This is absolutely my favourite shop in the Parkway Shopping Centre! It's located in the end by the…read moreRainbow Leisure Centre, next to Peacocks. This shop, as the name suggests, sells bargains - it really does! I have seen loads of toys there, selling for much less than you can get them elsewhere. They also sell gifts like make up bags and toiletry sets, and household products like cleaning fluids, washing up liquid, etc. They have a nice range of cheap stationery items like sellotape dispensers, and drawing pads, pencils, glitter glues etc. It's a brilliant place to stock up with things to entertain the kids! They also sell household items like bedding, kitchenware, laundry baskets etc. And have a pretty good range of food items like crisps, biscuits, coffee etc. Often these are a little closer to their sell by dates than you may find in the big supermarkets, but nevertheless they are still within the sell by dates, and significantly cheaper! This is a brilliant shop, overall. There is one problem, however - the check outs! There is always a queue, and there's always a problem if something doesn't have a price sticker on it. Any queries have to be referred to a manager, so you're left standing there while they call one over. Other than that, it's a great shop, and worth the inconvenience of the check out queues in order to grab a bargain!

Home Bargains sells toiletries, some food stuff, a small range of drinks, household items, toys, greeting cards and arts and crafts bits and bobs. It is the kind of store where you nip in for some shampoo and lesve with 3 carrier bags full! One tip is that if you see something that is a total bargain then stock up because chances are they will probably sell out quickly and they don't always stock the same things.

The ground floor has the mens section, jewellery section and makeup section. There's games as well here and some ladies hats and scarves. The first floor is ladies clothing and the second is houseware. The top floor has the restaurant and childrens department. It's a nice store, I have yet to be dissapointed with it, there are often huge reductions towards sale time! It's good to visit when the local warehouse store or topshop store has ran out of your size! The restaurant food is ok, fair prices but nothing special really. Just the usual soup, sausages, beans thing. It does serve an all day breakfast I think that's promoted throughout the store. The staff here are really helpful and friendly they'll chat with anyone any age about what they're buying or what they're up to and the makeup staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about their aimed product. Generally this is a very nice store, easily accesible from the main high street or the hill street centre.

There are several designers rangers running throughout the store including Jasper Conran, John Rocha and Matthew Williamson. I particulalry like the range of bags and the baby section. When Debenhams has a sale there are genuine reductions and bargains to be had so definitely worth a look around.

Located within the heart of Cramlington this is a popular place to shop with a good selection of…read morestores. I say good, not excellent, as there are a few gaps - it could do with a book/DVD/CD store as the selection in the supermarkets is limited to current hits and new releases. There are toilets in Sainsburys, by the exit near Johnsons the dry cleaners and down near Asda. Of the three, I recommend avoiding the ones near Asda as they often smell unpleasant! The car parking is free, with plenty of spaces at the Sainsbury and the Asda end, but the car parks are regularly patrolled and there is a three hour time limit and a no-return policy. Mind you don't get caught out as they do enforce it! ATMs are spread through the centre - Sainsburys, Barclays and the Co-op have machines outside and inside Northern Rock, HSBC, Halifax and Lloyds have them so you're never far from one. At the time of writing the centre is decorated for Christmas and Santas's postbox is popular with the children!

There is a medium sized ASDA and Sainsburys store and due to be a M&S simply food opening in 2014. There is 80 shops overall in the mall. The shops are fairly good there is the usual Greggs, boots, HSBC, Barclays and other well known retailers. The mall has not been able to keep up with the times though. Unfortuntaly it feels rather dated, South mall is newer though and more modern. However it's encouraging that the old Focus/B&M store has been knocked down and going to be a large shopping complex, M&S, Dunlem mill, PCworld/Currys coming soon. So in conclusion, fairly good mall nothing like metro centre or Eldon square but perfectly adqate.

A whole Victorian street in the shopping heart of Leeds enclosed by a wonderfully modern glass covering. OK, so the shops are all designer, the ones everyone loves to look in, sometimes go in to have a look at just how much some people are prepared to pay for t-shirt....but boy the designers have designed a perfect place for designers to come sell their designer bits 'n bobs. little bubbling fountains, coffee and bagel huts for that quick pit stop and belly filler. I sat in here for about an hour, just sipping my cheap filter coffee and commoner's bacon and egg bagel getting a good view of how the other half live. I didn't mind, I was content, in such a place I find it hard to believe anyone could feel otherwise.

In all seriousness, The Victoria Quarter is the opulent home to some of the more high end brands of the Leeds shopping arena, and with it comes certain prestige in being housed here. The little independent stores like the French Revolution and Rose & Co gain a little kudos in being located here, as that is the effect the Victoria Quarter has on a business here. It is really rather easy to get lost in the annals of the walkways, be it through gawping at all the lovely shopping enticements, or be it from the identical high vaulted ceilings and archways criss crossing across one another, identical fountains, and sympathetic shop signage so that it doesn't interfer with the original features and feel of the Victorian decor. Depending on which entrance you take you will find fountains tinkling delicately, or small tables with coffee service, or even a small but assuredly delicious pattisserie. Benches are also dotted around and if you take the time to perch, and knock your head back you'll see the bizarre yet beautiful glass decoration. A worthy attraction all on it's own.
