asked if we could have any of our food or tea. We were told it was coming and that the tea was steeping. Finally, two measly cold scones come out. No toppings. I have been to many tea places and have never been given cold scones without the offer of jam, clotted cream, butter, etc. The server promptly left without explaining what type of scones they were. We waited some more. She finally comes back - without any other food or tea to tell us that we had to ASK for toppings and, "what do you want?" And guess what, 20 minutes later - that tea is STILL steeping. I've worked at Starbucks in my college days. Tea takes 4 minutes to steep ladies. Premeasured jam, butter, and double cream come out in little cups. No exaggeration, one measly little teaspoon in each cup. She leaves us with one of each to be shared by the two of us and I had to ask her for a second of the cream. Upon looking at this cream it was evident that it had been sitting out for hours as it had separated and all of the liquid was swimming in the bottom. It looked disgusting. The owner simply said, "I can bring you the jar so you can see where it came from." No apology, no offer to get us more that didn't look like a curdled mess. During this time another server came out with what she thought was our tea. When the owner asked her what types they were, she answered with, "I don't know." Well they weren't ours. Still no tea. It's 40 minutes into our reservation. You guys - it's a tea house. We still have no tea. At 1:51 pm our tower finally arrives. Still no tea. This is the saddest tea tower I have ever seen. It was so painfully obvious they weren't handmaking anything in the kitchen. They've sourced their food from various places. Costco probably for the macarons. Kroger possibly for the cold croissant for the chicken salad that hadn't seen an oven to be warmed up and toasted. Keep in mind, I had given them my order the night before but yet it took them 51 minutes to put this sad tower together. The owner placed it on the table and leaves without any explanation of what we were looking at. I had to ask her to come back over to tell us. One pot of tea arrives. Another server takes my mom's cup, doesn't pour tea into it, takes it away and puts it on one of the unbussed tables that we're still having the pleasure of looking at. Picks up another tea cup from that unbussed table and proceeds to pour the tea into it. Why would we want a cup from someone else's dirty table?! What is happening here? What was wrong with the cup she took off of our table? We ask for a clean cup, which she then has to leave the tea room to go get. At 1:54 we get up and leave. Without eating. Trust me, we weren't missing anything. Still only one of the two pots of tea have arrived. Nearly an hour at a TEA room and they can't bring us tea. I thought we were being punked. It was so incredibly bizarre. And frustrating. And - my blood pressure is rising just reliving it to write this review. We had expressed our frustration with the owner multiple times. Calmly. We didn't raise our voices. I simply posed questions to her, such as, "is this the wait time you expect?" It is well past lunchtime, we were starving, we had a reservation, they had our order ahead of time. She kept giving us very defensive excuses that they had just had a large party and were understaffed. I'm sorry. That is not our problem. I am paying just as much per person as that large group and my reservation should be just as important as them. This is plain greed. Don't try to seat more people than you can serve. Your service, food, the overall experience suffers. It was an absolute joke. I'm mad that I have to even give this place one star. I suppose they earn it as she did the right thing and refunded us the money I had to pay to even make the reservation in the first place. Keller, Colleyville, seriously, all of Texas, do NOT come to this tea room. There are others far better - that actually can give you a pot of tea and not make you wait 54 minutes for it. read more

First time going. I treated my friend for her birthday. I don't mind supporting small businesses but do have some suggestions. I don't understand the pricing. It seems steep for what you get. Maybe it was the theme but you can't pick what foods you get. I would have liked to see some different sandwiches, vs bean hummus (I'm allergic), the shepherds pie thing was cold and strange to have on a tea platter. Maybe have different price points and more selection. Maybe you want just a sandwich plate or just some pie with tea. You have to get a whole platter of stuff you don't like. Maybe more fruit. Besides waiting nearly an hour for the one out two pots of tea that we ordered, the tower looked pathetic and uninviting. Very obvious that most of it looked store bought and very little if anything was made in house. Owner was rude and defensive- not our issue that you were understaffed. The tables that were not being used were covered in dirty dishes. The owner asked for grace we did not raise our voices but shared our frustration as it was my birthday. It's not our job to do them favors when we were there for a nice experience and paying for a service. We received neither a nice experience or service. Or tea for that matter. read more
