The breakfast is the same sad egg folded w/oily cheese, burnt sausage patties, & underdone potatoes. On the weekend the staff start closing shop at 915a instead of the promised 930a. They will not clean your room unless you ask 24h ahead. No laundry center & no suggestion of one either. There is ONE microwave in the lobby for the ENTIRE HOTEL. Pantry is a joke with no diet drink ever. Staff is nice but seriously underwhelming in solving anything. The free all day water & coffee does not make up for no closets, door noises, & the continuous marijuana smokers they serve.

If you are uptight or want fine dining everynight, I'm sure there is somewhere in Manhattan that can suite you (which by the way is easily accessible from here). Brooklynites are great, i love the diversity. Similiar to the diversity here in Seattle. We stayed in The Vanderbuilt. Beautiful apt, everything we needed, and had tons of charm. The room was clean, and bright. We had 3 large windows in our room facing the garden, which is great because I love having natural light. For people complaining about walking too much, your in NY hello?! New York is a walking city, and really in comparison to Seattle which has tons of hills, New York is easily walkable. The way you are going to experience the real New York is to walk, ride trains, and eat local food. But really the subway is a five minute walk away...we used the Q train to get into city. Anyway I couldn't ask for a better place in Brooklyn. We loved it, and hope to come back soon. Easy walk to restaurants, BAM, and parks. We walked to the Brooklyn Promenade nearby. Great view of the city and Brooklyn bridge. Only downside, we have kids, and unfortunetly so kids allowed (mine are 3 and 7). Bummer is next time we go to NY we will want to bring kids. I'm going with 2 because of the breakfast situation. I stayed in the O'Neal room with my friend while I was in town from the West Coast for a wedding, and was impressed with how spacious the room was. It was tastefully decorated. No tv, phone, or clock. There was air conditioning--and since it was 90 degrees outside AND I'm a wuss from the Pacific Northwest, I was super excited about this. The two single beds were decent. The shared bathroom was clean and HUGE (possibly the size of my last studio apartment!). There was plenty of hot water with decent pressure. I was not impressed with the IKEA towels, nor the plastic shower curtain taped to the shower walls (what was with that?? until condensation built up, it kept floating up and sticking to my legs: not my favorite sensation). I had looked all over the place for an affordable place to stay over the 4th of July weekend: impossible in NYC!! Prices went up by at least $10 a person at any hotel, and this was no exception. In spite of this, this place was the most affordable and closest to Prospect Park, where the wedding was. However, when there was a possibility that a third person might stay with us--we were told that it would have been another $50/night for them to sleep on the floor. This seemed very excessive, so the friend opted to go elsewhere. Also, the term "Bed & Breakfast" is apparently relative, and dependent on the day. You have to pay an extra $10/day for breakfast (IMO, breakfast should be included for a B&B), and let them know the night before--it's also served when they get moving, not on your schedule. I tried for breakfast the first day, but was told there was no luck as I would've been the only taker. This SUCKED, as there is no real breakfast place within reasonable walking distance. There is a decent coffee shop with pastries about 3 blocks away, but this I discovered on my own, much later in the day. The second day, after my friend arrived, I did score breakfast, which was delicious--fritatta accompanied by fruit, rolls, and collard greens. Totally worth $10. Now, if only you could count on it. Now that I'm typing, I just remembered this incident, which was weird. I'd come home in the middle of the day to rest up before wedding festivities (like I said, it was HOT!!), and heard Mark knock on the room next to mine, and then, when nobody answered, heard him show the room to somebody. I don't know if they were thinking about renting long-term or what. He then knocked on mine, and then apologized for disturbing me when I answered and moved on. Was he going to show my room, with all of our stuff in it, to some random person if I hadn't been there??? I was totally not cool with that. Though it was advertised as such, this place is not really convenient to anywhere. Another friend and I had to walk about an hour to find a drink--not bad, but not what we bargained for. If you like roti, bad Indian or thai food, you're in luck. Otherwise, you're better off taking the subway to Manhattan, of which a convenient stop is not too far away. In total, if you're looking for an affordable, basic, but nice place to stay for no more than 2 people, and don't plan on eating or doing much within walking distance, this will work beautifully for you. Friday- Upon arriving at Delz Bed and Breakfast, there was A/C in one room, and no A/C in the other room (there was only a fan in the room without A/C). It was hotter in the room than it was outside in the hot summer. Additionally, we were met with a surprise in our kitchen - It was a mouse We were forced to barricade our rooms with pillows to block the mouse from coming inside. Saturday- There was a lot of food in the fridge for breakfast. However, the food was expired and had not been replenished for two years! And to our disgust, we found expired milk and other foods left all around the kitchen and fridge. And to think it couldn't get any worse, there was an unidentified stain on the kitchen counter. Gross! The bathroom had exposed windows and used toiletries (were we supposed to use those?) The floor was not clean, the bathroom mat looked moldy, and I almost had to physically and forcefully yank the door off its hinges in order to get out of the bathroom (Essentially if you were there by yourself, you could be locked in the bathroom for long periods of time... Neat, huh?). The toilet was clogged at one point, and the host was completely unresponsive to our request. The WiFi in this facility is NONEXISTENT. A password was provided to us, and it still didn't work (the WiFi dropped 5 minutes after we checked in) Also, there was no working light in the kitchen, forcing us to use our phone flashlights to find things in the kitchen. Just as we thought we were getting used to the place, I took a seat on one of the chairs. I immediately saw my legs in the air. Lo and behold, the chair was broken! In fact, 2 out of the 4 chairs found in the room were broken. What fun! Sunday- Sunday was the day in which we had to check out of this facility. There were no clear instructions for checkout, and the host was not responsive to any of our calls. We were forced to leave the keys under the mat outside the place, and the host did not respond to any of our calls until 5 hours later (she responded AFTER we checked out). All in all, this was a poor experience. PLEASE do not trust the reviews you see.

