After my doctor left the practice, I was put into the care of Derek Magnuson, PA. Derek and his staff are amazing caretakers. I've never felt rushed through an appointment. He takes the time to listen, writes thorough notes, and gives referrals to excellent specialists. When I call the office with questions I can usually speak to one of the medical assistants right away. Scheduling appointments has always been a challenge for me. The availability is there but their hours match my work schedule. Worth taking the time off when possible. It's not the most state of the art practice but what matters is cleanliness and customer service. Without disclosing my medical history, this office has gone above and beyond to help me through something important and I appreciate it. If you're looking for a primary care physician that cares about his patients, I highly recommend Derek Magnuson.

On July 20th [Monday] I received a voicemail from her office stating that they have been trying to reach me for the past week (No missed calls. No voicemails left) and that Dr. Parker was no longer accepting new patients. I called back to get more information and was informed that her last day accepting new patients was July 17th [Friday]. For my appointment to have been scheduled FOR MONTHS to it JUST NOW being addressed is completely UNACCEPTABLE. At the very least I could have been rescheduled or notified prior to this last minute indecency. This is by far the worse experience I've had with anyone representing Advent Health and it's completely unprofessional. After months of waiting, I have now been turned away. No consideration and no concern for a patient that has been waiting for YOU, Dr. Parker, specifically. What a horrible way to be treated. I am thoroughly disappointed. Especially, as a black woman waiting for a black female doctor that specializes in what I need. What an utter let down.

I replied yes it was really quite easy and a lot of prefilled hitting next and she agreed. She said to look and said that either I didn't do it correctly or that I hadn't done it but either way I was not pre-checked in. Mine you, I did do the online check in. She went on to state that I was also not there 30 minutes prior to my appointment. I said well I'm 15 minutes before my appointment is there someway that we can take care of this? It's just paperwork, right? She proceeded to tell me no my appointment as a new patient will not be happening. So that's the greeting that you get at this place as a new patient!! And I knew immediately I would NEVER allow any company that left it's medical building in the current condition to gain any of my important medical conditions of any personal info!!!!!! Outside entry step has cracking and crumbling concrete---a TRIPPING hazard for elderly medicare patients!!! And a CODE VIOLATION!!!! Waiting room has NO SWITCH PLATE on electrical outlet TV plugged into....which is a FIRE HAZZARD and possibly get someone electrocuted!!! (Imagine a toddler playing with that open box! ) (SEE PICS BELOW). Entire building, rooms, and offices are old, dirty and dated; entire staff spoke only in Spanish (I don't speak Spanish).
