The tots were perfectly crispy and the burger was flavorful and life-changing. The place seemed spacious but I didn't take the time to explore. I will do that the next time I'm visiting KC.

I don't typically post reviews like this, but my recent experience with Chicken N Pickle crossed a…read moreline. The service continues to be inconsistent at best--no patio service, long waits, and a general lack of attentiveness--but what's most frustrating is the latest beverage and menu decision. You can no longer order a single glass of wine. Instead, guests are now forced into purchasing a half bottle as the minimum entry point--starting around $25--for a very limited and underwhelming selection (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc... and that's about it). No Pinot Grigio, no variety, no flexibility. Just a forced upsell on mediocre wine in a casual, outdoor setting. Let's be clear: You can order a single beer. You can order a single cocktail. But you cannot order a single glass of wine. In 2026, that's not just outdated--it's completely out of touch. This approach eliminates choice, discourages responsible and casual consumption, and frankly alienates a large portion of your customer base. What if someone wants just one glass? What if they want to try two different wines? That experience is gone. And the reasoning doesn't hold up. If this is about waste or throughput, there are countless modern solutions--by-the-glass preservation systems, or even high-quality boxed options like Black Box Wines that maintain freshness without forcing customers into higher spend. This feels less like a thoughtful strategy and more like a blunt, revenue-driven decision that ignores the guest experience entirely. So here's the question for leadership: Who is making these menu and beverage decisions--and how does this align with the kind of experience you claim to offer? Because from a guest perspective, this isn't hospitality. It's restriction. I'd genuinely like to hear a response from the team on this. Until then, this is a complete veto for me.

It has a journey on the spot area. It has a smaller parking lot that was quite full and I only saw one family at the playset and then I realized they have multiple Pickleball courts farther down the hill over a little bridge. They were all full and people were enjoying their games. By the pickle ball, they have quite a few picnic tables to watch or the players to place their items. There is also some swings at the park as well. So if you are into Pickleball, it's a nice place to go.

Bois D'Arc boasts eight pickleball-only courts, lined specifically for the game and braced with fences to help keep games separated. The competition is open and varied in skill level and there is almost always someone looking for partners or a game of doubles. Sure, there are private spots in JoCo, but for a spot run by the municipality, Bois D'Arc is as good as needed. Courts are generally first-come, first-served, but there are leagues & tourneys that get hosted here and those are generally well-marked with time slots advertised. You can also 'reserve' courts for your own functions via the City of Lenexa web site with reasonable rates. The facilities are portalets, so that's not the best, but the courts and play equipment rate all five stars. Get outside!

A friend told us they had been taking junior tennis classes here and really liked it, so we gave it a try! I called to speak with someone about where to start, and I'm glad I did! The person who helped me on the phone was absolutely fantastic about walking me through how their program worked (age level, skills level, etc.) and the options on days to attend! She even explained that we could try a class for free to see if it was worth signing up for a full session! Sold!! I hate to oversimplify it, but we truly did show up, check in, and joined a class! It was THAT easy! My daughter loved the coaches and class enough that we ended up signing up right after for the next session (two months)! Now we've been there for over 6 months, and my daughter has gotten progressively better and better! She's learned the basics of the game, technique, scoring, etc.! The facility is very nice - many indoor and outdoor courts, a weightroom, locker room, many restrooms for waiting/watching parents! I have a feeling we'll be around this facility for many months and years to come!

I still participate in many activities at OP and still enjoyed playing tennis there but now I know my decision to move was the correct one. I was a guest playing with three other members who offered to split the $12 guest fee to make it more even. When we went to pay, they said they couldn't split the guest fee so suggested that one member pay for it and then we reimburse her so that's what we did. A day later, the other three girls realized they had been charged just the court time, but I had not. Since my credit card was expired, they could not process the charges. I received an email in March for the January court time requesting an updated credit card. When I called, I am now finding out they charged me the entire $12 guest fee. Now I could go back and ask for each girl to pay me $3.00 but I don't want to do that, so I asked if OP would agree to waive this guest fee in this one instance since this was not the way we wanted to be billed. Ann in accounting said it doesn't matter how long I was a member for and that since I was not a member at the time, I owed the $12. I don't disagree with her but was hoping for a little consideration as it is only $12 and I thought my past years of membership might have some influence. I even asked for a credit to be placed on the account for a future court time but no luck. It doesn't seem like everything needs to always black and white and that there could be some leniency or exceptions to make a customer happy or even to want to come back at some time to be a member. That will not be happening with me. No, the extra $9 will not break me. It's just the principle.
