We rode the boat that gives you the tour, very informative lots to do, there's three free museums you can attend I believe they're only free Tuesdays and Sundays if I recall correctly, and they close at 6PM. at the end of your destination there's beautiful views, a lot of playgrounds, places for snacks and I believe you can rent bikes. The views are beautiful
This is an awesome park with spectacular views of the mountains around. I loved the visit to the Steel museum as well. Definitely worthy of a stop when combined with a Santa Lucia boat ride. read more
This is a fantastic place to take a stroll while getting away from the metropolis for a bit. We walked a lot and felt Very safe the entire time. This very large open space park has multiple entrance points. We walked here all the way from the starting of the Rio Santa Lucia, back at the downtown area of Monterrey. It was a long walk but didn't seem so. Here, you'll find plenty of shaded places to sit and relax. They have good clean restrooms, as well as places to buy typical street food snacks. They do have a high end restaurant that requires reservations and a lookout point. We didn't do either of these. We walked all the way to the Puente Verde which is a pedestrian bridge over the main highway. read more
Parque Fundidora is a must see if you're in Monterrey. It's a large park with a really interesting history. It was the first steel and iron foundry, called Fundidora Monterrey, in Latin America during the 20th century. There are many original pieces of equipment scattered throughout the park which really provide an immersive feeling into history. You can easily spend half a day here. There are museums that provide background of the foundry, you can rent bikes and ride along the paths, there are some fast food shops, playgrounds for the kids, or you can spend your time just walking and admiring the park. You can even take a tour around one section of the foundry. There's also an option to take a boat through the park and enjoy the scenery. This is definitely a place you should see while visiting Monterrey. read more

5/5 parque Fundidora is a beautiful family friendly park full of activities for the whole family. You'll see many people on bikes, skates and skateboards. So much to do and many good stands. I love this place and it reminded me of Balboa Park in San Diego, but maybe better! I can't wait to visit the Horno 3 Steel museum. I've read that the views from the elevator are worth the ticket and tour! This is top 5 places to visit while in MTY!! I love this place!! Locals know this is where it's at! read more

The Parque is great with a lot of things to do, but do not trust that the drinking fountain is filtered. Many of us got very sick a day and a half later after drinking it. I wanted to make sure to warn people for the large music festival coming. read more
I loved this park growing up and I still love it today! This is like our version of central park, everyone comes here to enjoy the day. There is so much to see in the park and so much to do. So let me start with a brief history of the park area. So the city of monterrey was famous for its steel (kind like Pitsburg) and the area where the park is located was the original location for the steel mill. There are several original buildings that date to this era of the city. You can actually go to Horno 3 which is where the main steel plant was located and you can go down below the ground on the original elevator (i think they actually updated it but keep the original design). Horno 3 is a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the city and I have not had the pleasure of going but it will be on my list when I go back home in Christmas. Also throughout the park, there are many multipurpose buildings and other mini-museums like a wax museum, children's museum and a nature center. Around the year 2008, the city approved for a river walk project called "el Camino de Santa Lucia' (at least that's what i hear everyone call it). It is like the riverwalk in San Antonio and it is beautiful! You can actually get a ticket to go on a boat that takes you from the fundidora all the way to the museum de historia Mexicana and it is totally worth it. The park is big enough to have a pond and on the opposite side of the park, the 'Mexico's baseball hall of fame' museum sits. There is a botanic garden section in one side of the park and if you follow one of the many trails you will encounter many art sculptures and even some old railroad carts used during the steel era of the city. Some areas of the park have free workout equipment to help the citizens exercise without having to pay for gym memberships. All through the park, there is a kiosk where you can buy water and other snacks. In that same kiosk, you can also rent bikes! The best part of renting a bike is that they have 2 and even 3 people bikes! Also, they rent bikes with a baby seat in them so you can strap your kiddos in the back while you ride in the park. If you dont have the money to rent a bike they do have a free trolly that drives around the park. There are different stops where you can wait to ride the trolley and you are free to hop on and off as desired but the trolly service does end at around 7 pm I believe. The trolly ride is open-air (like a big golf cart but bigger) and it has an automatic voice recording in Spanish pointing out different points of interest in the park. This park is used for a variety of things including an annual Christmas marking and the 'state fair'. Admission to the park is free but the hours are limited. At night the park is lighted by Christmas lights and other light fixtures so it is worth staying past sunset to see them. The park is pretty safe as they do have local park police patrolling and the do have street lights all over the park. So if you're in Monterrey stop by the fundidora for a fun afternoon enjoying the crowds and the views. read more
I visited this park on a recent trip to Monterrey and was initially unimpressed because on the first day it was drizzling, there was poor visibility and almost no one in the park. The next day after the sun came out, the whole atmosphere completely changed. There were tons of kids and their families hanging out in the park, riding bikes, and enjoying the lovely weather. The park is quite the walk to get through. There's an awesome museum about the history of Monterrey's steel industry. I highly recommend this. There's a lift you can take to the top of an old steel plant, which offers an excellent panoramic view of Monterrey's cityscape and the surrounding mountains. There's also playgrounds, exercise machines and mini theme parks inside the park. It's a total smorgasbord of fun family-friendly activities! read more
Parque Fundidora is a big part of Monterrey's history. The park was founded in the land of an old Metal melting company from 1900 that was a huge part of Monterrey's source of employment back then. When the factory closed, the place was abandoned for a while, until they started building a Convention center, Cineteca (Art-house Movie Theater) and Amusement Parks. Parque Fundidora also has a museum that explains the history of the grounds and other fun activities like bungee jumping, zip lining etc. The park is green and family friendly, it's perfect to have a pic nic or rent a bike on site and take a stroll. read more

