Food was delicious and service was a little slow but it was Chico de Mayo after all . I belive the prices are still going up been coming here for 20 years and my wife and my self normally spend under 50.00 dollars. Last night with our granddaughter who's 9 yrs old the bill was $ 90 + 10 tipping. We will go find a new Mexican restaurant else where. $$$$$ read more

This used to be my favorite since I arrived in this area of five years ago. It had a tacky fun atmosphere just something cute about it that I loved and the food was incredible. You definitely did not leave hungry usually you left with a doggy bag. The last time I was there, it was still pretty good pretty much on par with what I was familiar with. Tonight, spur of the moment we decided to go there for dinner. It's been a while because I have not been well. We walked in. We seated right away. It was pretty empty. I noticed they made a few changes. I'm not sure why because it was lacking the fun personality. It used to have even if it was tacky like I said it was cute. Just something about it. It appears that they have removed a lot of seating. Maybe they're just not doing the business. The staff was personable although I had an issue with something with them. I was really disappointed and insulted although it sounds petty I just don't understand why it was going on. They kept coming over waiting on my dinner partner, constantly filling his glass of water asking if you wanted anything each time they did this, they had their back to me and never turned around to me to offer a refill in my glass I mean I was completely ignored like I wasn't there not once did they ask me if I needed anything? When we first sat down of course they ask if you want something to drink, and we weren't ready except for a glass of water. They brought the usual basket of chips, but this time we had a partial basket of what looked like the bottom of a bag of chips all crumbled nothing to really dip into the dip. They were so puny. The last time and all the other time I had ever been there you had a basket overflowing with large warm chips you swore just came out of the oven. Two partially fill bowls, one of salsa, one of cheese that look like they came out of a grocery store. It was pathetic. No side plates to put silverware, and you only got a fork wrapped in a single paper napkin. Now this wasn't lunch this was for dinner service Dinner came again such puny portions come on refried beans are not that expensive. I got a small puddle of those. My burrito was OK actually, it tasted great. I have no problem with the way. The food tasted. It was just the cheap way. They did everything. The avocado was probably a teaspoon worth with lettuce mixed in with it. I guess to make it look like more than it was and a spoonful of sour cream. It looked so cheap. There were big spaces between each type of food no rice and even when they served the tortillas I don't know if there was one or two rolled up in a small napkin no basket the way they used to steam them. Does steaming them cost a lot of money. I understand. Businesses are having a hard time but if you have to do this, maybe you shouldn't be doing it at all because it's not like your prices are cheap. I don't know what's going on in there but it's not good. I don't think I'm gonna be going back anymore. I would just as soon pick up some frozen Mexican or make it. I almost felt like we got leftovers turned into things like my burrito. It used to be shredded and have salsa and everything in it inside the burrito tonight. It was like they just stuffed partially cut up chicken breast not much flavor. I am so disappointed. It's funny how you can like and not like the same place I just don't like the way they served what they did. I didn't like being treated rudely although we had some kind smiling stuff also but the way I was treated three different times just trying to get water was horrible. Finally, my dinner partner tapped her on the arm and pointed at my glass. They were lucky I wasn't paying or tipping. There's plenty of Mexican restaurants. I would suggest you go elsewhere unless this place either gets new management or does something I was in the hospitality business. I know how it goes. I know it can be hard, but I also know the things you don't do and they were all done tonight all the wrong things. I would be embarrassed to serve plates that looked like these tonight and even setting the table wasn't really set. I have had a fancier picnic table. It was like serving us with an afterthought. Sorry if we were bothering you there we had one server she was a doll. Sadly, someone like her is gonna suffer because of what I saw tonight. Even the plate and bowls look like the cheap 50 Cent ones you buy at Walmart now what did they do with all their good stuff they used to have setting a table is not hard even a simple paper place mat and they had nothing. read more

Excellent food! Great atmosphere. Definitely worth going again. Service was friendly and very attentive

Food was OK. A little on the pricey side. Staff were pleasant and the restaurant was clean. It was easy to park which is always a plus.

A good place to eat, the food is decent and pricing is reasonable. Service is decent. A bit too loud for my preference. Very convenient and popular place. read more

I loved the patron grill but sadly we recently were going to get some orders out and I happen to look at the menu. It's a cute place. It has odd ambience and terrific service or it did. What I'm sad about is the prices that they have gone to. Ouch yes the food was good and they gave you plenty but it's not a high-end restaurant and they have gone a little bit crazy. I don't know if they still have lunch specials, but I won't be getting dinner there anytime soon. I know the cost of everything has gone up, but most of us didn't get that with our income so if you want to keep your customers, you might want to rethink the prices of some of your basic items read more

Food was so cold and nasty. Services was even worse. No refills and never seen our waiter but one time. Was horrible experience. Definitely do not recommend this is my second time here and it was even worse than the first time!! This is just so ridiculous getting cold food and paying so much money for trash! I do not recommend to anyone. I won't even feed this to my dog !! This is so nasty and not clean place. read more

Patron Grill - Nasty. Taste so bad. Save your money or go somewhere else!!! - Mexican Near Me - Livingston, Texas

Went into this place today.. I start with this I did grab a pitcher of tea and take myself. The bus persons name was Julie super nice can't remeber my waitress. For a reason was rude and said I'm takeing that pitcher bringing you a glass which see never came back to refill thanks for that. Julie was the reason I would promote her and fire that waitress.. the girls at the cashier after I told them about my experience started laughing. I told them that wasn't funny and the next time I get service like this I would and should have just walked out. Blanco caso and guacamole and 2 sweet teas 25. Bucks. Get real. Will be a while before I'm back In there... get get a grip on your hormones please read more

