The owners are very welcoming and last Christmas we were greeted with yule tide joy wine, mice pies and chocolate snowmen for the children. As a holiday cottage, Gladwins is set in the perfect location with plenty to see and do in the local area. The beach isn't far away, you can take a trip to see Colchester castle or just enjoy the beautiful countryside. Even in the dead cold of British winter Gladwins makes a perfect holiday home. I loved it and I'd highly recommend it to anyone else.

During booking it says sister park is (just down the road), "IT'S NOT", it's 0.8 of a mile away…read moredown one road turn left & down that road, not good if you've got small children with you, I would never have booked it otherwise, the first night we went on our 1.6 mile round trip walking obviously as we would like to have a few drinks, we left at 9.00pm & as we walked my wife & 6yr old son were hit by a car, my son is fine thankfully, but my wife spent 9 days in hospital with spinal injury's & internal bleeding, 28 pounds twice a day for taxis to Ipswich hospital, on the morning we where due to move out my sixteen year old son was waiting for myself to return from London with transport to collect my belongings, I was 1hr late so the management called to police to remove my son from the park, after I collected my son I confronted the staff as to why, all I got was "it didn't happen on our property and the police would be called if didn't leave, the caravans on this park are infested with mold, the staff are not trained to deal with customers in a civilized manner, I paid 389 pounds for this nightmare of a holiday park, just book thru haven holidays or park resorts you should be ok, during the accident my wife's purse was stolen as the Contents of her bag was all over the road, horrible situation that I wouldn't wish on anyone.