This park is great! It is a must see in Monterrey. There are so many things to do and see when visiting Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico. One of my personal favorite things to do at the park is rent a private car. These cars come with a private driver and sit an additional 5 people. The driver will drive you all over the park from one end to the other while narrating fun facts and information about Fundidora. This private car rental is about $15 US dollars. Another one of my favorite things to do at this park is go on their riverwalk. This riverwalk is beautiful and at night it is filled with gorgeous lights from one end to the other setting a beautiful night view, while passing stores, restaurants, and fountains. Whether you are walking or riding on the boat, this riverwalk is also a must see. This park is visited by many locals and many tourist. On any day you will see Americans, Asians, Latinos and so much more diversity. We love that most of this park has heavy surveillance, but we have never felt unsafe while visiting. This park also has a "Jurassic Park" located inside at an extra cost. This park is filled with great expensive 3d real life looking-moving dinosaurs. In the middle of the "Jurassic Park" you can find a river and just above the river you will see a zipline that you can access for $5 US Dollars. My 9 year old had so much fun on this zip line. Aside from the dino park, river walk, small zipline, large zip line, restaurants, exercise machines, parks for both little's and bigger children, the glass bridge, private cars, large theater, music hall, expo center, museums, wax museum, picnic area's, biking paths, walking paths, running paths, and ice skating area, you can find "Plaza Sesamo" which is a medium size theme park for both children and adults. The theme of this particular theme park is "Sesame Street" and they do an excellent job of following the theme with shows, concerts, themed rides, themed areas and more. This park is a great addition to Monterrey. If you have not done so already, please visit. You won't regret it! read more

This park is as good as people,it is huge and has different stations or spots that you may like, for example, the ices skating ring, a cycling track besides the usual track. It also has food stand, which is very useful if you whan to be there all day. In special days, like in winter, they decorate the park in such a pretty way, which attracts the attention of possible costumers that can take photos in such a pretty place. Parque Fundidora sometimes does has attractions, like an amusement park, with a variation of games, frome mechanical games to other type of games, so I highly recommend you to visit such a beautiful place. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. I was very impressed about how everything in it is designed, plus the staff in there was exceptional.
Plan to spend SIGNIFICANT time here or return more than once. There are loads of things to do and see and you won't want to rush around to better enjoy the people watching and sightseeingsite- seeing. Families, couples and friend-groups abound the park which is very sweet to see (especially because few people walk around the city itself due to size/layout.). There's a jurassic park kids adventure, various pieces of the blast furnace scattered around, bike rental, snack booths, exercise equipment, the Horno 3 and 4, the fake river the leads into the park, various fountains and plazas and more. Despite going three times, we felt as if we could have returned and still had more to do! I recommend taking pictures with the sites and mountains in the background. read more
