I never thought that I would be treated horrible due to my appearance. I'm an African American Muslim woman. As soon as I was brought to the floor there was a white nurse who looked at me with a very disgusted look, at the time I noticed the look but, I was to worried about getting treatment for a very serious condition to give much thought to it. However, on 5/2/26 I had this same nurse her was Lorena from 2 south . She came in the room , stated her name and left out. Then she came back in ( the whole time with a very disgusted look on her face as if I was an annoyance to her). She came to give me meds and I asked a questioned about the meds , she instantly got a attitude, and walked out of the room while I was on a heart monitor and never came back in the room. I called for a different nurse and she blocked my request. She left me that way all night with no care. Thank God there was a tech by the name of Mia! She stepped in and help me. I was traumatized by this incident and was ready to leave . None of the Dr.'s addressed the issue of racism that could have caused a death. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE AFTER BEING IGNORED BY A UNPROFESSIONAL CAUCASIAN NURSE WHO WAS SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THE FIELD OF NURSING BY HER ACTIONS! SHE LEFT THE ROOM NEVER RETURNED TO MY ROOM EVEN AFTER THE MACHINES ALARMS WERE GOING OFF NEEDING TO BE ATTENDED TO! LAKENAU SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS WOMAN AROUND SICK PATIENTS WHEN SHE'S RACIST! SHE CAN CAUSE A PATIENT TO BECOME TERMINALLY ILL ! LAKENAU NEEDS TO HAVE HER INVESTIGATED! I'M WRITING THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE VERY SICK AND DYING PATIENTS ON THAT FLOOR, AND THEY ARE PEOPLES GRANDPARENTS, MOTHERS, FATHERS, SIBLINGS , AUNTS AND UNCLES! On the bright side I want to thank the KIND SOUL MIA for coming in and helping me! She was a TECH who acted better and showed a skill set of human kindness!

I met with the anesthesiologist I met with the nurse and then a little while later a doctor came in his name was Dr. Monjo Ahmed, first I need to tell you he was not the scheduled doctor for me. I don't know why the other doctor did not come in, but he said he was doing my procedure. He then proceeded to ask me if I had questions I said no I've been through this many times, he said OK sign here and walked out. That was the only time I saw this Dr I was a little bit nervous anesthesia gave me something to calm my nerves down and next thing I remember I was waking up in the bed and excruciating pain in my groin. I remember telling the nurse that I have a lot of pain and she said oh honey, it's just gas. I proceeded to tell her that it was not gas. I've had this done before this is worse than gas then she proceeded to grab my husband and bring him back. Help me get dressed while we were getting dressed. She then walks over with a wheelchair and says you're good to go that Dr never came in to talk to me afterwards never said anything. She proceeds to take me downstairs to the valet parking puts the brakes on the wheelchair and walked away. I was left there alone for about 10 minutes waiting for my husband to come with the car. My husband comes, then wheels me over to the car and I got up out of the wheelchair screaming crying in excruciating pain and I told my husband something is wrong. I don't know what's going on, but I am in a lot of pain there shouldn't be, so he said it took me about 20 minutes to get into the car from then on. I was at the ER three times. I was at many doctor visits trying to figure out what was going on the pain was getting worse I could not walk. I was pretty much bound to bed and in a chair. I could not work. I didn't know what was going on with me . It took me six weeks of begging the ortho doctor to do an MRI once I had the MRI results I was told that my pelvic bone was broken in two spots and this was most likely from the colonoscopy. The doctor said that they must've dropped me during the procedure . But in between the six weeks of waiting and trying to figure out what was going on, I did call Dr. Ahmed two times and asked him what happened to me during this procedure. He then said "nothing OK bye-bye" and then he hung up. He would not talk to me. He did not give me answers since then. My life has been hell I developed blood clots in my lungs. I was hospitalized. I am on blood thinners, which I've never been on before. All I did was go in for a simple procedure . I am so upset with this hospital. I've never been treated this horrible before I advise anybody go in there not to go! The worst part, is Jefferson's insurance company said I came in this way, which was a huge lie!

Now I really see the difference between being screwed by this hospital and other hospitals…read more As you may have ever had a heart attack about a month ago. I went to my local hospital at seven minutes away and was admitted to their ER where they did the stent and all that jazz. For my after care, I choose a cardiologist from Penn do the suggestion of my coworker who has had multiple stents put in. My cardiologist, Dr. Goldberg decided he wanted to do a Cath Lab to go in and take a look at the work that was done before he started to treat me common practice is when a stent is put in. They go back in and take a look, but that was not reflected in my records . No, it is hard to figure out where to go with this hospital being right in the heart of the city. There's a couple parking garages that you have to be careful of because they do not validate for the hospital. We actually chose one of those incorrect expensive garages. The lady at the admission desk was so kind. She went to her boss to make sure that we got validated at that other parking garage and we didn't end up having to pay anything. Even when they were taking my blood or give me IVs, you could tell the difference. Half the time I didn't even notice they were doing it until they were done. My other hospital, they kept me overnight and here it was an outpatient procedure and I was only there a few hours. And honestly, I did not feel nearly as messed up or in pain as I did from the first procedure. Everyone was so helpful in the hospital and made sure I was taken care of. Anytime I had to go to any part of the hospital. Somebody took me instead of just telling me where to go. When getting out they were so informative. They spent 20 minutes staying with us telling us how to take care of my arm at during the catheter. As well as what I could and could not do which was not relayed to me the first time. Everyone really took their time with us. And it was funny because later I was in the calf afterwards because I was really hungry after the surgery and the nurse that did my exit interview. Stop by the table and took a look at my arm again to make sure there was no swelling or any abnormalities

I pushed my call button 5 times before someone came to see me. The nurse said a doctor would come in and talk to me "in a few minutes " that was 20 minutes ago and no one talked to me. The lady on the phone this morning made it sound like it was life threatening. I guess if I die here at least they would have my organs for others since I'm a donor. absolutely ridiculous!!! just had surgery here and had 4 other surgeries here. besides Penn and Jefferson, there's no other hos I'd go to but today is absolutely ridiculous sitting here and WAITING,just Waiting. I don't know what else to say. I mean how life threatening is it for me to just lay here for 4 and a half hours. hopefully this helps someone out there as to which ER to go to

A starting point for a beloved family member, who never made it to Jefferson . . . This hospital was not clean (blood on the floor of a nearby room), the nurses (not the charge one, Dorothy) seemed like they had better things to do, and I don't feel that we were looked in on enough, after the horrific loss we had . . . We appreciated "Dr. K.," who was the last person to try to save "D," may God rest his soul. The doctor was caring (as could be, I suppose), explained the timeline very thoroughly and took his time with each of us. My only big highlight here was for the security team. We parked my SUV in a loading area because we'd never been here before and were out of our minds running in to find our family member who just passed minutes prior . . . We told the security guard (wish I remembered his name) and he happily said he'd move my car. THANK YOU!
