Patrick Walker talked me into to a full bridge replacements for $46,000 and told me I would never have another tooth problem. Well obviously he went to the lowest price lab and put the low price full bridges in my mouth. I told him there was problems and he basically ignored me and left me high and dry! Teeth! If you need teeth, this guys got 'em. Prosthodontics is an amazing field and it's not just about dentures either. Although that was the main reason for our visit to Dr. Walker. My Mom and I came here after the rehab she stayed in lost her dentures. Dr. Walker was recommended to us by my dentist and I couldn't be happier. His office is located in the Oak Ridge Medical/Dental complex on Blossom Hill Road. Parking is easy and they have lots of wheelchair ramps and handicap parking and assistance here. The office is small, but so nicely appointed. We were greeted by the calm of a beautiful lit candle, a coffee cart, comfy furnishings and there were many different magazines for our waiting pleasure. And what a pleasure it was to deal with Dr. Walker and his friendly staff. It doesn't get much better than this. Wanting to help my Mom as quickly as possible, they turned a 4-6 week process into one that lasted only 3 1/2. Everyone from the office staff to the assistants could not have been more helpful and accommodating to us. I was just getting used to handling a person in a wheelchair and the staff not only gave me some lifting and transfer tips, but did whatever worked for us in our situation. And not only that, they had smiles on the whole time and were actually happy to see us and happy to assist us. This should be common, but sadly isn't in a lot of cases nowadays. So, I always notice great customer service. Dr. Walker brings many years of experience to his job and obviously loves what he does. He wears Hawaiian shirts to work each day so he can thoroughly enjoy himself at his job. His personality radiates throughout the office and he has many stories to tell. You can see that everyone else loves working there too. The teeth they made my Mom are beautiful! Not only that, but they did a very thorough job of checking and rechecking the bite and fit and making as many adjustments as necessary to insure a perfect fit and look. I had lost too much upper bone for implants. I was offered to have three broken roots pulled for an ordinary upper denture. Thank God I went to Dr Walker first! I learned even broken roots may be renovated, securing permanent "locators" for a "snap-in" denture. No dental adhesive. What he gave me was a work of art that looks, fits, and feels like my own teeth. What I saved over implants was phenomenal. What I learned was inestimable. Difficult cases, please talk to Dr Walker FIRST! I'm so glad I did. I was amazed from day one, when he personally upgraded the insufficient denture I had into a very sufficient temporary, so I could "walk out with a mouthful of teeth". How? He has his OWN LAB on site for small jobs. This is no ordinary dentist. You could say it's more like finding a master of fine arts in sculpture, who happens to enjoy dentistry too. For major jobs, he sends his designs to not one but two of the best labs in the valley, to best fully cover the specialties he requires. I was most impressed by the mutual respect and confidence he has with other specialists who work with him. For example, he referred me to endodontist Dr Diane Swanson for her expert root work. They'd been working together for about six years. I said to her "I'm worried, since I've already lost some upper bone, will this still work"? She said "If you pull those roots, you'll lose even more bone in the long run!" Then, in a 'matter-of-fact' way, she smiled and said: "If he said he can do it -- he can do it". When his assistant Patty heard this, she went right away, with a grin, to tell Dr Walker of Dr Swanson's generous and endearing compliment. To make a long story short, yes he did it -- and it worked. Problem solved. Both his assistant Patty and secretary Michelle are a delight to work with, as is Dr Walker himself. Michelle said "It's like working with family here"! Dr. Walker and his assistant were great, caring, and concerned about me (That's 1 star for each of them). That all ended when dealing with the front desk. There is a VERY serious lack of communication going on in this office and the patients. My ordeal started at the end of November, and up until today (Jan. 23) when I showed up unannounced in their office, it is still unresolved. They did some work in preparation for more and I needed a referral to another dentist for additional work before they could finish. I met with the other dentist (who turned out to be a real rip-off artist). I cancelled with Dr. Walker's office on Dec 11. I told them to file a claim for work performed and refund the rest. They have had since the end of November to file an insurance claim and they still haven't. At this point I am still paying interest on my credit card for almost $5K and no one is in any rush to fix this problem. I demanded a refund, and until I showed up in the office today, they still hadn't bothered to call me, even though they had a check ready. They also told me they would email me a copy of the X-rays which never happened. I demanded a copy of those today. This check today is less than the amount I have paid them, but yet they still have NOT filed an insurance claim. They tell me they get 100% payment up front, and my insurance will reimburse me, but if they fail to submit claims, then I am out of luck until they do their job. I am tempted to rip up this check and just flat out dispute the entire amount with my bank and let them deal with it that way. I have given them until the end of this week to do either one, otherwise I will dispute the charges with the bank. UPDATE: After complaining in the office last week, it's been a full week and still no insurance claim made. Essentially, they are holding the money I have paid them hostage since they expect me to be reimbursed by my insurance, yet they won't file the claim. - 1 star. read more

