I have a respiratory infecion like I've had many times before. I usually go to my primary care…read moredoctor, tell him my symptoms, and he prescribes a z-pac and it clears up in a day. I couldn't get in to see him (2 days before Christmas) so I went to express care. The guy wouldn't listen to me, said he wouldn't prescribe anti-biotics because it's viral. Next day I'm coughing up a constant stream of dark phlem - the usual bacterial infection. Now I'll have to go to the ER and hope I get treated by someone competent there, or spend Christmas in bed coughing my lungs out.

When I arrived, I was barely able to walk due to a fractured kneecap. I had to stand at the kiosk…read moreand check in. Once I sat down, I was sitting for at least five minutes, and one of the girls behind the counter asked me if I got a text message. I asked her for what. Apparently I had to enter everything in using my phone that I pay the bill for. Why do I have to help them do their job with a device that I pay for? Also, I provided a $50 co-pay in cash. That's what my insurance card said for urgent care. Six days later when I call in to get documentation and can't get assistance on the phone, the automated system says I have a $50 balance. Please explain this. I was in a lot of pain and was not thinking about getting a receipt. They also told me I had to put a card on file. That did not make me feel good. Especially with the interaction I had already had with them. Now I'm concerned that somebody may have not applied it to my account. The ladies at the front desk should know that they are the first person that people interact with when they come in. It's not a welcoming environment. The medical professionals in the back were very nice. It's just sad that the front desk has such lack of care/consideration. Just like when you call somewhere you can tell if someone is miserable at their job or not. Clearly they're just there for the paycheck and not for patient care. I hope they're never in my position where they need assistance and someone just doesn't care.

She took a lot of time to listen to the history of my condition, what tests had been done so far, and what various doctors have found (or not). Everyone on staff are extremely friendly, and seem completely dedicated and committed to a good patient experience. The wait time before the appointment is minimal, and usually only a few minutes, if that. They are busy, but extremely efficient, and I've never felt like I have been lost or forgotten about in the shuffle. They even remember specific unique needs that each patient has to be as comfortable as they can during their session. I have a very complicated issue that still has no specific diagnosis. I know that makes any physical therapist's job significantly more difficult. However, Hali is clearly committed to helping me, and always offers excellent advice and recommendations for following up on my medical issue with the various doctors I've been seeing. She has never given up on me, even though I know some doctors have. I have noticed she provides the same exceptional level of care to other patients in the room too. From my observations, everyone in the office who interacts directly with the patients are patient, caring, focused committed to helping their patients get better. I am extremely impressed with Pivot Physical Therapy in Mount Airy, MD, and I highly recommend them if you need them!

We have a right to be a well informed consumers. Put us together enough so it's not life threatening and send us on our way. Please stop treating us like drug addicts, we need help and cynicism. At your ER we're are indeed treated like an addict if your ask for pain meds. Attitudes there seem to be very cynical as if every patient just wants drugs and symptoms are just phantom pains and phantom issues. Pay attention Carroll. If all we wanted were drugs those are much cheaper and faster to buy on a street corner. We don't sit in the ER for hours on end and tolerate PA's cynicism just for pain meds. We're trying to tell you what's wrong but your part is to be a good listener. Pain is associated with many things so make us comfortable while we endure your testing and the time you take to figure it out. Please readjust your attitudes toward us. We need help and that's why we come there. We realize and have been told by you many times that your just dealing with life threatening injuries and issues. That your just going to do the minimum to get us back out the door. So please stop treating us like drug addicts and if we need something to ease our suffering then help us out without all the cynicism.
