That alone made the night five stars for me. The artist was incredibly kind, sweet, and personable. While I do wish she had spent a little more time demonstrating brush techniques and offering help to beginners, she created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The music was a bit loud, but it added to the lively vibe. We also made candles during our visit -- a total five-star process. The instructions were clear, the scents were so fun to explore, and it felt like a creative, sensory adventure. Some of the candle label stickers were unavailable, which was a little disappointing, but probably beyond the business's control. This small business is absolutely worth supporting. You can feel how much love, creativity, and heart fills the space. As a nurse, I especially appreciated the painting on the wall honoring healthcare workers -- such a thoughtful touch. Best part? I thought they would come by and judge your painting but he didn't, instead he stood up front and gave pointers and kept reminding us to have fun. He played fantastic music, pretty sure there wasn't not 1 song I didn't like! The other thing I enjoyed is it is BYOB and food if you want. There were some people that brought wine and cheese, crackers etc. I love this instead of having to purchase wine you don't like. They do provide you with clear cups for your wine. We brought our own wine opener but I'm pretty sure they have one you can use if necessary. A really good experience for all occasions, rather it be girls night, date night, mother/daughter time. Heck you could even come solo because they encourage you to chat with other people! Plenty of free parking which is always a bonus in the city.

They easily accommodated a party of 18, with flawless communication in advance, a very comfortable set-up, and games and music interspersed with the painting. Note that this studio is BYOB, but we brought in multiple coolers with beer and wine, snacks, etc. and they even handled clean-up! One fun feature of a private party at Painting with a Twist is the ability to select your own scene among thousands of possible paintings. We went with "Gentle Giants," a landscape with dinosaurs, but there are hundreds of options for a personalized experience. Shout-out to our instructor Lauren, who guided everyone through a stellar painting experience regardless of artistic ability. Finally, Painting with a Twist worked with me when there was a snag in refunding the party deposit fee (on the part of the credit card processor). We came to relax and paint and have a beautiful experience, not to be slammed with songs loaded with F words, calling women bitc***, forcing women to do stuff kind of lyrics, and nigg* this and that laced throughout. About an hour of that before music transitioned to "random whatever" songs for about a half hour, then back to the rap. For most people, if not all, this is a special experience- couples, birthdays, romance, celebration, etc. so not everybody wants to hear this kind of music. How about instrumental, classical, jazz, or standard radio (CLEAN rock. R&B, rap, etc.)? Or better, do we even need music? We can then focus and enjoy each other's company. READ THE ROOM. Yes, we didn't speak up, but we shouldn't HAVE to. This is a professional business. Some White folks were uncomfortable AND even some Black folks, At a minimum, she should have asked, "Hey, is everybody okay with hard core rap, x-rated language, and women being called bit*****, kind of music?" 2) The instructor sat all the Black folks at one table, and all the White folks at another. I'm hoping that was just a weird fluke, but it was obvious. 3) Instructor/artist was very sweet, but not focused on her students as much as she could have been. She also ran over time. The location was great, but we wouldn't go back to this location, nor recommend to others unless the music changed and there was a different instructor. And we hope they don't play the same music at other locations.

Some can't paint the painting to look like the 'model' painting and aren't helpful with technique. It's a crap shoot based on who you get. They are all nice. I was there 2 days ago, and the experience was fun with my group. Today I am so disappointed. My niece and I were so excited to do the Eiffel Tower painting because we've just been to Paris together, and the silhouettes in the painting look like us. We've been telling everyone we were doing it and have been planning for 3 weeks. At 2:00 today they let me know not enough people signed up and they canceled the class. We are so bummed. Maybe they wouldn't have made a lot of money tonight, but they lost all of our future business. I'm sadly looking for new places to paint.

This session was a fundraiser for a nonprofit organization and the theme was Soles for Strength. Each of us had a prelined canvas so we colored our pictures according to the instructor's guidance. (She was kind of mellow to my taste.) However, we were able to blend our colors according our choices and to add our own artistic twist to this artwork. We took our paintings home with us. Table was available for our snacks, softdrinks and wine. If you are bringing alcoholic drinks to your event, be sure to check their policy on that. The painting studio was well lit and had large windows, therefore it was nice to paint in a good lighting. The time allocated for the session was enough, and you really didn't need any artistic experience, just a positive attitude. Price is reasonable and it is a fun experience.
