Nothing special. You can get a hamburger or sausage anywhere. This place has had me and our 11 friends coming back for 12 years because of a young lady named Shannon. Shannon is not only a waitress...she is your friend, daughter, sister... best friend. She is bubbly, cute, sweet, kind, adorable...a breath of fresh air. Day in day out this young lady has a smile. She works 6 days a week...she makes everyone FEEL SPECIAL AND HAPPY just by being next to her. No matter what the day brings Shannon is like a beacon in the dark. Always a big smile, a warm hug and sunshine. She is the reason that keeps most of us coming in. We found out that the owner Stephanie fired Shannon while this young lady was out on maternity leave. When this news got out to our group of 10...we decided that the very reason we came in...was not the lacklustre food...it was the absolute RAY OF LIGHT that beemed at us everyday when we sat down. I love Passkey sausage sandwiches and have had them for 45 years. I really miss the original Passkey on Abriendo and have been going to the one on Highway 50. This was my first time to the Pueblo West Passkey and while I love the option of the Giant I must say I felt my sausage was a bit undercooked. It did not have the crispy edges I am used too. The bread was amazingly soft for a dinner time meal. The fries didn't seem as good as other Passkeys as well. Service was outstanding. read more

I love Pass Key, but when you call to order a to-go at 7:20pm on a Saturday night and they don't answer that makes no sense. I called 6 times and they started sending the call to voicemail. By the time put in all those calls the business could have made my order and made $40. I guess they don't want the business. The food was ok but the service was fantastic! Really she was great! Quiet little place with a nice patio for a pretty day. The food was quickly prepared especially considering we had a group of nine. The portions were fairly small but it wasn't bad. The management is terrible. Will go only if Steph is NOT working!!!!! We have been going for over 10 years and she was pretty friendly up until about 6 month ago. We were NOT acknowledged when we entered the restaurant, never came to our table to say "hi so nice to see you again". She has been this way for a while. Ashley is the best!!!!! The food is pretty good except when we placed an order to go, got home and my brother found hair in his sandwich. I noticed the cooks don't wear hair nets!!!!! So with that being said...... when we drive by and don't see Ashley's car, we don't stop. Management needs to be friendly and courteous to everyone!!!! If you want a good Pass Key go to the one on Hwy 50 or the one on Northern . They should change their name to something else . Tried getting take out three times , all not worth it. Twice the sausage was dry and overcooked . The third time I think they had a leftover sandwich from the night before . The bread was hard , it was just bad in so many ways. The other thing that really bugs me when you pick up your food they ask you to tip the cooks , who does that? There are way better places to get a sausage sandwich ! This restaurant brings back very good memories for me and my family - my mother grew up with pass key as the family GO TO spot as she and her 8 sisters and brother grew up in the 60's and now I call it my go to in this decade . This restaurant has the most famous and favorite sandwich - the passkey special . Need I say more and today myself and my parents are there and Sean was the cook and out meal was sooooo good we will most likely go back tomorrow . This was our first time going to a Pass Key restaurant, and we loved it. Our waitress was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and did her job well. The cooks were young guys, but again, they did their jobs with excellence. The meals we ordered were done perfectly. The grinder and the hamburger were very good, as were the french fries. When my family and I visited my wife's hometown Pueblo West last summer she told me we had to try Pass Key, she hyped it up pretty well so I was shocked when it blew my expectations out of the water. The Super is easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, especially with the chili strips and some of their excellent green chili to dip it in. What an absolute must try place. If you're into hole in the wall joints this is the place for you. I let the young lady working the front order for me and she recommended a chicken sandwich they have. I don't remember the name of it but wow am I impressed. The chicken was amazing, I also ordered chicken strips for my dog and they were amazing as well. Great quality, great customer service, great experience! I have eaten at all the pass key locations for many years but will never eat at the pueblo west location again. We came here on a Saturday around noon to celebrate an early mothers day lunch with my family. We all ordered the specials with fries. The food took a long time to come out but that wasn't a big deal. The problem was the food was terrible. bread was very thick and dry Sausage patties were paper thin and overcooked. When we complained to our waitress she said.. "Schusters makes the bread so that's not our fault", she also said "the sausage patties are made weekly and sometimes they come out thin and sometimes thick, sometimes with seasoning and sometimes the seasoning doesnt get mixed in very well" I couldn't believe that the restaurant knows there are issues with their food but doesn't care to fix it. When I asked for a manager to voice my complaints she said she was the manager. I asked if there was an owner i could speak with she said "no, but you can leave a review on yelp because the owner reads the reviews." Until people stop coming to this restaurant that doesn't care about its customers they won't fix the problems. You are better off driving into pueblo to eat at one of the pass key restaurants that does food right. read more

It has been a few years since I have had Pueblo, Colorado's famous Pass Key sandwiches and it is still my favorite. I always brag about how delicious their "Pass Key Special" is and how much I miss eating it! The sandwich is simple yet yummy. It is, after all, a "Pueblo Tradition" The fries are thick, soft, and not too greasy or salty. They also garish the dish with a huge banana pepper that is tangy which compliments the meal. The portion sizes are huge for the price as well. Definitely a good deal and you will not leave hungry! The staff is always very friendly, attentive, and fun. This place is a nice little hidden gem. I am new to Pueblo so I'm used to Chicago restaurants. So keep this in mind! I was staying at the hotel next day and arrived on a Sunday when they were closed. I thought it was a closed business so I was delighted the next day when I saw it was open. I called in my order of a BLT with fries. They said I'd be ready in 15 minutes. When I got there, the cooks were just finishing my order. It was cheap, under $8 and tasted awesome. The service was good and the employees very friendly. I was a fan of the fact that it was a normal portion size. In Illinois, you always get too much food when ordering somewhere. I was happy with my meal, not too much and the fries were great! I'd definitely order from here again if I was in the area! I would also stay and eat inside this time. They also have a tiny bar and looked like they serve bottles beer. We've eaten here almost a dozen times and we have yet to receive bad service. My wife, my kid, and I can all agree on this place, which is pretty much unheard of. This location is especially good because they have a better selection than the Passkeys in town, which is good for the family since I always get the Special with swiss.
