From the moment she arrived in Room #9, she was confrontational and unprofessional. For example, when I requested a blanket, she sarcastically asked if my arms were broken, dismissing my request and demonstrating a lack of compassion. Her demeanor was consistently hostile and unkind, and I felt that her treatment of me was biased and unfair. I strongly deny her accusation that I made any racial slurs toward her--an unfounded and hurtful claim. I come from a diverse family and value respect and inclusivity. Moreover, I observed a stark contrast in her behavior when family members were present, as she suddenly became more attentive and cordial. This inconsistency only reinforced my concerns about the quality of care she provides when patients are most vulnerable. Her actions were belittling and unkind, and I urge management to address her behavior to ensure that no other patients endure such an experience. Providing compassionate, unbiased care is essential, and patients deserve to feel respected and safe during their time at the facility.

The doctor also "highly recommended" I get the meds; I said if I got malaria I'd just "shake it off." He was baffled. I was defiant. Now-husband just bought me the meds. I lost my passport anyway. Luckily, I've come a long way in embracing medical care! After self-medicating a sore throat for a week with chicken noodle soup and beer, I developed a hacking cough, then a few days later my voice transitioned first to Ella Fitzgerald and then Louis Armstrong. My husband (actually, now) insisted I go in when my cough started keeping him up at night and my parents didn't believe it was me on the phone. My pcp's phone and Internet was out (Verizon, figures), so I ended up back at good ol' reliable Secure Medical Care. It's nothing fancy, folks, but it IS easy, clean, amazingly fast, and next door to a Rite-Aid pharmacy. The doctor I spoke to was friendly, relaxed, and took his time (such an unfamiliar experience!), and the whole process took under a half hour even though I had no appointment. Awesome. Maybe I'll even go willingly next time!

This place is a good choice if you have a problem and would like to see a doctor quickly. There were multiple M.Ds when I went there, so there is a high probably that you will get to talk to a real doctor. Also they can provide a number of medication on-site so there is no need to go to a pharmacy, im not sure if they take insurance for the prescriptions but in the case of the item that I needed the cash price of $10 was the same as what I would pay at a pharmacy when using my insurance. I did however, see other cash prices which were higher $20-$40 range, which is higher than I have every paid for any generic medication while using prescription insurance. Apart from that there is nothing notable about this place. The doctor was nice but there was nothing remarkable about her bedside manner. Since they take my insurance I may very well go here again and will update my review if there is any more information to add. I did find the insurance information a little difficult to find on their website, so here is a link to the page that details which insurance plans they accept: http://www.securemedicalcare.com/Patient/Insurance

When I arrived, there were no other patients - I gave them my insurance info and ID. They asked if i was in pain and when I said yes, they said let's get you back right away.......only to sit and wait, and wait, and wait. They gave me a tablet to put my info into, but I couldn't complete because they had my insurance card and ID. After complaining and asking if there was even a doc in house (which i do not believe there was - they said a medical assistant was on their way!) Finally, someone came in to see me (almost a half half after arriving), but not for medical care, but with a form to say that I was not insured so I would need to sign a form that I would pay. First, I AM insured with Aetna through my work and second, which maybe should be first - do you notice how bad my arm and hand are burned while you are f-ing around with paperwork and waiting for a medical assistant to arrive???? Not even ice, which all of mine had melted by then... We left and went to Howard County General who took me right in, immediately gave me ice, and didn't even ask for my insurance until someone treated me!!! Avoid this place like the plague - there is a Patient First right over on 198 that I should have gone to if i was looking to visit an urgent care rather than the ER. Xpress MedCare has nothing to do with express or medical care in my book!!!!
