I have been meaning to write this review for some time now. But they are incredible! We used them at our home for our rehearsal dinner and they were a hit! Not only was the food out of this world, they had a professional set up, were on time, all of my guests loved them and they were a pleasure to work with. They responded to all my inquiries and there were a lot since I was planning a small wedding. I couldn't give them more of an applause. They even wrapped up the extra food for us and were nothing but very nice people. Thank you for making my families southern California taco fantasy come to life, I have recommended them to all my friends and will definitely use them again when hosting a party. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL NEVER SHOW UP. What a great way to ruin a party when the food doesn't come! We called Tony he said that he would check on it and call us back. We attempted to call him back many times from multi numbers he never picked up. We called him this morning he was very rude and told me wife "did you just call me to give me shit?" And hung up on her. Are you kidding me what kind of business is this? Why is he still in business???? He told us that he doesn't use contracts and his text is as good as a contract and he gave us a 7 question form over the form. We answered all that. I've actually had Party Times Tacos at both large corporate events and a wedding reception. Both times had great tacos and service. - I would recommend these guys for a fun / stomach stuffing event. - The line moves, but it can get long and a bit slow.. - Plenty of tacos!! Tip - you can ask for 4, so you better do it because the line is kinda slow. - You can get as many tacos as you like. - Don't skimp out on the salsas and veg that they provide with your tacos. - You can have them make quesadillas for you if you're not into meat. read more

I was hesitant to give a bad review but it seems I'm not alone with my experience. Caterers showed up the week before the event. When I called to let the office know, he confirmed they would be there the following weekend. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! 30 minutes past when they were supposed to arrive, I called the company. He remembered who I was but gave me another number to call, who I find out is now his ex wife. Why couldn't he do this for us while I'm hosting 50 people? She never answered and has yet to call back. When we called Tony again, he told me there were 7 parties that day, like this was my problem. He told us "don't put pressure on me, put pressure on her.". Great experience! We just threw a fundraising event last Saturday with over 100 people and we wanted a great tasting, affordable meal that offered vegetarian options. After a lot of research, I found Lucy's Party Time Tacos. Tony offers a monthly open house so that people interested in trying the food before booking can give them a whirl. Although we had already booked, I still went to the open house and got to meet Tony, Lucy, and their crew as well as Tracy, the frozen drink lady. Everyone there is great - they all work so well together and you can tell Tony and Lucy care about and have a great relationship with their employees. At the tasting, we confirmed that the food was on-point and it was helpful to know what sort of fixins to expect on the day of our event. Lucy and a co-worker (Elizabeth, I think?) worked our event on Saturday at the dog park in La Mesa. They were on-time, cooked up a great meal, provided great friendly service, and we still had an abundance of food to take home and enjoy after the event! We hired Party Time Tacos for our wedding in March 2012. My dad found them online and did the initial corresponding with Tony, getting a price quote along with what would be available on the menu. My mum and I went down to San Diego for an open tasting to see what the food was like. They set up a canopy at the top of the driveway and had a spread of all the meats, vegetables, rice, guacamole, salsas and tortillas available. There was even a margarita machine. Tony was there, mingling, while Lucy, the chef, made sure everyone was getting fed. The food was solid so we hired them. Corresponding with Tony over email was a little difficult because I would ask questions and get only partial answers, but whenever we spoke on the phone I was able to get everything sorted out. Party Time Tacos arrived on time, set up and started cooking on schedule. The total charge for quesadillas for the cocktail hour, chips, salsa and guacamole, and all the tacos, rice and beans for just under 100 people came to $635. We had them cater our sons 1st bday party! Food was delicious and so much toppings I love it! Grilled green onions, radishes, cilantro, lime yummy variety of salsas, guacamole (chunky with a bunch of avocados pieces) yummy!!! Tortilla chips were soooo good. Oh! And flour quesadillas!!! Soooo good! The only only only thing was the chicken was a tiny tiny bit salty but other than that everything was amazing! The food is delicious and the customer service of the staff of 2 people that were there was wonderful but I have to ding a few stars for making the guests wait soo long! I don't know if it was my friend's fault for not hiring more staff to help speed the flow along but when you have only 2 people manning the food for a reception of 100, you are going to get hungry, anxious guests. The meat was cooked, frozen then brought out in bags and warmed up on a propane grill 2. Staff "young girl" was so unprofessional. I was asking where the mulitas were? More like Zero stars. This review is solely based the booking of this company, not the food BECAUSE THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. My mother booked Party time Tacos for our joint baby shower in March 2015. She filled out the form on their website and talked to Tony twice about exactly what food was included and how much to order for a party of 100 guests. Our shower was on a Saturday and she had spoke to Tony on the Thursday before about the