Some friends and family stayed at both locations listed under the name Park Slope Inn last year for a wedding. Per the website photos, the great tripadvisor reviews and proximity to my home, it all seemed like a no-brainer. Sadly, this B&B is not all that it appears to be. The 12th street location has leaky walls, shoddy plumbing and a waterbug problem. The 4th street location had dirty sheets and constant construction noise. The owner was very apologetic but did not budge on reducing the price for our party since it was all paid in advance. It was a sour note to an otherwise splendid occasion. There was also a terribly awkward experience with the sole maid/housekeeper for both locations. My cousin had left tip on the pillows after the first night and asked the maid if she found it was 'reasonable' and she responded that there was no tip. They went back to the room and searched the whole bed but the five dollars were missing. The maid noted that her tips often went "missing" if the innkeeper was around before her shift started. A couple of other family members left tip on their nightstands but found it missing when they returned from breakfast - room untouched by the maid. The following morning, we all noted that management was very eager to see everyone out the door every day so we collectively decided to leave our final night's tip under the bath towels. It's of no surprise to find the hotel is actually illegal according to the Department of Buildings website. It was overall a very bizarre and offensive experience. read more

When I wrote to ask about availability, Marcie responded that she had two rooms, which could accommodate our group of five. We were excited! Unfortunately, when I immediately responded, asking for pricing and stating I would like to book the rooms, she became non-responsive. I called the following day, and left a voicemail. The call was never returned. Five days later, I wrote another email, asking why I never received a call nor an email. Marcie responded with, "I no longer have the space at our Center Slope location... Sorry, for the delay in responding, I thought I had gotten back to you already." Shady management, avoid. My parents reserved a room at the 4th St Park Slope Inn to visit their grandkids. They put down a $150 deposit. The manager then wrote to tell them that she made a mistake (we have the emails) and that the room they selected was not available. Instead, she said, they could stay on 12th St which is much further from our house. When my folks decided to cancel the reservation, instead of her solution that added 8 blocks to the (snowy) walk, she refused to return the deposit even though she admitted that the booking mistake was hers. Absurd and unprofessional. Disappointing for a local resident that tries to buy local whenever I can. read more

Booked a room at the center location. Getting someone to take my deposit was a bit of an ordeal, but it got done. Several weeks later I get an email that the center location is no longer operating, but I can have an apartment at their south location for the same price as the room. I say fine. Next day, I get an email that says no apartments are available after all and my reservation is canceled. Now I'm scrambling for a room with many of my previous options booked up. Turns out the building was under contract and they continued to take reservations they couldn't fulfill. read more

This is a very nice place: clean, quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced, in a hip, happening area, with lots of amenities. Marcie, the owner, is attentive and responsive, and the room was looked after daily by housekeeping. I don't understand the bad reviews. They are completely unwarranted. However, it should be noted that, for some reason, this place often shows up on the Internet as a bed & breakfast. It is not. But good breakfast stuff is within a block and there is a nice kitchen and dining area at the inn. read more

The Park Slope Inn is one of the best deals around if you are coming to New York. It is clean, charming, comfortable, and quiet. The price is so much more reasonable than any other inns or hotels. It's located in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn, a short walk from two subway stations that can take you into Manhattan. Around the corner are numerous great restaurants, bars, coffee places, and shops. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. We stay here 2-3 times a year; every time we visit our children in Brooklyn. We've stayed at both locations, in various room types and have found all of them excellent. We will continue to choose Park Slope Inn for our lodging every time we visit. read more
