Usually the flowers are set up with the grave but our flowers (and all the others) were set on the ground over to the side in the 90 plus degree heat. We went off to lunch and came back a couple of hours later. The flowers were still laying on the ground down the hill from the grave. They should have, at least, been put up by the grave.

As this was a very emotional time for my family, all of the staff here treated my grandmother, father, and other family members with the utmost respect. They were courteous to all that stopped by the chapel to see my grandfather before the funeral. They dressed my grandfather up well. He looked like the grandfather I remember as I grew up, not the man that lost weight during his sickness. They arrived to the house to give us extra chairs, set up the guest book stand, and arrived the day of the funeral 30 minutes beforehand to take us to the church which wasn't even 5 minutes away. They were also very efficient in helping aide my aunt around who is in a wheelchair. Overall, they were great. Again, this was a very emotional time so it was amazing and provided relief that we didn't have to worry about a lot because they took care of everything. Thank you so much.

Very narrow lanes are drivable but you need to be very careful around corners lest you scrape a tire on the curbs. There really isn't much room for parking so be aware of where you might be leaving your car if you get out. Lots of ups and downs and then you'll find Greg Allman and the members of the Allman Brothers band which are below a small rise and surrounded by a tall fence. When they found that the vault had been paid for twice (once with them and again with McCulloughs), we were refunded the money and were able to use it for other services that were not planned or available 25 years ago. Everyone we spoke to was very kind and compassionate and I HIGHLY recommend. I feel that they went above and beyond to work with us and the funeral home to take care of everything, even things we had not thought of. I'm very grateful to them.

Otis was the voice of a generation--smooth, powerful, and heartbreakingly timeless. Otis Redding embodied the spirit of a legendary musical era rooted in Macon--a time of raw soul, grit, and unforgettable sound. His influence on music is undeniable, and this museum is a heartfelt tribute to a life and legacy gone too soon. At just 26, Otis had already made a lasting mark as a gifted vocalist, songwriter, and relentless dream-chaser. The museum gives you a glimpse into that magic: family photos, memorabilia, music, and stories that bring him back to life in the most touching way. It doesn't take long to walk through, but the experience stays with you. And if you're lucky, you might just meet his wife or grandson--still actively involved in keeping his legacy alive.