The subway is just four blocks from the location into Manhattan. We were a 20 minute drive to Coney Island. We even chose to stay an additional night. The staff was on point and very helpful. We booked this hotel and saw that check-in was four hours later than we needed. We called the Airbnb host and explained the exact situation hoping for some human decency and were told that they would not offer early check-in and would not allow us to cancel the reservation without paying the full price. Their reasoning that they gave was that it "would not be fair to the other tenants." Already in a bad position, we decided to suck it up and wait until 4:00 to head over to the unit. This was presented on Airbnb as an apartment, but is clearly a hotel, and a seedy one at that. The exterior is poorly lit and feels like a dangerous place to be. Upon entry, the floors were sticky and the common areas were poorly maintained. Once we entered the room, we found that the floors remained sticky but were now accompanied by a musty, mildew smell which indicates to us that the unit is either unclean or not well maintained. Overall, this felt like it took a bad situation and made it worse. We normally would not leave a poor review, but we felt compelled to let others know about the uniquely poor experience we had at this location. I understand that a policy is a policy and the mistake of booking this unit was ours, but there are human beings on both side of this transaction and we were left feeling a pretty blatant lack of humanity in the face of very unfortunate circumstances.

The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The hotel is located near a shul, grocery store, metro and every store I needed. I asked if it would still be the same cost since I could not check in on time and there was not discount for having to wait over 7 hours after check in time. I called about 5-6 pm to see when I could check in and there was a suite, for an additional cost, that I could check into immediately. When I asked about late check out, it was $75-$95 extra charge. So no discount for not being able to check in on time, immediate check in if I paid extra for another room, and additional charge to check out any later than 11am. The room was not spectacular but comfortable. There was liquid soap that leaked and was all over the sink and in the tub. It did leak during my 3 night stay so makes me question when the room was last cleaned. There was no iron or hair dryer in the room. Breakfast was sufficient. Very accommodating if you have dietary restrictions due to religion. The water cooler was not functioning. One of the nice workers in the dining room asked me to wait a little while to have a second lady correct the problem. The second lady who was preparing food "in the back" with her bare hands didn't appear to have any intentions to correcting to problem so after five minutes (when the second lady went to the fridge to get a new head of lettuce) I decided to just go down the street and buy a bottle of water. I wish I had the accommodating service the previous reviewer had but can't say I did. I will not be returning.

The building is well maintained and clean. The apartment was spacious and cozy. The train was just a few minutes walk. which was the best I saved so much on transportation. I would 100% recommend.
