Yes, we are in the set of the 'known' customers, but I see the same friendly service given to the customers that are definitely not regulars, proven by the start of the conversation going, "Hi, I'm from (Fill in Random State) and I don't know how I got on this road. Can you help me?" Which I have heard a couple of times in there. It is a smaller, individually owned station that does not have the floor space for stock that other newer stores do. What is does have is our 2nd and 3rd reasons for keeping this the Store we go out of way to: It has a Young couple running it that wants to succeed and knows that happy customers are the only way behind that success. They eagerly take suggestions and implement all of those that are possible and feasible; in fact they ask for suggestions. They will stock what you will buy. If you want it, ask them to carry it. Their gas prices and store prices are always in line with what everyone else is charging, and for some items that we buy are cheaper. They have been making improvements to the store that were much needed in the last year that they took over the store for instance, The gas pumps that were often not working have been replaced with new pumps, the lot has been repaved, there is now a beer cooler, and they have added an ever increasing selection of drinks and snacks.

I did not have a return tank so with tax a "purchase" tank was $75. Once the tank was used, out of my own stupidity I assumed I could return the tank and get a refund for the tank itself since you can "exchange" tanks for $27 plus tax. Nope. They said I purchased the tank and I could exchange it but not get a refund for the tank. Propane tanks have a 12 year life span but the one they "sold" me expires in 4 years. Hmmmm. Parker's only contracts with Blue Rhino for the tanks and I could contact Blue Rhino and see if they would do a refund. On my receipt Blue Rhino is not mentioned anywhere - the only name on it is Parker's. Ok, so I'm stuck with an old tank. Then I go to Tractor Supply and buy a brand new tank so I have 2 tanks so I don't run out of propane in the middle of grilling. The brand new tank filled was $81. WHAT? Only $6 more than Parker's 8 year old tank. Several months later I had both tanks refilled at Tractor Supply for a shade less than $30. Wait! What? Approximately $15 a tank to refill vs $27 plus tax at Parker's for an exchange. The math was starting to add up really quickly. After looking around a little more, if you want to do tank exchanges instead of your own refills, there are certainly better deals at a major grocery retailer saving you $4-5 per tank. I like Parker's and buy approximately $300 worth of gas there every month because they are clean and convenient, but they certainly won't be getting my propane business. I also tried calling Parker's customer support line to discuss why they would not provide a refund for the 8 year old tank they "sold" me. Two calls, two no answer, two voicemails left as requested, and never received a return call. Customer support? You decide.

There are four car washes in this city that I frequent regularly. They all have their pros and…read morecons. One does a fairly decent job, the waiting area is nice and clean, and the employees actually wear UNIFORMS, BUT they're just a little overpriced (IMO), and the cashier has a stinky attitude and - because I have to break all the speed limits to get there before they close - it's just not worth wanting to punch someone out because they're snarky; another is convenient because it's on the way home and they do a fairly decent job; I actually LIKE their cashier, and their waiting area is super clean. BUT too often I have to check behind their guys to make sure they did a good job before I dole out the tip, and I don't think they quite understand that it's not a good idea to clean the windshield with the same cloth used to shine the tires (smears, galore ; / ). And yet another does a fantastic job for the money (which is steep), and maybe it's psychological, but my car practically purrrs after I get it cleaned there. BUT their waiting area is the size of a postage stamp, seating is very limited, and chivalry is dead. All of that leads me to Xtra Klean. They aren't exactly on my way home (just a little out of the way). Their waiting area is a little shabby and wreaks of the loudest of loud, obnoxious, fruit-scented (???) air freshener....BUT, they are very affordable (the better to leave a more generous tip), and the staff and proprietor are super-friendly and respectful. The guy who cleans your car takes his time, so be prepared to wait. If you can stand the waiting area, there's tv, but there's also seating outside if you're about that life, and if the weather is favorable.

I'm thankful for the nice detail and cleaning on my car today! Auto Shine is an automated car wash with employees ready to vacuum and prep at the beginning and towel and detail once the car is washed. There are 4 levels of car care that are priced accordingly.

I stop down the road at this location for fuel and I bought water and Ice without incident. It is a gas station so you pay for the convenience, but at least they had what I needed. Not sure how many times that I will stop here but the owner's daughter seemed friendly and greeted me, rang me up and on my way. We laughed at the panic of people during the oncoming Hurricane and shared that laugh. I bet you would be happy with your visit when you make it to this location.
