This is our go-to place for party event supplies, especially since it's just so close to us. Located in the Beacon Center off US 1 Richmond Hwy, you will find Party Depot sandwiched between Home Goods and Subway. There are plenty of parking spaces since I find this part of the shopping center to be less busy/crowded. Upon entering the establishment, there are many different kinds and types of balloons on display to fit any theme or event you're looking for. As you continue walking along the right side of the store, they display themed party supplies related to upcoming holidays. Since we came in early March, there were party supplies for Cinco de Mayo, Easter, and Ramadan, just to name a few. I'm surprised they still display many of their costumes instead of storing them away until Halloween, which makes this a great place to find almost any prop and/or costume to fit your fancy. We've bought balloons for our son's birthday, as well as finding some decor pieces to match the color theme for a mother-daughter tea party I was planning recently. Price is pretty comparable to other party supply chains. Also, our experience with their customer service has been pretty decent so no complaints. read more

The items I ordered arrived too late (after the guaranteed shipping date provided to me from Party Depot). As a result, I needed to return the items I purchased. The return process is not exactly efficient (to say the least), but I reached out to the email address listed on the company website and requested to be sent a return shipping label for the items I wished to return (that were still in their original unopened box). A week went by and... no response (or even acknowledgment that my request was received). I then sent a second email with the same request. No response. I have now sent a THIRD email with the same request. I'm still waiting for a response from the company about my request - and I have very little faith this issue will be resolved. I had been going to this store, because it is family owned and operated and not just a Big Box Party Store. Unfortunately my last experience there will definitely be my last experience there, unless my issue is rectified by management who has neglected to return my phone calls / messages. I rented a helium tank, like I normally do, for my daughter's birthday party. We took the tank to the party location and with about 1 hour before the party started, we began filling the balloons. Unfortunately the helium tank had a leak when the value was turned on. I did not want to continue to fill the balloons or try to fix the tank as this might have a worse outcome than just no balloons. The next day I returned the tank to the store and explained my problem. I was given a number to the owners / corporate office. The owner informed me that he would have to check on the tank, but also told me that there was no way the tank didn't work properly and that this was somehow my fault. I informed me I have been renting tanks from this location for 5 years, but after this problem I doubt I will return. He has yet to return my calls again, so I will let me credit card handle the issue. read more

However, I often find myself coming her for craft projects for my classroom, and I'm sure readers could think of varied options other options than just party decor. Perhaps, you want to jump into Cosplay or maybe you've always wanted a life size cut out of James Dean? What ever your desire, it is most likely housed on the shelves of Party Depot. The other day, I found myself staring at a plastic Thor's hammer, thinking to myself, "Yeah, I could be Thor, Foolish Mortal." However, the vision of local police tasering my Nordic butt as I ran from the store with hammer in hand soon compelled me to give up my aspirations of immortality. At that moment, I saw a rather conservative gentleman eying up a life size cut out of Hillary Clinton, and you just knew that he was most likely going to use it as a dartboard. Well, that's ok, because I'm pretty sure that Party Depot must have one of George Bush around somewhere so both sides of the political spectrum are treated fairly. This place saved the day when we figured out my son's Halloween costume did not work out (on October 28th!). Target and Walmart were sold out of costumes. Party Depot had hundreds of costumes. I was able to find exactly what my son was looking for and it fits perfectly. Great prices too! Big thanks to the young gentleman in the costume section in the back with the glasses who ran back and forth to the back to get a skeleton costume that fits! I love this store. There are so many ideas for party themes, colors and decorations. Many items are overpriced but this place is one stop shopping for your birthday, shower or surprise party. The employees are helpful and nice. There is a dressing room if you want to try on a costume or wig. read more

