They're one of the few dedicated rental companies that can supply folks with the kind of ammo they'll need for an event in short notice. The woman who will likely answer the phone is here is Patricia, who is a straight shooter, no nonsense kind of person. She'll give you the low-down on what you'll need and can give you better suggestions than what you might already be thinking. If she doesn't have something that you want, she's more than likely going to know where you can find it. (#2) However, I find that email tends to work best with them. They have tents, tables, foldaway chairs, linens, dishware / china, umbrellas, helium tanks, chafing dishes, and all kinds of party favors. One thing I really appreciate is that they have platforms, like carpet runners, stanchions, and small stage for elevation. They have cotton candy / popcorn machines, and additional room dividers and partitions to help with the party layout. I appreciate that their prices are completely transparent on the website (#3) and self-pick up is free. Delivery is available for additional fees and they're not always on time. I would recommend getting in touch with them early and if delivery is the only way to go is to deliver at least 2 hours prior to event time. I realize this will result in higher prices, but it's the best way to ensure that things will go right. They will service all 5 boroughs, including Long Island. ____________ (#1) My fave.     A to Z is my go-to vendor for renting linens for my events. I have gone with them many times…read morewithout any issues. Patricia usually answers my calls or promptly responds to my voicemails. I have always went in to pick up and return my items without any issues. They are closed on Sundays which allows you to pick up on Saturday and return them on Monday. After a busy Saturday event with setup and breakup, I appreciate my rest on Sunday which you can do with A to Z. Their prices are fair; on par and often less than those offered by their competitors. Please note the refundable deposit for chair rentals may be up $100. Also, have your UD handy for pickup. I recommend this vendor!

We hired a wedding planner but Denise's years of experience in the business and therefore the advice she gave us on executing our day were invaluable.     Why has Big Dawg Party Rental received no negative reviews since 2020? Is it because they provide…read moreimpeccable service? Or is it because they've added a clause to their contract that prohibits customers from leaving negative reviews online--even if those reviews are merited? Here's the clause in question, as it appeared in a contract they sent me in February: "The Client on behalf of itself, any of its respective agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns, officers, key employees, or directors, shall not in any way publicly disparage, call into disrepute, defame, slander or otherwise criticize BDPR or its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns, officers, key employees, or directors or take any action which could reasonably be expected to adversely affect BDPR's professional reputation. This includes any oral or written statements, such as online reviews." I was pretty surprised when I read this. Does this company actually pursue legal action against customers who leave negative reviews? I called company employee Christina to discuss and she was derisive and rude in response. But she did make one point clear: "Yes we have gone after people for writing negative Yelp reviews," she said. And that's a direct quote -- I wrote it down at the time. If Big Dawg Party Rental had confidence in the quality of their work, why would they seek to stifle negative reviews? Knowing that they do, how can you trust that the online ratings you see here accurately reflect the average service they provide? Those questions were reason enough for me to find another local rental company, which provided excellent service for the same price--with no non-disparagement clause in their contract.
