Lots of them are budget shops but I do think that is the same in most of the Shopping centres in Middlesbrough. Captian Cook square is a thriving busy shopping centre. During Christmas season it has hosted a lovely continental market. Here you will find Waterstones, Zavvi, Tk Max, Poundstretcher, the sony shop, Tj Hughues and not forgetting Greggs!! These are a few of the retailers you will find in the Square. Captain Cook square is very easy to locate and links up with the major shops in central Middlesbrough.

Anyway it's an ok little place. There's Gregs, Internacionale, Waterstones, TKMaxx, Alliance&Leicester, Greggs, JJB, a Boro shop, Zavvi and then some discount shops like Wilkinsons. There are also a few music and game shops. Llloyds and Yates are round here too as well as the bus station. It's freezing cold because the wind blows right through it and theres also a carpark nearby though I remain baffled by how to get to it. Generally it's worth looking round because there are some good shops here that aren't anywhere else in town. But other than that it's not too exciting.

The 1st floor is my favourite having Warehouse, Oasis, All Saints, Bench and Coast on it. There is also a big underwear range including Wonderbra where the women are nice and chatty. Bins is quieter and cooler than the other department stores. It's quite an original building with no escalators (lifts of course) and quite simple but effective decor. It's easily accessible from the high street, and it's right near Captain Cooks Square. The basement has a cafe and mens wear. The ground is makeup, accessories, shoes and bags (essential for us girls!). I would definitely recommend the shoe department here especially at sale time, there are some really nice shoes and heels often more than half price, I got some coast heels for about £70, a bargain I thought! The first floor is younger womens fashion with oasis, coast and warehouse, it's quite pricy usually but hit it at sale time for really good reductions, especially in the coast and warehouse sections. Childrens section is also on this floor. The second floor is older womens fashion but for the younger don't be put off as there are often some good bargains lurking about. The third floor is china, the fourth homeware and the fifth beds. It's a really nice organised shop with generally helpful staff. It's a very posh awe inspiring place but it's good to shop at, just make sure you look out for sale dates!

The staff are all very polite and helpful, it does have a nice shoe selection with modern day shoes. Sales are the best time to go to USC, they're all at least half price and then they often are on buy one get one free as well. I got £160 worth of clothes for £40 - a dress and a coat. I was pretty chuffed with that! All the latest fashions are here.

Upstairs it has all the normal things such as hair and body products, a pharmacy and prescription service a huge make up section with all the major brands there and some of the more expensive ones too. It also has a couple of the all important Boots Advantage card machines. Down an escalator is a huge down stairs with all the baby products and photography related things including developing your photos service. All in all its a good shop and nicely laid out however I have received rude service quite a lot in here, even from managers. The only drawback.

This branch is all on one floor, and seems a bit jumbled to me. They sell clothing, shoes, bags, toys, ornaments etc. I always like to take a look in if I'm in the town centre, as I would hate to miss a bargain, and you CAN get bargains here, but you have to be lucky, and you have to be prepared to rummage for them! I personally find the clothing expensive, even though it is discounted. But they do carry a nice line in reduced price toys and games, although I don't think they have a big a selection at the Teesside Park branch. There always seem to be queues at the check outs, too.

They have a cabinet of second hand games consoles, video cameras etc, all reasonably priced, but not the best selection, though I suppose thats down to what people bring in to sell. Staff are usually ok, sometimes a bit moody but other than that no complaints other than not much choice of items.

There is usually a security guard on the door but they are friendly and the girls who work there are usually ok but tend to study you a bit, perhaps because the shops so small there's no where else really to look! The clothes a beautiful but I find them to be very expensive even in the sales. The changing rooms are large and there is plenty for the size of the sop. I've never had to wait. There is also another Oasis in the House of Fraser department store which is handy when like today they offer 20% off as you also get it off in Oasis.

The whole shop appears a bit like a girls dressing room with fairy lights and glass tables. I have a gorgeous red v neck cardigan here, never seen one quite like it to be honest. The staff are all really polite and the store is hardly ever busy, it's nice to just pop in to.
