Although the decor looks a little outdated, do not let that fool you. The food is FANTASTIC!! All of the hummus was AMAZING, the pita was fresh, the spanakopita was simply DELICIOUS!!! It wasn't crowded and the service was wonderful!! Stop in here and eat before going to the crowded neighbor down the street. The prices here are great and I can't say enough how delicious the food is!! Very authentic!!

Our FAVORITE restaurant in Tarpon Springs! Full of friendly, interesting people and the food is fantastic. On our first visit, we met our waiter Shawn who was so personable and sweet---really chill guy who is just all about customer service. Fresh, large portions fill your plate---my date loved the gyro and got it here every single time. I enjoyed it as well. Loved the flaming sagakani (perfect for special occasions), Greek fries and finally their salad as I was so done with eating meat at the end of our trip lol (We ended up eating here at least once a day because it was do good!). It got to the point where the staff knew us adn we came with a large group which was served like family. All of our meals came out at the same time, hot and fresh. This is the place to come for food. Totally worth every penny.

This the world famous Baklava Cheesecake. Evenly balanced as a desert not to sweet. Lovely and creamy. Well worth the $4.95.

Yep, this is the diner version to the sister restaurant Hellas. It is more of a Greek-American fusion diner feel. The octopus was a generous portion for the price. It is broiled not fried or grilled making it tender and not chewy at all. With some olive oil and lemon, just pops deliciousness. The Black Grouper sandwich is a must as Broiled and it is caught fresh sources locally. And to finish off with their famous Baklava Cheesecake is just a perfect cadence to the gastronomical adventure. Ask Chris for spot on recommendations not a miss. Enjoy and Opah!

This is old Tarpon Springs at its best. The guy outside hawking the diners to come in for Greek food is the start. The restaurant is spacious Food is great- we ordered the saganaki-Opa Spinach pie is very good Lemon soup a little too gelatinous Gyro portion very generous and tasty Greek salad with potato salad on the bottom was dressed perfectly. Prices very reasonable. Chris our waiter kept the food coming and drinks refilled . Great service with a great attitude. We always order too much food and have not tried dessert here.

We took our out of state visiting friend to Tarpon Springs...shopping, sight seeing and lunch...of course. We had lunch at The Parthenon. George the manager was friendly & welcoming, Shawn our server gave perfect service and our lunch of gyros was...tasty. Tom is part Greek so the atmosphere and food were an extra treat for him...OPA!

Best place we have been in Tarpon yet. Really enjoyed it, fair prices, not touristy (yet). Closes early though out of season (New Years to Mothers Day). Kids don't really like cheese, but when that flaming sagakani came to the table, they couldn't get enough. Sometimes this cheese is too salty, not here. Next, Lamb gigantic gyro- standard gyro-yumminess, would suggest a more even spread of the taziki sauce. A substantial-4-2 amount of thin sliced meat. Fries are $2 extra. Greek salad, with a creamy potato salad which was how a Greek salad potato salad should be (NO mustard), chunks of feta, cuke, olives tomato and no onions, by request. They did not offer anchovies- odd in my opinion. Kalamari- skip it. Tender, when I had a piece that actually had meat in it. Otherwise, just crisp outer coating. Show-stopper ---broiled octopus. Wow!!! Tender, fresh seasoned in simple lemon, olive oil (slight for the cooking process) oregano. Really good. My first time eating octopus this way and I am happy I did! Didn't try dessert Good stuff here at Parthenon.

Even at 11:30 on a weekday, the owner is outside with a smile on his face, beaming with pride. He shouts, "Opa!" And lists items he thinks the people will like. Good news is, people DO like it! Lunch for us was a couple of salads. We had one Greek and one village salad. Both salads were dressed with the most delicious homemade dressing. Yup, save your pita to sop up the dressing and natural juices from the salad. The Greeks call that zoumí...at least my dad does. Delicious food friendly attentive service. Highly recommended!

    Large drink

I brought my family dinner and desserts and requested my service dogs obtain water from the register. My dogs have vests, tags and all requirements for service dogs... This establishment refused to allow my dogs to have water. They would allow ME to purchase water. They also do not allow refills on your refreshments- I will take a photo of their "large" drinks... To deny my service dog water is reprehensible and that is the due to the ownership the establishment. The 2 workers were regurgitating the owner's wishes...sad.

Went here for lunch while visiting the Tarpon Springs sponge docks. I had the Athenian authentic gyro. It was very good! The lamb was cooked great. It was stuffed with crispy French fries. Very authentic. The staff was so nice and was constantly making sure we were okay. Would recommend!

    Broiled octopus! !! Amazing

We wanted just a snack so we had the broiled octopus. It was amazing. The gyros were so large and looked delicious. Service not up to par yet we would certainly go back.

This is the cheese appetizer will will try next. Definitely not a tourist trap.

Best gyro we've ever enjoyed with tasty meat, fresh tomatoes and warm and fresh pita. Service was attentive. Definitely will come back. This is not a tourist trap. Lots of families are here to enjoy the food and Tarpon Springs.

They were able to answer all of the questions I had about any of the Greek pastries I haven't heard of. It was very lively in there because it's also connected to a restaurant. They had a variety of pastries. I got the pistachio baklava and the tiramisu pasta. Both were very rich - I don't think I'm a big fan of the flaky bread but anyone who is will appreciate this bakery. The baklava & the other delicacies were good. But none of the ladies behind the counter asked if I was ready to order or even greeted me when i walked up to the counter, especially the two ladies folding the boxes on the counter. I had to get their attention so I can be served. I understand that the other ladies were busy fulfilling orders. Then we came back for lunch after our tour, the place was busy but were seated right away. The music in the background wasn't too loud. For a busy restaurant like that, we got our food in good time. Our server was very attentive & checked on us a couple times if we needed anything else. My pastitsio was good & the fam liked their lamb kebab.

Turned down a random side road and found this restaurant - so very glad that I decided to stop here for lunch! Fortunately they had a parking lot, small and very tight, but it worked. Lots of seating indoors and some outdoors as well. I choose the indoor seating since the outside seating is very close to the road. A very big menu, enough choices to satisfy everyone. We got an open face gyro platter with oven roasted potatoes, salad, and chicken soup. The food was delicious. I would certainly order our meals again. I have to tell you that the portions are huge! And that's a good thing because I like to eat a lot, you just need to be aware of the large portions if you're ordering appetizers etc with a meal. A couple at the table next to us had ordered a fried calamari appetizer and it looked so beautiful - lightly breaded and fried to a delicious golden color. I was honestly wishing I could try their calamari, LOL. But the portions are incredibly huge, the other table ended taking a lot offood home with them when they left. Overall this place was great - delicious food, good service, very clean restrooms.

It looked old, so i think dishes would pop more if it was updated. We didnt eat so I cant speak on food. Staff was friendly and it was a good night to sit on the tables on sidewalk.
