I was visiting room with my family and I thought yeeey Vienna has lots of Iranian restaurants. They must be good!
It is not true apparently. As soon as the waiter comes, you can feel the Iranian atmosphere! Rude, judgmental and only hospitable to foreigners! The restaurant is the most expensive one in the city, which I guess is based on the confidence the owner has on the amount of review his restaurant has on Yelp and other places. We live on Germany and I have never seen such behavior in more than 6 restaurants, I've been in Berlin and Hamburg.
The waiter was giving us judgmental look, because we did not order appetizer and only went with 4 dishes although we were 5. Which I have to say was even hard for us to finish since it was dinner.
The Kubideh and Djuje Kabab were both dry, tasty but dry. I had much better before.
Anyway, I have to spend all night trying not to punch the waiter and listen to my brother and my husband constantly saying it is the worst idea to eat in Iranian restaurants.
I understand that other nationalities enjoy the food and the restaurant, but it is not because of the restaurant itself, it's only the magic of Iranian recipe. read more
