It was quite an outer body experience. Upon walking in for dinner there were a few locals at the…read morebar and a few slot players who looked as if they were gambling away their life savings. As I walked in it was like the old EF Hutton commercials where everyone froze and stared. Thankfully the bartender/waitress with the ACDC Highway To Hell shirt was friendly. I just wanted some grub and she hooked me up. This is not a heathy area to dine, as pretty much the entire menu is just a big plate of brown. Fried tater tots. Fried Cheese Balls. Fried Shrimp. I was the ONLY person in the dining area on a Saturday night at 8:00. The slots and drinks must keep them in business because nobody was crashing the doors for the food. While eating I got to look around and like some other reviewers said - it was like being in the middle of a garage sale. Knickknacks and stuff everywhere. Seeing Christmas decorations on the piano when it was 75 degrees outside and summer just ending made me wonder what live is really like in this area. I thank them for the experience even if it was very odd.

BBQ plate (Brisket with sides of Mac salad and mac & cheese) - mac salad was good and it had a sweetness to it that I liked. Didn't try the brisket however my family who did eat it said it was ok, but a little dry. Steak tips basket: steak was ok but noticeably salty. Salty to the point where I would be cutting off the outsides. Steak tips were also very well done which made it difficult to chew. Fries that came with this were actually ok, seemed very homemade. Big Dipper - basically a bacon cheeseburger with Texas toast instead of a bun. The two cheeses they used gave such good flavor to the burger. This was the only thing that didn't seem salty but I'm guessing it might be because it's served with an Au jus for dipping, which I didn't like at all. If I did dip my burger, it definitely would have been salty. We ordered Mac and cheese as the side for this and that was salty for sure. Sweet tea - good balance of sweetness, pretty refreshing! Overall, staff seemed nice and they seem like a cute family business. I would warn anyone who comes here that if you're sensitive to salt, you might want to ask that they aren't so generous with the seasoning!