We had called in advance to inquire if they deliver balloons & we were told yes; we specifically asked about delivery & confirmed that they would deliver. When we arrived to the store 2 associates were helpful & they spoke with the owner (Manny) & he informed the girl that he could not deliver balloons early in the morning; which we asked for a delivery at 9:45am for a convention at the Gaylord Hotel & Convention. We are from out of state & the lack of customer service from the owner of a retail store speaks volume. The 2 associates were very friendly & apologized for the inconvenience. Ahh the depots of parties. This is like the poor-man's Party City (can you tell which one I prefer?). All of their decor looks like you stepped back to the 90s and most of the staff don't really care about helping you. When you ask for something you usually get a shrug or the line, "If it's not there we don't have it." This place has all your party needs don't get me wrong but their return policy will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Check out the lengthy board hanging above the register BEFORE you buy anything. Seriously. And don't take the cashiers' word on anything, READ THE SIGN. Many times I've had someone tell me something different than the policy only to find I can't return it or exchange it even if it has never been opened and it's the next day. If you can, just go to Party City. You'll get a much better deals and will be able to return things you don't need with no hassle. read more

I came here today (Thursday at 11am) to buy balloons. They have a huge selection of latex and mylar balloons. $0.88 per balloon blown up. I bought 24, and one huge hello kitty balloon. Pink princess theme... kinda. The staff is no nonsense, but efficient. So if you're looking to make a new friend, this isnt the spot. Party Depot is not glamorous, but it's really cheap, simple, and fast. At Party Depot, there are at least 100+ different helium balloons for all of the celebratory occasions that you can encounter: weddings, engagements, baby showers, graduations, birthdays, get well soon or feel better, and more. It's a great opportunity to embarrass a loved one with extravagantly large balloons. I recently purchased 6-8 balloons for only $15 and the store traffic is rather minimal, so I can get what I need rather quickly. This is better than venturing out to Bailey's Crossroad at Party City or paying $15 for 2-3 balloons at your average grocery store. read more

Customer service at the Richmond Hwy location is horrible!!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If I had the time, I would stand outside with a boycott sign. Aside from that they don't honor prices for items stocked in the wrong place. The young employee give me dirty looks and the manager had a full on argument with me over their mistake. I picked up a helium tank for balloons on Saturday morning and returned it the next day which was Sunday morning. Upon returning it, I signed the same letter I picked up the tank with. I found it weird that I didn't receive a receipt of return or nothing. I asked was that it and was told yes you are good to go. So, a week goes by there is still no refund of the deposit. My wife calls to check on the status of the refund and was told we never returned it. I then proceed to go to the store and talk to the manager. He showed me where I sign twice once picking it up and once returning it. He then says to call corporate because they can't do refunds. My wife calls corporate and speaks with a Nicholas who then tells her we lost the tank. After she explains that I return the tank on Sunday, he says there is no record of return. So now a month has gone by and no one has even tried to solve the missing helium tank. We called once again and spoke with Nicholas and I explain to him in detail who I return the tank too and their procedures on returning tanks. Oh now he found the tank and processing a refund. At this point it should be the full refund and not the deposit. Apparently after reading reviews this isn't the first time something like this has happened. read more

The staff doesn't care about their customers. I had to ask for help from two employees who were blowing up balloons. I made eye contact with one of the workers as I walked to the register. I went to go ask the manager on duty, (Art) when I asked him if those were the only ones they had in stock. He smacked his lips and rudely answered saying "what you see is what we got." Definitely remember the sale price before you go to the register. All of my items at the register were brought up for prices much higher than advertised. I pointed it out and the salespeople were cool with double-checking it and adding the lower price. Apparently this is a known problem in their system from what I heard. read more

i had a big event for which I ordered large celebrations balloons three days in advance. When I went to pick them up, an employee named Michael started filling them up. He was very unprofessional and unhelpful. He said that there was a leakage and so I asked for another balloon but he said he could not do anything when the party was to occur in two hours. He said I could choose other colors that didn't fit my theme and were more expensive. And then I tried to use the five dollar coupon and he told me that they could not use it. I asked him why he could not use it and he said it was because the employees knew "internally" that they could not. Excuse me? Then why have the coupon out in the first place... Defeats the purpose of a coupon especially when there was no description on it signifying that I could not use it. Then I ordered another 10 balloons to fit the theme and once I left the store, they started popping. I went back and told him that I didn't want them and to return my money and so he said no. Then I went home and ended up with only 6 out of the 10 balloons I had purchased. Michael was very rude and unprofessional and I don't know why he is Assistant Manager when he doesn't have any customer service skills. He was not nice and I will NEVER go back to Party Depot. I spent $40 for balloons that didn't fit my theme and did not last at all. I wish I went to Party City but due to the convenience of its location, I went to Party Depot. read more
