After eating be sure to wonder around the vast gardens of Alexandra palace and grab a cake at the garden centre nearby. This is my favourite nearby place to bring my dog for walks.

And if you get hungry while browsing you can grab a little pie to eat there and then - I enjoyed my butternut squash & spinach, and my hubby devoured his chilli beef & cheddar before I could even snaffle some. If pie isn't your thing, there was also curries, toasted sarnies and all other sorts of goodies. They have a couple of bargain greengrocers, a meat specialist, a cake stand and even a Chinese takeaway stand (watch this one as I saw them pack the container with noodles and give just a little of the chicken on top - the favourite rip off tactics of this kind of stall). I browsed the stalls stopping at the bag stall, and especially the candle stall which filled the local area with the aroma of burning scents. Market is on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays. Worth a look although can be seen in about 15 minutes.

There's nothing "special" about this Farmers Market in terms of what kind of stalls are there: the usual stall selling bangers, a Middle Eastern food stall, Jamaican/Carribean food and of course fruit and veg stands, meats, and other delicacies...a paradise for the London Yuppie! The tricky part about this Farmers Market is that its location switches depending on whether or not there's something going on at the convention centre within Alexandra Palace: if that is the case, the parking lot - where the market typically takes place - is used for its intended purpose and the Farmers Market will be relocated to a nearby school yard. Prices are okay though. In the evening they offer the possibility to have a very nice "aperitivo", with a selection of the products. There's also an amazing chocolate and a Pistachio pastry that is light crispy and sweet. And a £1 each it's so worth getting, esp the latter. There are stalls selling fruit and veg, luggage, clothes, kitchen stuff, knock-off perfume and make up etc, but it's all cheap, which is fine if you're on a budget or if that's your thing, but it's not exactly fancy. I'm usually disappointed whenever I pass through, and to be honest with Westfield Stratford City only a short bus ride away, you'd probably rather check that out instead.

Regardless, it is incredible- there are roughly 500 stalls selling goods from fruit and vegetables, clothing, fabric and household goods. Nearby is the local town hall- an impressive neo-classical building- and the William Morris Gallery, which houses a large collection of Pre-Raphaelite works. Unfortunately, the Walthamstow dog track closed down last summer, which apart from the market, was my other main reason for visiting the area.

Had a huge meal with fresh juice, followed by a Colombain strong coffee. Than just enjoyed the vibe. Often pop in when passing. Top tip go on saturday for a hair cut, a meal, stock up on books, dvds, music for learning the language. Or just pop into for a coffee or frozen juice on a stick. They have absolutely everything that a Turksih Chef would need. My family shop here virtually everyday to get bread and other certain thing they might need for whatever is being cooked. For quantity, it is by no means competition for any large supermarket chains, but as for quality, it definitely is. It is a regular for me.
