I wanted to take a moment to share my experience from shopping in your Whipple Avenue store earlier today. First, let me say that I know I waited until the "last minute" to shop, but the situations was slightly beyond my control. My son was recently asked to be an elf in his school play at the last minute due to an illness. My wife and I did some online shopping before making the 45 minute trip to Canton to pickup the item we were looking for. First, we went to Party City where, unfortunately they didn't have the costume I needed in stock. They recommended your store and ultimately we ended up there. We walked into the store and very quickly found the exact same product that we wanted from Party City in your store. Its cost was $10.00 more than the price at Party City as well as the price on just about every major website on the internet. I made my way to the front register and asked if they would price match the item and was very quickly and coldly told "no". Nothing more, nothing less. Just "no". I explained to my wife that I thought $30.00 for costume that would get only one use seemed a bit much. We decided to walk around the store to see what else they had to offer, and ultimately did decide to purchase the item. (My child's happiness is worth more then $30.00 to me). When my wife went to the check out as I stayed close by with my 4 children, I watched the cashier treat my wife very coldly and in a very uncaring way. As she finished checking out, she said to me that the first thing out of the cashiers mouth was "this isn't returnable, you can only exchange it for another size". If that is the policy or not, it was more about her delivery. NONE of the employees in the store smiled, greeted us or were even semi-engaged with their work. I manage people every day and I have to tell you that there is either a lack of leadership or just blatant disrespect for other people, because that experience was absolutely atrocious. I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due and I send far more positive emails to company's than I do negative ones, but there is a lot of work to do in that store. I don't intend to shop there ever again. Next time, I will just pay for the overnight shipping on Amazon.com. I hope that somebody actually reads this and takes action in this store. I can't imagine what it is like during your peak season. read more
