My only complaint (and it's not the schools fault) is they do not have an auditorium. For concerts, plays, graduation, etc. they have to go to River Ridge or Hudson High (one of the few area schools that have an indoor gymnasium. This symptomatic problem I attach to our long standing governor "Slick Rick" and his pals who put little emphasis on education and certainly not enough $$& towards adequate school facilities. Almost 250 eight graders graduated and no indoor gym or auditorium of their own. I grew up in a middle school in NY state and only had thirty kids per grade. We had a music room and an indoor gymnasium that doubled for a theater for plays, graduation, etc. Florida is woefully behind. Focus should be more on the young not greedy old people that have lived their lives already. Anyway, Kudos to HMS for running a tight (but fun and engaging) ship!

The 1970-1985 era at this place will never be forgotten by those who were here. The place burned down in the Winter of 1984-1985 and it never returned to quite the same as it was.
