The Google reviews for this restaurant were quite high and it was located near our hotel and the mall. It is a local establishment with many Filipinos visiting early in the morning. It opens at 7:30 AM and as a traveller with jetlag, we were happy to find a restaurant open in the early AMs that wasn't fast food.
We weren't sure what to expect when walking in, but were glad that there was someone who worked there helped us along the way. They took us to the front where the grill can be found and prompted us to choose a piece of pork and/or fish. We decided to choose one of each to try both their proteins. Then we had the option to get soup and rice before sitting down at a table. There was no menu available and also no prices listed anywhere. We were going into this blind, but it turned out to be an amazing meal. The pork and fish were served hot and it was possibly the juiciest pork I've ever eaten which is significant for me since I typically avoid pork dishes in North America. The fish was almost as good as the pork, but it had parts that were a little dry. Adding in the sauce that was provided on the table made everything more flavourful.
The meat dishes came to ~360 PHP per plate and our total was ~860 PHP. For the price of the meal to quality of the food, it was absolutely value. I wouldn't come here for a comfortable meal, but it gives authenticity of Filipino culture and they were welcoming to travellers. If I were to ever visit Cebu again, I will be making a second visit! read more
