I just haven't had time to go and it looks like life will be busy for me until next January, so I am canceling my membership. When I called the business office to ask if I could put my membership on hold for a few months, the lady who answered the phone was rather rude. I asked about pausing my membership and she said in a harsh rather scolding tone that I couldn't cancel a membership over the phone but would have to go in. I told her I didn't ask about cancelling but pausing. She said there's no pausing, again in a harsh tone. I might join again when I have more time. I had been told a couple of years ago that I could pause for a couple of months. I guess they changed that policy.

Glaring discrepancies: - the men's bathroom stalls don't stay locked efficiently and have a peek-a-poo gap you can use both eyes to see through. They'll spend money on fake plants, yet won't fix what's needed (this applies to other issues as well) - so far this summer, the outside "hot tub" is either disgusting, jets don't work, flooded with kids under 12 (there's a rule against that), or it's closed off - when it's busy, you'd swear no one in the greater Tulsa area is going to any other gym at that moment - it's succumb to the "Premium" disease. Some things you can't do unless you pay more - and a general membership is already pricey - if you want to play pickleball - good luck. They change the schedule of when the courts are available for whatever types of players. If it's free play, you might end up waiting awhile before you play again. There's only 3 courts. Here are key measures: Install a Pool Fence A secure fence is essential. It should be at least four feet high with no gaps wider than four inches. Ensure the gate is self-closing and self-latching, with the latch out of reach of children. The fence should completely enclose the pool area, separating it from the house and play areas. Adopt a Safety-First Mindset Maintain Adult Supervision Active supervision is crucial. Assign a responsible adult to watch the pool at all times. Avoid distractions and ensure young children and inexperienced swimmers are within arm’s reach. Teach Pool Safety and Swimming Skills Educate children about pool safety and ensure they learn how to swim. Enroll them in swimming lessons early and teach them the importance of following pool rules. By implementing these measures, you can significantly reduce the risk of drowning and create a secure environment for your loved ones to enjoy the water safely. I've been pretty busy these last few months, and haven't had as much time to come here as much, but…read moreI've got a bit more free time again and have made my way back. The main difference that I've noticed (and I guess the reason for this update) is that the staff doesn't seem as interactive. And I kind of mean this in a good way? They used to have workers stand in the entryway upstairs, at the top of the straits landing between the two sections of workout equipment. This always felt a little awkward to me, like they were just watching everyone exercise (which was their job, so they were) and it was probably weird (and super boring!) for them too! It was nice that they were more available for any questions/ issues that way though. Now I'm not sure where they are? So maybe something between those two ways would be good... I'll also say that a few months ago, the staff was always super welcoming when coming in and leaving the building. Recently, I haven't really seen as much of that. Honestly I'm not sure if I miss that, or if I'm cool with just being able to walk in and just kind of stay to myself and go on with my way lol. I guess again, maybe something in between would be good. I think maybe one reason for this is that everyone knows how to use their cards or their phones to check themselves in, so there's less of a need to have someone right there at the door all the time, to be fair. Not gonna change my star rating even though there are some changes, just because I feel like the differences are more neutral in my eyes. Not necessarily better, or worse, just differences! I just wonder if these were intentional changes or not...?

The pools are virtually unusable. If you take a tour and they try to give you the line that the therapy pool is around 95 & the regular pool is about 86, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! The heaters have been broken for MONTHS now. That's right, I said months. The temp today was 76 in the therapy pool & 78 in the main. Even when they were working, the temps would range wildly. They were never the same temp twice. The therapy pool could be 83 one day and over 100 a few days later. They. Just. Don't. Care. They refused to add proper chlorine to the pools for months as well. It took repeated calls to the health dept to get them to FORCE them to get it up to level. "Oh, how bad could it be?" you ask. The proper level is supposed to be 7.2. The therapy pool was .2 to .5. For MONTHS. That is very dangerous & unhealthy. They were cloudy all the time and smelled. The saunas were down for a long time. I was told there was black mold in the ladies locker room one for a very long time, but even at that, they refused to fix it. Or CLOSE IT! Even with black mold. The showers were broken for over a year before they got fixed despite dozens of requests to fix them. It was not a complex plumbing issue, it was REPLACING A SHOWER HEAD!! Get the picture? They care about your money, not you. Then they will not spend any to keep things fixed. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up, but if you ever have a problem, you are all the way out of luck. So if you believe the "C" in "YMCA" stands for "Christian" - nope. WWJD? Care enough about people to keep things fixed.
