I went in on Sat paying the after hours fee but grateful that a dentist was available. The issue turned out to be an abscess attached to the root of a molar tooth. So upon the options presented to me I went with an extraction. The soonest they could book me in was the following Tuesday. All went reasonably well (with the exception of an allergic reaction to the antibiotics than lead me to go into the emergency department Sunday night!). Dan the dentist did a good job, was polite and offered clear communication. The lack of that one extra star applies to the fact my husband booked himself in after my emergency visits, for a general scale/clean - he turned up to the appointment and was waiting for 10 minutes before he was told that his appointment was actually cancelled and that they had tried to call me (?!) the previous day to let him know; now I did indeed get a call from them as they said, however no one was on the other line, when I answered the call I kept repeating hello, but to no response...I brought this up, but no clear answer could be given. This aligns also with my first emergency visit which was scheduled at a time that suited both parties, but the dentist was over 20 minutes late (which he did profusely apologize for); so perhaps communication and organisation could be the one improvement, other than that I highly recommend!

Dr Dan made me feel as comfortable as possible and helped to almost immediately relieve my pain. I was impressed by the treatment I received from all staff, so much so that I have since returned for replacement fillings, extractions and cleaning. I cannot recommend this practice enough, especially for those who suffer from anxiety when it comes to dental treatment, without the risk of lectures. Post treatment calls and appointment reminders are a great display of their customer focus.

Dr Palle was extremely friendly and professional. We sat down and he gave me an overview of what options were available and the associated costs. Every time I popped in there was friendly banter about "getting closer to the big day!!" I was a bit nervous about going to the dentist (of course the reason why I had to get work done) and from the very first consult I was put at ease. Staff were extremely friendly too!! 5 out of 5!!

I was met by the smiling faces of staff and helped by a lovely fella named Fanie. He said he'd "...see what I can do" and 15 mins later I'm walking out of the shop with a repair that will last me till I return home to the States. And no charge! That's the type of experience that creates loyalty: if I ever have optical needs in Launceston again this is where I'll spend my money

Told to try them for a few days as they "take a little getting used to". Had multi focal lens since they came out years ago. However I "tried" them over the weekend and returned to shop where after another eye test they agreed the lens supplied were an incorrect script. Sent glasses back to the mainland. Waited over a week and no contact so I rang the shop and was told the glasses had come back with another incorrect pair of lens. Waited again and after about ten days rang again and glasses still not arrived back. Had to do another trip to the shop for a refund - so after 2 eye tests, being out of pocket for over a month and over 400 kms travel and parking fees I still haven't got a pair of glasses - also no apology or explanation other than it takes time to have the lens coated. Except I wasn't having any coating on the lens!!! My husband went in January and also chose a pair of glasses and his health fund was charged. Three weeks later no glasses. They lost the pair he had chosen and his order was never placed - but they did charge his health fund. Told he needed the glasses and was leaving for a overseas holiday in one week. Glasses arrived on the day we were leaving. Perhaps I should have taken my husband with me in the first instance as his power of persuasion is obviously better than mine. Bought numerous pairs of glasses from this business since 2006 NEVER AGAIN. So much for customer loyalty. This business spends heaps on advertising and can't be bothered to look after regular customers.

But when you find a dental practice that…read morehas spared no expense to have the very latest equipment to make sure your treatment is pain free and you have a perfect outcome, you have to take notice. But strangely that wasn't the most important thing. Everyone there genuinely cares about you the patient as if each person is very special, very important. They don't just want to fix the problem, they want you to be absolutely delighted with the end result. They are not happy unless the result is 100% perfect for you. I would recommend the dentists and staff at Prospect Family Dental to anyone and most of all I would like to say, "Thank you".
