Because of the high volume of tourists this particular store has an oversized walk-in filled with double of the cheeses and delicatessen. (Don't worry, they provide coat) At the core, this place is catering great quality products for small businesses. So you can find boxes of tomatoes and really large cans/packages but also gourmet item, like balsamic vinegar reduction or chocolate bar with crushed pink pepper. It's fun just to find new stuff, it's even more fun to eat them!

In these bonkers times you gotta get your treats where you can so I went looking for nice beers and vegan goodies. As usual in this region the treats are meat and dairy heavy but I like the Shawbridge beers so grabbed some of those, a vegan local Piri Piri sauce that I'm excited to try and then, at the counter, some vegan fruit candies that are actually so good. My hopes were not high but these are like Turkish delights from heaven made in house! The safety precautions were clearly in place, masks and plexiglass and sanitizer (oh my.) It's small, quick and cute and I hope it continues to expand the diversity of its local offerings to be able to continue to support the wonderful makers in the area.

It did however seem popular at the bbq as it was the one desert, at a table of many, that had barely anything left at the end of the event.

If you are not familiar with the brands, you may still be impressed by the goods - we ended up purchasing some specialty sodas and unique potato chips along with other snacks. Wish the selection was bigger and some things more affordable, I noticed they had a section of discounted goods that were close to or past their best before date therefore I think this shop doesn't get enough customers or may not sell enough products.

They have beverages, condiments, herbal teas, jams, mushrooms, mustard, pickles, seasonings and spices made with Nordic ingredients. I spent some time browsing in the store since there are so many things I want to try. I bought some spices and teas. The cedar tea is so fragrant and healing, that I have the urge to plant a tree in my garden!

She and her husband worked with local food specialty business from all over the laurentian mountains to create a shop that highlights the best and most tasty local specialty food providers; including local coffee, fondue, pies, wines, bbq sauces, nuts, spreads and more. Very friendly staff and each table provides you with location and a bit of history on the local providers. The building looks a bit commercial in the winter but the walls open up in the spring to feel more like a local market. Great stop for snacks and unique local gifts to take home. Easy access from 117 and plenty of parking. Don't do like us and go in here starving after a day of downhill skiing - or you will end up with a lot of food.

The restaurant seems to be very popular for birthdays or special group gatherings. What interested me in the first place was the large menu, there is a good selection of everything so it easy to please a picky eater. The restaurant itself it medium sized, there is a small parking lot and free street parking. It is located in a very residential neighborhood. The interior style and vibe is fancy, higher end, white table cloth and intimate. We were seated and served very promptly. Our main meals were the penne romanoff which is a pasta in a rosee and vodka sauce, along with the grilled lamb chops. This is served with a side of potatoes and veggies but we were able to swap this out with a side of simple olive oil and garlic pasta instead. They serve complimentary flat bread and buns to start. The pasta was delicious, extremely rich and flavorful, and pretty generous in portion. The lamb chops were dainty, cooked well and tasty however we expected more of an herb or seasoned crust to these -they only had a sprinkle of herbs on them. Service is super speedy and efficient, we were in and out very quickly since we did not order anything else. I would highly recommend this place for pasta, if you live in the area, take out would be ideal. The pricing and portion is very reasonable. I would definitely come back and want to try other things from the menu, we saw several other dishes at nearby tables and everything looked delicious.
