This deli used to make great sandwiches several years ago. The quality has really fallen off a cliff and the sandwiches are very very skimpy. I know inflation has hit all of these ingredients but just bake those into the price and give us something worthy of a NYC deli please.

a half eaten sandwich with an avocado

I have refrained from reviewing any establishment during the Covid pandemic, because people are trying to make ends meet and it's a crazy time. Well folks, there's an exception to every rule. In the past, I have come here for hang over breakfast sandwiches as an absolute last resort because the food is sub par. Breakfast sandwiches are the bane to the cooks existence , clearly. Eggs are always scrambled so make sure you clarify that you want them fried or cooked otherwise. If you ask for salt/pepper/ketchup BEWARE. I'm not sure if the cook is spiteful or just heavy with the ketchup, but he will soak your roll in ketchup to an inedible factor. Finally, and what lead me to this review, is today I'd decided to quickly make a stop and order a subpar breakfast sandwich with avocado. folks, please see the hilarious picture of the avocado in my sandwich. One side of it was too hard to eat, but fortunately I had the other half to eat...

Olive Oasis Deli and Grill is a few doors North of my apartment. I've been in here so many times…read moreand never wrote a review. If I try to go for lunch during the school year it's full of students. Since the checkout and register is by the front door it's not easy to do business. Now that it's summer, it's still busy with the hospital right across the street. You can see by my photos a lot of painters and construction workers eat here too. There's a wide variety of customers from the neighborhood. Word has spread that it's good, quick, and inexpensive! Since they are open 24 hours I go when the sun comes up. I usually buy coffee because it's good. The cashier has the coffee up front. It's easy grab and go. Today after my doctor appointment I came early and was the only one in line. I ordered a Chopped Cheese Beef on a roll with no tomato. It was done in no time. The man preparing the food is really nice. I took it to the front cashier and it's the honor system. I said what I had and he said $5. I got a small coffee too and it came to $6! So inexpensive! I told him I'll definitely be back. I took my bag home and spread it out to enjoy. It's huge! I could have saved half but it was so delicious I couldn't stop. I was disappointed in the amount of cheese! It would have been Five Stars if it was dripping with cheese! Next time I'll tell him extra cheese! I can't complain at ALL about the taste. The way the beef is prepared was delicious. I thought a chopped cheese had onions but there wasn't any onions. Before I get another one here I'm going to try the place north of here. Yelpers rave about their Chopped Cheese! I learned that Chopped Cheese Sandwich is a New York thing. (Google it) I think I'm sold!! I will definitely return to Olive Oasis and try other sandwiches. I'm over due for a grilled cheese with bacon! I'm recommending Olive Oasis! Everyone that works there is nice and they're open 24/7! It's well stocked and clean too.

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE TO EAT HALAL!!!!!…read more When I ordered falafel over rice at this deli/ halal. I just saw a rotten falafel at the deli counter. I was about to cancel my order, but it was too late. I'm afraid to eat it, I hope I won't go to metropolitan hospital for food poisoning. Additionally, the food from the deli counter looks fresh but the corner aren't clean. However, the deli looks clean and organized.

The bread displays at Milano have always drawn my attention. On one afternoon, my husband and I…read morefinally decided to try something from this market, namely, an item from the deli that we could pack for our Central Park picnic. There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day.

The staff is super nice and eager to help. It feels like a special neighborhood gem and you can really feel the family owned vibe. 1. Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. All were amazing and is a must try when visiting. absolutely rec when you're on the east side!
