This playground is fine if you live close, but it's not worth more than a 5 minute drive. There are two small play structures, 4 swings, a climbing wall, and some grass that isn't fully fenced in along a busy road. That's it. There's nothing nearby. It's very open so there's no shade on hot days. Very few trees. Overall I'd only come here if I lived very close. read more

This is a nice big park with a lot of space and a cool play structure including a climbing wall. One silver lining with Covid is that the parks are not crowded like before. We had a wonderful walk around the park and enjoyed some quiet zen time in the evening. read more

Parma Park (PP) is a terrific 4.5-acre neighborhood park that's located off one of Almaden Valley's main drags, Camden Ave. I've been here quite a few times, but recently had my son's 4th birthday party here, so I thought this would be an appropriate time to review. PP has a lot of really cool features that you hardly ever see at most City parks, and a lot of that is thanks to the design of the recently renovated playground. Here is a thorough list of its contents: -Non-reservable picnic tables, but no BBQ pits -Restrooms -Nicely designed play structure, but it's a bit smaller than most -Rock climbing wall -Caged-off Tot Lot to keep the little ones fenced in. -Within the Tot Lot area is a sandbox that has a really cool mining theme as a homage to the Almaden Quicksilver mines; I also didn't see any "Almond Rocas" floating around in there, so it must get sifted frequently. -Water feature that's, unfortunately, not in operation due to the current drought conditions. -Big, well-maintained grassy fields for soccer and other activities. By the way, don't let that fence fool you--the fields are part of the park, and do not belong to the elementary school; they've been put there to keep the playground kids off the sports fields while they're in use. Safety first! -PP is located adjacent to the beautiful Almaden Community Center and Library. So, you can easily sign-up for classes, or get yer learn on! My only gripe about PP is its lack of artificial or natural shade, as mostly everything here is completely exposed to the elements. Other than that, PP is a great place to bring the kids to get some energy out or have a family get-together. Just remember to bring your hat and some SPF! read more

This is another great little park for little kids and I think the only one I've found with an outdoor climbing wall! It's located right next to the Almaden library so that's pretty awesome! They have a sand pit and different swings and play structures. There's also a water fountain and water sprinklers for kids to play in the hot summer time. The grass is always kept very nice and lush. Enjoy your time relaxing and playing at this playground! read more

Great toddler park!! The toddler section is fenced in and includes a variety of sitting areas, two separate play structures, a large sand area, and three bucket swings. External to this section are a large rock climbing structure, regular swings, and big kid play structure. All of it surrounded by beautiful landscaping to include a permanent restroom facility. Great place to have lunch, bring the kiddos, and play PokémonGo (two gyms at this park and three Pokestops). Adjacent to the park is a school with its own playground and huge grass field, a community center, and possibly a library! Plenty of parking along the residential streets around the park. read more

Rather sad looking playground and park for an expensive area of San Jose... A lot of equipment has seen better days... Many items are scratched and/or dirty. Swings are making noise and could use some lubrication. Almost everything could use a power wash and a splash of sanitizer... Sigh... read more

This is by far, the most beautiful and wonderful playground I have found in San Jose to date. It has two big playgrounds, one for younger and one for older kids. The playground for younger kids is fully enclosed. It is beautifully landscaped, has a lawn, lots of cool play areas and structures. It has picnic benches for adults and kids. Benches under a canopy. A water feature and sandbox. It is right next to the bathrooms (which were pretty clean). When we went, we picnicked on the lawn area and then played with my daughter. It is a GREAT park. read more

We recently checked out Parma Park and loved it! There is a rock wall, swings, and a gated toddler park called Jake's Play Lot. We spent the majority of our time in the toddler area. I love gated parks for my 16 month old! Inside the gated area is a toddler friendly play structure with two small slides, a small train area and a water feature. Bring a change of clothes for your little ones if you plan on letting them play in the sand/mud/ water pit. There are also smaller sized picnic tables within the gated area. We were there on a gorgeous January day and it wasn't busy at all. My only complaint about this park is the lack of shade which is probably an issue on really warm days. The park is also right next to the Library which I've heard is really nice too. read more

Adorable Park with an enclosed gate for toddlers! We came here for a Twins playgroup and had a blast on the swings and the baby slide. There is also a larger park area for bigger kids. I only wish there were a few more trees for shade in the toddler area. The park also had their cute water area where kids can run under these large water fountains. Super cute! They also had a rock climbing area for bigger kids. There is a ton of parking on the street and we can't wait to try out those fountains this summer! read more

Love this park! It's nice and spread out with plenty of space for the kids, even a couple baseball diamonds next door at the school. There's a spray ground in the summer, a great climbing wall and even a great sandbox with an included water feature for the kids to play in. My kids love playing on the train. The littler kids playground is even within a fenced area for greater safety. We all know how they can jump out of sight quickly. Big bonus...the Almaden library is right next door, so you can walk right over before or after the park. We love to hit the library and go the park afterwards to be noisy and rambunctious. One other bonus is the elementary school next door also has a huge playground. So it's almost like 3 playgrounds in one place!! You could easily spend an entire afternoon here. read more

We came by Parma Park today with a twins play group and our kids has lots of fun. The park was great for younger kids because of the enclosed/gated play area. The park also had a large water area so our kids enjoyed running through the water fountains. There was also a rock climbing area which is great for older kids. The only down side was a lack of shade. Other than that, it was a great park. read more

I love this park! I thought the name was Jake's Playground, but that doesn't really matter... Large park, but not too big to where you completely loose sight of the kids. There are 2 playgrounds, and a water play area, which is working for summer 2013 ;) Decently shaded and nice people. read more

This is a great park for kids because it is gated and there is a lock on the gate for safety. There are the typical sides and playground and an area for the kids to play with sand and water if you don't mind the kids getting wet. read more

The park structures are fun and give lots to do, but there are parts that are broken off and it looks like there could be some things fixed or redone. I love this park. Great for my toddler because it is fenced. it is next to the library Is plus as well. very great big sand area for my son to play. my son loves to play on the train. However, they don't have large shade like Greystone park . The park itself is a bit smaller than others but has nicely designed play structure. My son and I always go to library for story time and on the way back home and stop for the park with friends. Very glad to have this park in our neighborhood. Will be back all the time. read more
