Don't jump straight into the more advanced classes or you will get a shock. However if you work from the start it is insane how quickly your core and flexibly change for the better. The caring happy environment created by Lily and her wonderful group of teachers is inspiring and exactly the right formula for our little ones to feel valued and encouraged. They instill confidence, excellent dance technique, concentration skills and most importanly, enjoyment into their students. Lily and her team of staff offer not only great choice of music, but beautiful costumes and dance moves in preparation for the end of year concert. It is so refreshing to know that our girls are treated with such respect and not expected to 'grow up' before their years, as is so often the case in today's society. We appreciate this greatly.

Most classes are run as 8-week courses (prices vary but most are around the $170 mark) but you can also attend classes in burlesque and pole choreography as a casual. I've tried pole and burlesque here and they're both really fun classes led by teachers who are very experienced and seem to understand that people who come to their establishment do so not just to learn a skill, but also to have a few laughs. if you're shy, or you know your moves are too hot for most people to witness, you can book a private class, or you can get a group of friends together and book a 'party' class.

All the teachers are very friendly and amazing dancers. Pole Princess Hawthorn is a relatively new studio that consists of three dance rooms. There are two pole rooms (smaller carpeted room for advanced levels and a larger pole room for beginner and intermediate levels) and a small dance room for stretching etc. The studio is also under new management, so I look forward to seeing what the girls do with the space. Sarah is a wonderful choreographer, definitely try one of her classes. Whether you're looking for a fitness class, a stretch class, or a dance class, there's something for you! Casual classes run most days, or you can enroll in an 8-week pole course which involves learning a couple of new tricks each week and then putting them into a routine, which you add to each week. Be mindful there are a few stairs to climb as the studio is on Level 1 and facilities include: Showers, toilets, lockers, 1 x studio. You can rent mats and towels if you are just starting out and they sell water and coconut juice at the counter. I participated in the Core + Hot Pilates class on a Sunday morning and was greeted by friendly staff. I attended over the birthday weekend using the Bodypass program which allows me to go to this studio 3 times a month. This class was different to any yoga or pilates class I had done before as the room was heated and it made a huge difference but people of all levels participated so don't worry! The class worked on core yoga poses then incorporated pilates exercises within each pose, our instructor Mel then did high intensity training for about 15 minutes before a relaxation time at the end of class. So picture this, deep breathing - bridge - hip thrusts for your glutes and butt - warrior - planks - side planks with arm rotation and weights - and it just keeps going. Their website officially goes by Hot Bikram Yoga Chadstone but you will hear them referred to as Hot Yoga Chadstone, Hot Yoga and Pilates Chadstone. There are plenty of membership options available here but you should try out the 3 week unlimited intro offer for $30 AUD. I got a good vibe from this place as the instructors are friendly and chatted to you after the class and seemed to really get know their regulars. I gave it 3 stars as I didn't enjoyed the class but would have liked it if there was a beginner level and the locker room was a bit cramped. I will be trying a different class next week and will update it more.

If you're a beginner fear not one of the lovely helpers will make sure you know the routine and how to get into positions. The volunteers are all very friendly and welcoming and rob is an excellent teacher. I found that his style of teaching was very beneficial and it has had a big impact on finding inner peace. Having said that some of my friends have attended the class and not found this aspect useful preferring to stretch more and do less meditation and self reflection. I definitely think it's worth trying out especially if you find yourself stressed or anxious. Rob is very approachable and always happy to help you out with tips and techniques for what to do at home if you need extra work.