1. I was trying to place a to go order by calling in first. However the phn kept going to voicemail. 2. I went in person to place the order and when I paid for it I thought it was a high but I did order extra things but not that much. 3. When I got home the order was totally screwed up and I WENT IN PERSON. 4. I drove back to correct the order and get a refund. Guess what they would not give me a refund because they said I placed the order incorrectly which I did not. I got individual orders of enchiladas which I ordered 2 enchilidas as a meal, what is so difficult about that. 5. This was las Friday on July 10th and paid with a credit card not my bank account. 6. Today 7/14/2026 at 8:25pm I check my bank account and there is a 10.06 charge on my bank account from Patron Grill. I never left my house on 7/13/2026 and vow never to go back there again as of 7/20/2026. 7. I tried calling the business to discuss this transaction and guess what, when I called it went straight to voicemail. The number I called is the number listed online which is (936) 328-8333. So now I have to cancel my card and wait for them to send me a new one which is sent by usps. I can't just go pick it up because that particular bank is out of state. 8. We used to go there and the service was great. But not only does the service suck, but so does the managers. From now on we will find another restaurant to go to, they are not the only one's. 9. Also, when I went in to let them know the phn keeps going to voicemail they just dismissed it as if I was an idiot. read more

Great find in Livingston! There are dozens of servers and plenty of room so there's always a fast service. My favorite plate is the molcajete. $18.99 and you get chicken, beef, cheese, shrimp, chorizo, nopal, and jalapeño in a hot stone. Delicious and a great value! Pair it with one of their many margaritas or cocktails, or a draft Corona. The place is full of Mexican theme decorations all around. read more

I've had quite a few Mexican food restaurants in my day. This one takes the cake for the worst food I've ever ate in my life. I went with my girlfriend, I got the Vaquero plate and she got the señorita plate. They both had tacos on it, which came out extremely soggy. The meat smelled like peanut butter for some reason and I would honestly take my chances with the meat that is in Jack in the Box tacos. The sauce on the enchiladas was good but the enchiladas themselves were very hard. Almost difficult to cut with a fork. The rice was bland, which was actually a nice touch because it didn't taste bad. The beans were so watery and tasted like the can they probably came out of. The guacamole was a disgrace to Mexico, it seemed like nothing on our plates were done well or done right. I've never seen guacamole that color or that consistency. The service was pretty good, which was actually one of the nice things about the meal and the queso was OK but I've had a lot better queso before. The ambiance was nice, it was karaoke night and they had the wildcard game on. It's just you could not pay me to eat here again and I've had Mexican food from good to bad to authentic to tex mex to everything in between and this is the worst food, not even just Mexican food. This is the worst food I've ever had in my life. I came home and instantly threw up. read more

Colorful spot! Vibrant blues, greens, pinks and yellows on the walls, hanging from the ceiling and decorating the booths and tables. Obviously a Livingston resident fan favorite based on the number of cars in the parking lot for Sunday lunch. Upbeat Mexican music greeted us at the door, and a hostess quickly seated us, even though it was indeed a busy place. Chips and salsa arrived pronto. Salsa is excellant. We tried fajitas and carnitas tacos. Both were great. Final info: I would suggest a Corona instead of a margarita-just not all that. read more

The good: - decor is awesome, both inside and out- TONS to keep your eye busy - the flavored margaritas: I had a frozen coconut (lime frozen with coconut flavored liquor) super refreshing! - the salsa and chips: crispy, textured, and the salsa was warm and flavored -service, our waiter did a decent job. Didn't catch his name The bad: - where's the A/C? Mind you, we were seated I the bar area, so every time the patio door opened, we got blasted with late-summer heat from outside -serving size: hubby's dinner portion of fajitas came with 3 three inch slices of chicken, and three 3 inch slices of beef. (I'd be concerned to see what the lunch portion was!) - my chalupas (flat tacos) we're so soggy that there was no way I'd be able to pick them up to eat them. - the stuffed jalapeño appetizer was surprisingly bland (think heavily breaded mild jalapeño with concession stand cheddar inside) Overall, not impressed. As my big brother would say: it'll make a turd. read more

So, my husband eats here often. Last Friday febuary 10th, we were having dinner. I requested thier shrimp enchiladas with Caso on the top. I told the waiter I can not eat their red sauce. He asked if I wanted a large or small. When my food came it was smothered in THAT red sauce. I was sick almost all weekend. And I had to ask twice for the caso. I just wish they would deliver what I ask for. read more

I enjoy my outings to this restaurant every single time we have been there. Angela is my favorite server, but they all work hard to give you outstanding service. Currently my favorite has been the the various fajitas dishes.. try any of them... I've been exploring all the different plates when I've been there. My old favorite was from the appetizers side; the Nachos Bloncos with chicken fajita meat.. but recently I have decided to try other dishes. I have not been dissatisfied at any of them. Margaritas are always on point as well. We have celebrated birthdays for self, family and friends at this place. Totally worth going. read more

I really like the inside of this place. The grotto-like walls make it feel nice and cool in the heat of Summer. Maybe it's a good place to kick back a few margaritas, but what would you eat? They follow the horrible trend of cooking the salsa they serve with chips, which essentially turns the salsa into a cilantro-flecked spaghetti sauce. I had some version of chicken fajitas. They were served on a sizzling platter, but the chicken had been stewed and was dry. The vegetables were good, but the guacamole was cooked. I don't know if that was intentional or not - I've never tasted cooked guacamole and there's a good reason they don't cook it - but it was served in a thin tortilla shell atop the sizzling platter. It was cool when it was served, but by the time I ate it the guacamole was piping-hot. I think that's a dumb serving idea. read more