Overall best dental experience I've had at the young age of 40 "something"! It started when I walked in the door and was greeted by Michelle's welcoming smile. The front office is decorated so lovely and I enjoyed my nice cup of coffee while waiting just a few minutes to be taken into the back. Liz and Patty were terrific, loved being around women who are full of Life! Joanne performed the most thorough examine of my gums and very detailed cleaning of my teeth. And, Dr. Walker was delightful and most thorough in his exam and excellent recommendations for my problem mouth. His office will be able to create the smile I've always dreamed of! read more

Dr walker does not stand behind his work that he says he guarantee and he does not give a time frame. He did a removable for my implants and it has about 6 inserts that help keep the unit over the implant in place. The first set last for more than a year before you feel those inserts are not there. Dr Walker just replace all 6 about 3 months ago but didn't informed me that those inserts will cost me $240 and I told him for the future that I would like to know when you will charge me ahead of time for something. He told me that they got loose because they were old. On my last visit I told him that I feel the new ones that he place were no longer there and he guarantee them and it placed than recently. I was surprised that he didn't notify me that he was going to charge me before he decided to place new ones again and didn't show me the old ones. He supposed to have a warranty for them. I told his office that will not used him anymore because I feel that it was not fair to charge me for a new charge for something that was charge 3 months ago and my insurance will not reimburse me because I sent a claims about 4 months ago and will not get my money back. I told his office that Dr Walker should of told me that he was going to charge me before he decided to just change those insert without my approval and should of told me that instead of charge me after the fact. I told them that I will not return to his office because he didn't discuss his charge before treatment but after he placed those insert was already in my mouth when I had no choice but to pay him whatever he want to to charge. Later on that week I received a certified later that I had to signed from the post office that he will no longer be my dentist and he is giving me 30 days to find another dentist. This is very bizarre on his part after what he did not discussing what he is going to charge me and not showing me the old insert that they were worn out and if I wanted to change them to a new one for the fee of $240 for something that I was charge $240 in less than 4 months ago that should last more than a year because the previous one last about 2years before I had to change them, read more

Dr. Walker is an exceptional dentist with the ability to do full mouth reconstruction, crowns, fillings, cosmetic dentistry and dentures. He has been my dentist for four years, replacing nearly all of my fillings and crowns. Before visiting Dr. Walker, I had bite issues and at one point, was even diagnosed with TMJ. The previous post was probably written by one of Dr. Walker's staff. I, on the other hand, am a neutral third-party consumer who would give an unbiased review of the guy. Dr. W knows his stuff. He's been a dentist for 20+ years now so it only makes sense that he does. He looks like one of the characters (or a cross between them) in Grumpy Old Men and his age is starting to show a little. For instance, you can see his hands shake a little as he puts that mirrored-instrument thing in your mouth. Also, it takes him a little while to remember the specifics of who you are and what you had done during your last visit. Once he gets past that though everything's cool. You get yourself a nice set of teeth and a knock out smile. So, would I recommend Dr. Walker? Yes, definitely. Why? Because he's a nice old man and a darn good dentist.
