Baumley Nursery, Landscaping and Garden Center is more than a place to buy plants--it is a…read moredestination for anyone who loves gardens. Unlike most garden centers, Baumley uses its plants to create beautiful, garden-like displays throughout the property, making a simple walk through the nursery a pleasure in itself. The selection is remarkable. The variety of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and specialty plants surpasses that of any other nursery I have visited. The plants are uniformly healthy, vigorous, and of exceptional quality. The staff is first-rate: knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. Jeff, the owner, exemplifies everything that makes Baumley special. He is remarkably approachable and generous with his time, but what truly sets him apart is his extraordinary knowledge of horticulture, landscape design, plant selection, site conditions, and garden composition. Jeff recently completed a landscaping project at my home, and the results are stunning. He seamlessly united a more formal area of my property with a neighboring naturalistic space, creating a transition so natural that the two areas appear to have always belonged together. The installation was carried out by Brian and his crew, who are among the finest landscapers I have worked with--and I have had several homes landscaped over the years. Brian was not only highly skilled, but also patient, flexible, attentive, and receptive to my ideas throughout the process. Within a day of the project's completion, neighbors were stopping to comment on how beautiful the yard looked. What impresses me most, however, is Jeff's commitment to quality and personal service. The day after the project was completed, he returned to ensure that everything had been executed exactly as planned. And it had been. While looking over the landscaped area, he noticed that a pop-up drain installed years earlier by another landscaper was improperly positioned, preventing it from functioning efficiently. Despite the rain, he rolled up the sleeves of his jacket and cleared the accumulated mud and debris, restoring proper drainage until his crew could return to relocate the outlet and correct the problem permanently. That small act captured what sets Jeff apart. He noticed a problem that had nothing to do with his own work, took the time to address it himself, and ensured that a permanent solution would follow. I recommend Baumley Nursery without reservation. It is a truly outstanding business, distinguished not only by the quality of its plants and workmanship, but by a level of professionalism and personal commitment that is increasingly rare.

Jeff is a great listener! Everything was accomplished on time, with the workers attending to everything and cleaning up afterward perfectly. It looks great. The price was right and the entire project was done perfectly, with Jeff calling afterward to check up on my satisfaction. It was a pleasure from beginning to end.

With our old house, I would've just run to Home Depot or Lowe's and picked up a few bags. After seeing one of their trucks delivering mulch to one of our neighbors, I decided I would try bulk delivery. I measured the square footage of our beds using Google Maps and used MulchSupply's online calculator to determine how much mulch I needed. The whole process was very easy. The day of delivery I was called while the driver was on his way. I did luck out as the previous stop was not home so I received 10 cubic yards for the price of the 8 that I ordered (deliveries are pre-organized). When it's time to refresh the mulch again (hopefully in a few years as moving all that mulch was very tiresome work), I would definitely considering ordering from them again.

Watch out for a heavy restocking fee on returns!!! I am a…read morehome owner and purchased some wood at this place for the flooring and stair work based on the recommendation by my contractor. The place has good selection of lumbar and they can order if necessary and deliver them really fast. I worked with Chris and he is really nice! I ordered lot of items for some good amount. However, the contractor, who I let go for being sloppy, didn't advise properly on one expensive item and I had to return it, still in original condition and packaged. I was hit with a 25% restocking fee. The problem is 1) There was no mention of restocking fee when I purchased. They should make the customers aware of this when its so hefty! 2) When I was obviously upset about the restocking fee and mentioned I need to think about ordering in future from this store, while Chris was sensible and apologetic and mentioned it was the manufacturer who enforces the fee, there was this other guy who immediately started talking nasty, saying this like "we cannot eat the cost because of your mistake" and "don't think you understand" etc. The guy probably doesn't know how to talk to and be sensitive when dealing with home owners. While it sure is a good lumbar place, they need to learn how to be upfront about the fees involved and how to behave with customers, who are not pros and contractors.
