Found this place on Yelp and was excited to try. I had the fajita bowl and could not believe how good it was! The meat was not all driees out like most chicken fajitas are. It was the perfect combo and they do not cheat you on the portion thats for sure! I will definitely be back. Mon.-Fri. They give you queso at lunch... well, that made this Texan happy! Thank you! My only issue was the chips. They really were not edible. Tasted like bad grease. Let me say, this may hAve been a fluke because I did not ask for new ones. A goal in my life is to try different places. I stumbled upon Taco Express based on these reviews. It's Coldspring there isn't much to choose from. But the other reviews made me decide to try it. WOW I'm very happy I found this place. We usually go into Livingston to get our fix, and I always leave a little disappointed. But I enjoyed every aspect of the meal. It's small so you get the hometown feel to it. My granny ate her whole taco and enjoyed it very much! read more

Our new go to breakfast is the Chilaquiles. My husband always adds chorizo but I like mine Mexican style with onions and peppers. The hot hot sauce is the best with this. Corn tortillas and butter are a must too. Love having this place in town. read more

Great Mexican food in Coldspring. I have ordered take out 4 times and each time it was very good. The inside of restaurant is small. The salsa is very tasty. The breakfast tacos are nice size and great value and delicious. They don't have a take out menu to take home and don't have menu online. The girls were friendly, but when I got home with my tacos - they looked like a big gob of Yeky, the cheese melted everything together. It didn't look like tacos at all! Then we couldn't eat the beans or rice we purchased because the beans were put into our container very hot cause it melted both of the plastic lids into our beans and rice as they were stacked into the bag on top of each other. Great Mexican food! Much better than the other option in Coldspring! I had the beef fajitas and hubby had beef enchiladas. Both of us were very pleased with the flavor of our entrees, the beans, and the rice. Everything was hot and fresh. Portions were just right and cost was very reasonable. To make it short and sweet, this is a mexican restaurant with good food and good service. I received a breakfast taco the previous morning from a coworker and it definitely hit the spot. I felt it was a must stop for lunch. I went with a group of coworkers and we were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. The salsa was good and had a little kick to it. The queso was tasty as well. Stopped in at Taco Express in Coldspring today. One of my favorite finds, mom & pop authentic Mexican food. I chose the chili relleno plate and added a taco. The meal comes with rice and the charro beans I like, pico de gillo, some guacamole, and tortillias to scoop it all into. Not fast food at all. Come in with an appetite, you won't be disappointed. My meal with the to go tea was $11. Added a tip and out the door for $14. Will definitely stop in here again! read more
