The traffic is influenced by the intersection of the Coral Ridge Mall. Not a fan of this plaza, although a few decent businesses. A weak three stars is pushing the limit.

MiMo refers to the architecture style Mid-century modern. Started in Germany after WWII, it is a style that was popular from the mid-1930s to mid-1960s. The hallmarks of the design are simplicity and functionality. Expect to see sleek lines, little ornamentation, gentle organic curves, and mixed materials. Mid Century Modern is considered Broward's signature architecture. The Time Square shopping plaza was designed by architect Charles McKirahan in 1954 and built in 1957. McKirahan was one of the most noted mid-20th-century architects in Fort Lauderdale. He married his architect school girlfriend and together they founded a firm with more than 100 architects which they expanded internationally. McKirahan's architectural studio was located in the shopping center. He is responsible for the stunning A-frame of the the original Mai-Kai. For this plaza his design elements included screen block walls, geometric forms and glazed curtain walls. Sadly he passed away at the young age of 44 in a car accident. His son Charles "Chuck" McKirahan followed in his parents footprints and also became a celebrated architect. While the Ft. Lauderdale historical society did a great job of preserving the pioneer history of Ft. Lauderdale along the New River, this shopping center did not receive the same treatment from the Historic Preservation Board. It was renovated in 2019. The most prominent building on U.S. 1, a curved building with red brick screen wall, had the defining wall removed and replaced with sliding glass doors. Today you can still see some of the MiMo design elements McKirahan added but it is looking a little run down. The plaza has a furniture store, Times Square Pizza, and Smarty Pants, a bar to name a few of the businesses. If you are a local you have probably passed this plaza a thousand times without a second glance on your way to the beach. True fans of architecture and history know however that is worth a second glance.

Mary Brickell refused him right of way forcing the train to curve west. Thanks to Mrs. Brickell the land was preserved and from a start as a trading post it became the neighborhood of Victoria Park. Victoria Park is made up of homes from the 1930's and is valued for it's proximity to downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Thirty percent of the homes in Victoria Park are historically significant with 494 of the homes in Victoria Park having been built before 1945. The crown jewel of the neighborhood is Annie Beck and Victoria Park. The two parks are divided by a bridge with the four parallel parking spots on the Victoria Park side. Annie Beck Park was named after beloved Ft. Lauderdale pioneer Annie Beck. Those who knew her called her Anibeck. Annie was married to Alfred Beck, Ft. Lauderdale's first pharmacist who brought her to the city in 1916. Mrs. Beck went on to found All Saints' Episcopal Church, the city's first garden club, the 1919 Study Club, and the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society in 1962, the year Alfred passed away. She was named Fort Lauderdale Citizen of the Year in 1975. Annie Beck passed away at the age of 98 in 1985. In addition to the park, the garden club's small library at its Garden Center in Birch State Park is also named for her. Annie Beck's 1916 Craftsman bungalow was saved from demolition and it was moved to Middle River Terrace Park. You can take a 3-D tour of it online. Annie Beck Park is 2.4 acres. Although small it is ecologically important because it is on the water and it has mangroves which act as a nursery from marine life and keeps the water healthy by filtering out pollution. I like to walk through the park through the nature path. Above the park you can see the historic Victoria park homes lining the street. A lot of people launch their stand up paddle boards from the park. it is also a popular place to walk a dog or just sit on a bench and take in the view. I love the history in this area.

For years this park has been an underutilized space but all that is changing with recent park improvements. Construction is currently underway on the promenade running along the intracoastal and under the bridge. Parks under bridges are a great way to use space for recreation that would be otherwise wasted. Currently Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park is a large open space where the city is able to stage events. There are a few metered spaces along the perimeter of the park and the Las Olas Beach Garage is across the street. The highlight of Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park is undoubtedly its stunning waterfront promenade. Located on the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway, this park offers stunning views of cruise ships, mega yachts, and sailboats passing by. The park has a serene ambiance combined with breathtaking views. The park also has a paved walkway and benches where visitors can relax while enjoying the scenic views. I often see people from the nearby condominium exercising and walking their dogs here. The park will be a real show stopper once the city completes the improvements. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a fitness buff, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park offers something for everyone.

It's right off Atlantic Boulevard, just west of the Sawgrass Expressway in Coral Springs. The parking lot is spacious but does get full during peak times. The trail is unpaved on gravel and dirt; it's a 27-mile loop that goes along the everglades. There were many people walking, biking, and fishing. I've seen all types of wildlife there; from alligators, snakes, and herons. Sunset is a very popular time because it's so beautiful. I had a photoshoot there and the pictures came out lovely. There are three access points, this location, the Sawgrass trailhead, Markham Park, and the Sawgrass Recreation Center. There are not many trails around the area so this is the closest thing to nature you can get out in South Florida. I've always enjoyed walking on the trail there and taking in nature, right near the hustle and bustle. Overall, a beautiful place and a must see, especially during sunset!

The event, was hosted by Gemini productions and not the City of Hollywood! The alotted time of the event 4pm to 10pm, we got there early in anticipation of no parking on a Sunday. But to our surprise, we were able to snag street parking, which was pretty convenient. I must add, if you are coming to any event at this park, you are allowed to bring your foldable chairs and umbrellas, even a picnic blanket. Loved that there was actual restrooms, on the Southside of the venue. Definitely recommend coming with portable neck fans and hats especially during the summer heat. Don't forget to pack your essentials like sunblock, bugspray and if your expecting rain ( go get yourself ponchos from Dollartree) Overall loved that the City of Hollywood, Hollywood Police and others branches (emergency service) were present! I love how intimate it is though parking is hellish. There's always something to do. I've love seeing how it has evolved over the years, like with their new multicolored signs and apartment developments. I've seen restaurants come and go, like the all white themed French restaurant I worked at that no longer exists or the mom and pop crepe shop that was located where the new cbd smoke shop is. Even the old Whiskey Tango that I frequented is now a Twins Peaks. Such is the life/world we live in. Now Young Circle itself is the large park can be found several blocks from the entrance of downtown Hollywood (where the sign is located). They host a load of events of their own and is quite literally a circle. I love food truck day where they had variety of food trucks surrounding the park, though I'm not sure if they still have that in our post COVID community. They also had glass blowing the last time I've been. There's a playground for kids and other family-friendly things as it is a park hahaha.

There is the two restored Kester Cottages that were moved to the park in the 1980's, a 1926 firehouse that contains the cities first fire truck, a 1926 American LaFrance and a 1948 American LaFrance, and Pump House No. 1, also from 1926. Other park amenities include tennis courts, a playground, and a shuffleboard court. On September 11, 2019, a 9/11 memorial was dedicated at the park. Founders Park was chosen for the memorial because it contains the cities first fire house and the memorial pays tribute to the 343 first responders killed on 9/11. The Pompano Beach Historical Society launches a lot of events from this park. They hold dinners in their building, operate historical trolley tours that leave from the park, and give tours of the Kester cottages. Besides the historical value, this is a great park to play tennis. It is nice to see Pompano working so hard to embrace their past.