reservation. Saturday came and Party Time Tacos failed to show up. When we called Tony, he seemed confused and had no recollection of our reservation. We had to forward him emails to jog his memory and after a couple of phone calls back and forth, he finally admitted that they had lost the reservation or double booked. In an email, he apologized and wrote "send me the bill for the pizza". (which we had ordered in panic to feed all of our guests). When my husband called Tony a couple days later about where to send the pizza receipt, he was furious claiming that my mom had never followed the procedure and that he wasn't going to pay for it. Tony was upset, cursing and told him that his lawyer would be speaking to us if we took him to small claims. My husband told him he was acting ridiculous, then out of desperation Tony yelled well i'm gong to sue you for elder abuse. My husband asked how, and Tony responded with "because you're upsetting me". Not sure how old Tony is but crazy enough to claim elder abuse as an excuse. read more

And there was also no invoice....which made me nervous. I called them two weeks before and the owner again assured me they would be there at the specified time. The day of the party, I saw two ladies that looked like they would be from a taco catering company come out of the parking lot and walk up to another party. I saw the coordinator talk to them and they began setting up there. I thought nothing of it assuming the gazebo next to us also hired a taco cart. 30 minutes after Party Time tacos said they would be there, they were no where to be found! I asked my husband to call the main number. According to my husband the person who answered the phone sounded overwhelmed and disorganized and didn't know which staff was where. This person told my husband that they had 10 parties that day but didn't know who was where. DISORGANIZED! Frustrated my husband told the guy to figure it out and call back ASAP. I was upset but glad i had a back up plan and that wasn't the only food for my guests that were already there and hungry. It turns out the two ladies I saw earlier were from Party Time Tacos and began setting up at the WRONG party because the other coordinator claimed them saying "yes, you need to set up here..." The inexperienced coordinator (I wish I knew her name) received a call from the actual caterer that was hired, saying they were running late. Confused, she stated that they were already there. Oops she claimed the wrong caterer at my expense. The good thing was no one was at the other party yet so no food was eaten from my order. The coordinator then informed the ladies of party time tacos of the mishap. I'm assuming they called the main office and the guys told them my husband was looking for them. So they went looking for us...1.5 hours after they were suppose to be at our party! So all they did was drag the stuff over and began serving my guests. Since we didn't make a big deal about it in front of my guests, no one really new what happened. Again good thing I had another buffet line of food to keep my guests happy. The ladies of Party Time Tacos should have confirmed the name of the party with the person who actually hired them. They should of looked for me. What they did was say "is this the party that hired a taco caterer?" And the coordinator (excuse my language...a dumb blonde) should of been smart enough to know which company her client hired. The ladies were wearing aprons that said Party Time Tacos for heavens sake! For the lost time in the beginning, they did not stay extra. My mom who offered to pay for the caterer gave them a nice tip before I could tell her not to give them one... They should of not accepted it in my opinion. So even though their price was great and the food was good (not outstanding, but good) I will not be recommending this caterer. Lucy's just catered lunch for a work event. It was pretty good! They made us street tacos. The fish (tilapia) tacos were pretty tasty, the steak ones were nothing to write home about, but the chicken tacos were excellent! The rice was very good, too, and I'm not usually a big fan of rice. They had great pico, guac, quesadillas, and salsa. I know this isn't the usual review, since they set up outside, so they couldn't be rated on ambience or the same service you would get at a restaurant. But the servers were efficient and nice, and other people working in the background made sure the food was always refilled. Just like their website states they brought 3 kinds of meat, all the fixings and even plates and utensils. The taco bar was a hit and the tacos were delicious. They served 50 people for my 40th bday party and the food was incredible, the cook and server were the nicest people and took the best care of my guests, everyone kept saying how great the food was, and the price was great too. I emailed Party Time Tacos on a Monday to see if they were available for the Friday that same week. It was a pretty busy weekend since most people have their Halloween parties the weekend before actual Halloween (which happened to be the same weekend of my party) so I was kind of pushing my luck with trying to book anyone last minute. Luckily they were available. I always got a fast reply via email. Tony Margott was very helpful & nice. He booked my party of 35 people with a reasonable price & I was set to go! I believe it was his 2 sons that arrived to cater my party. They are very nice and professional. They were very attentive to my guests, they set up and cleaned up quickly and they packed up all left over food very efficiently. Found this company on yelp and after reading the reviews I booked right away. I booked for 30-35 people and had 45 show and still had plenty of food for everyone to get stuffed and left overs. The young man that came to cater showed up on time, very professional, set up/served/cleaned up perfectly. I even had a guest who had several questions about ingredients due to food allergies and he was very courteous and helpful. All this and at a great price.
