Every single time there is a different pastry to try (or so it seems), along with cakes, sausage rolls (normal or spicy), chocolate, macrons (so many varieties - my favourite being salted caramel) and the most amazing different kinds of bread. Everything he sells is made the morning before the bakery opens and there is a limited amount. Once it's sold out its sold out! There are a few small tables and a sofa and it can get quite busy at the weekends. The guy who runs the place is very nice, as is all the staff. However, for the quantitatively best pastry, look no further than this unassuming storefront in Rochester. Your eye will be caught by an array of delectables displayed in the window. And they taste every bit as good as they look - maybe more. We got three jam donuts, two jam pies (the lemon was best) and a few other items for under 5 pounds. Without a doubt the best pastries I've eaten in my life, and I've made it a point to eat quite a few. Eating jelly donuts at the top of Rochester Castle will always be one of my favorite memories.
