I stepped away for literally three minutes while I had overlapping paid parking sessions and still received a citation. I submitted clear evidence, and the appeal was denied anyway. The process felt rigid, dismissive, and disconnected from common sense. I no longer park in Pasadena because of this experience.

Instead of simply explaining whether sandbags were available or where residents could get them, I was met with a lot of attitude and the phone was hung up on me twice. I understand if the station doesn't provide sandbags or if there are certain rules or limited supplies. That's completely understandable. What I don't understand is why a resident asking a simple question couldn't be treated with basic courtesy and directed to the proper location. Our local fire stations are an important part of the community, and I expected a much more professional and helpful response. It's not like these sandbags are coming out of Captain Jackson's personal budget or paycheck. They're community emergency resources meant to help residents prepare and protect their property. If they're unavailable or there are restrictions, just explain that. There's no reason for the attitude or to hang up on someone simply asking for information.

"For future reference" why we shouldn't have called them.. one guy was giving a lecture to one of my nurses why we shouldn't have called because patient was DNR and that the hospital is gonna do what you guys can do here .. and we're making it worse because patient can get more things at hospital .. , patient ended up getting admitted and hospital was glad we sent her as soon as possible .. DNR does not mean stop giving care to the patient .. especially patient was alert with a pulse .. it's sad to see some of these guys treat there job like this .. tax payers this is what you get !! (+) decent variety of magazines There seems to be constant complaints of the homeless population, but this is typical of any city library. As long as they are respectful, I am OK with that. I hate to rate a public resource low or average, but the experience was mediocre at best. The stairs are very industrial-like and loud and the carpet looks like it could be cleaned. With all the taxes the city of Pasadena collects, there should be more done to preserve its charm.

I love minimalist spaces, and this is the exact opposite. This is probably just my own OCD personality that misses Steve Jobs and his black turtlenecks. The staff, however, is very nice! Okay, now the coffee, which is what my rating is based on. The latte was a small step up from Starbucks and had an odd taste that I couldn't quite place. My wife couldn't finish hers. The drip coffee was barely above lukewarm and just didn't taste good. Again, it was hard to put my finger on exactly what was wrong with it, but it didn't taste particularly fresh. I noticed the bag of beans on the counter was roasted on 6/30 and marked down on clearance. Anyway, it's probably a perfectly fine place if you're not obsessed with excellent black coffee or high-quality espresso drinks. The space is large, there's lots of outdoor seating, and the staff is nice. I just wish I'd known going in that the coffee wasn't very good, so I'm writing this review for the other people out there who are equally insufferable about their coffee.
