I love dumplings. I soon as I learned of Parobar from Yelp then off I went. It's basically a fast-food place, with bar stools along the wall for those dining in. Prizes are fast-food level as well. 13 zł get you ten dumplings, served in a bamboo basket.
The dumplings tasted pretty authentic. Then again, Chinese dumplings aren't that different from Polish pierogi. The main difference is the thickness of the dough: Chinese dumplings have thinner wrappers. Greater effort is also spent on making them look nice.
Parobar is definitely worth a try. The food is relatively inexpensive. The presentation is neat. And you get a chance to practice your skills with chopsticks. Personally, I'd recommend the dumplings with pork, the traditional ingredient. Meanwhile, avoid the beef ones. The meat just doesn't steam well--it gets dry and tough. read more
