This is a place where you can genuinely spend the whole day without a single whine of 'I'm boooorrred'. There are just loads of really good fun things to do here, nothing lame or boring and definitely something for everyone from babies up to early teens. You pay a fee of around £5 to park your car for the day and get access to the country park and you could in theory end your spending for the day there. You will have access to acres of woodland, beautiful gardens which the adults will appreciate and the kids will enjoy trampling through. There is a also a huge maze which the whole family will love and which you can oversee from a massive big wooden decking area. Also included is a fantastic park with a huge boat in the middle which can be explored and climbed on. All of that will pass a full morning or afternoon, but part with a bit more cash and you can do so much more. About 5 minutes walk away is where all the action is - there are trampolines, mini golf, bouncy castles, a bungee jump, remote control lorries and a mini railway, all of which are excellent fun. Now, each activity costs about £1.25, so you can see how you budget will soon spiral. It might be a good idea to tell the kids in advance that they can choose 2 or 3 activities and that's it. It works for me. Kind of. There are picnic tables with spots for portable BBQs and a proper BBQ area which you can pre book (and pay for) for large groups. There aren't that many picnic tables so get in early and stake your claim. Cut down on costs by bringing your own picnic, but there is a tea room and a little shop selling drinks, ice creams etc, so all options are covered. All in all, it's a fantastic place for a day out. The park is always clean and has lots to do as there is a huge green she can play football after and also a large path she can cycle around. I park at the side of the road so I can keep an eye on my car which is good. It's definitely worth a look even on a Saturday morning before it gets busy.

The pirate ship was a huge hit and while my 2 year old nephew was far too small for it, apparently just standing on it and turning the steering wheel provides ample entertainment. They also have two play park areas, one for older children and a great one for the younger. It was quite quiet so there was no fighting over the play area or swings. In addition, they have a full seat swing for children with disabilities which I thought was a great touch and I'm sure will be greatly appreciated by those who require it. Bring your own ball and you can use the dedicated football area. As an adult I would have loved a coffee to make this a top notch destination. Fingers crossed.

The beach itself stretches about 3 miles (when the tide is out) and makes a great place to walk the dog. You can let your dog off the lead here too, which they always love. The council have recently put some cash dollar in to a community garden and they are in the process of building a new drainage system. There's a nice play park too with a big pirate ship that lets kids keep watch for pirates sailing in the Irish Sea. With plenty of parking and great views it really does make for a nice walk even on a blustery autumn afternoon.

Theres a automatic toilet unit which is 20p to get in, it self cleans as I waiting on the door to open it said wait self cleaning, pretty cool for a toilet. The toilet has a baby changing table and automatic soap dispenser, water and air and automatic flush. Also the voice inside reminds you to lock the door and to bring all your belongings with you. Handy toilet. I think you have a 15 minute time allowance in the toilet as I saw a timer display for 15 minutes. The children's park has been changed and its way better theres a massive climbing frame, baby swings, slides and spinning seats. Really good park most of the ground around the slides etc have rubber flooring which is handy if baby falls. Theres also a picnic table in the play area. This park is great for a walk or a run theres also outdoor gym equipment for adults placed around the park in different areas.

Great wide flat path that is easy walking /cycling/wheeling for all. There is also a more sort of nature trail on the outside bank and on the inside islands. Views of Harland and Wolff are great. Also the airport to see the planes. The inside island has has outdoor gym equipment and grass pitches. They have a great kids park and also a basketball court beside it. There is a bmx track next to it. There's plenty of ducks etc to see. The parking is good also. My face thing about the park is that there is no way you can get lost as it's an easy loop to follow. There's also a gate with walking access at 2 points to the Sydenham bypass. There's another entrance via the new Sam Thompson bridge over by the docks.

This area can be a bit dodgy, so personally I'd stay away at night as I'd say it's probably frequented by the local hoods for their late night drinking sessions, but look on the bright side, go in the day and it's a gorgeous park. We should all try to help keep our local parks in good order and keep the vandals out. Glengormley isn't' maybe quite as nice as Hazelbank or the Cave Hill but it's great for those in the area to enjoy a bit of fresh air. Plus, the kids park has all sorts of amazing rides (I'm a big kid, I would know!) It also includes the following facilities; Toilets, Car Park, Dog Bin, Bowling Green, Pavilion, Walking Routes, Historic Feature, Picnic Area, Playground, Tennis Court and Basketball Court.

No, Glengormely Park is simply a green space in the middle of a pretty dreary village, designed to give the residents somewhere to go, and, to be fair, it does that pretty well. As the aunt of 4 children, I can honestly say that Glengormley Park is a childminders' dream. The play area is pretty well equipped and keeps the kids occupied for hours at a time. So, while it might not be spectacular, Glengormley Park provides a service - one for which I'm sure mothers all over are glad!

Although not impossible I as found out the hard way. - the ground is completely covered in those safe wood bark chipping thingies. No, I'm not that outdoorsy. - it has a wide range of stuff to jump on, swing off, climb up, slide down and bounce on which saves my furniture from all of the above. There is plenty to keep my 4 and 9 year olds amused and some benches for me to park myself on. No public toilets though but I have boys and there are plenty of trees. But be warned. Another tick in the 'convenient' box is the large car park right beside the park. The only negative? The sheer amount of dog poop on the short walk between the park and the car. Dog owners of Belmont be ashamed.

It has been voted the best small park for the past couple of years. I used to take my dog here at least once per week and he knew the way around. There are lots of other dog walkers and areas to play fetch. I have seen people jogging around and the occasional cyclist possibly cutting through from Parkway to the Old Holywood road. Starting from the car park on Massey ave/ Upper Belmont road you can follow the path accross the carriageway bridge follow this around to the right will bring you to the kids play area. The play area is enclosed and dogs are not permitted. It has baby swings, a flying saucer swing, slides, rockers and cool climbing frames. The paths are always clear and the grounds are well kept. Summer events take place in Belmont park occasionally.

The park also has a on site farm. The park has a drive through tour, which is a 5 mile paved road through many breath taking and beautiful views. Thers also many stopping points during the drive through tour, where you ma realx, take photographs and admire the scenery, go for picnics, go for a walk too. There is also a indoor exhibition centre and a souvenir shop too. Its also a great place for children.
