It's also a great way to get together with old friends throw some balls around and catch up during otherwise busy lives. The league so far has Volleyball, Kickball, Softball, Football, Dodgeball, Bowling, Cornhole, Basketball, and the occasional bar crawl. The commissioner has put together a league geared more towards fun and friends vs strict and overly competitive. They have made everything very approachable and are always looking to make sure games are well run. And the refs always make the games fun and fair in accordance with FSS rules. So if your looking to get out there, be active, but most of all have a great time this is the league for you.

I think I tried to get people together, and I just wasn't committed enough... plans fell through. So I forgot about it... until a friend said she was celebrating her birthday and this was the activity. I jumped for joy in anticipation of the outing. Our group arrived with plenty of time... and once our time slot was up, they let us put our jackets and pocket contents in little cubbies. Dodgebow is literally dodgeball with arrows. The bows are so easy to draw, and the arrow tips are soft and foamy. Having been a dodgeball team captain recently, AND already enjoying basic archery, it was my time to shine. We had a couple of practice rounds hitting targets and getting a feel for the field. It had inflatable obstacles to hide behind, and there were targets on the opposite end where we could revive our teammates. It was such a fun time, and I'm either considering this location or the other one for my birthday. I cannot wait until the next time! Oh, by the way, the staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions we had.

We started with practice and training - staff was clear and helpful with their directions. Then, the games begun! Different games throughout the reservation, and fun music played to make it extra fun! The space is clean and neat, and we had a fantastic time! I'm a fan, and I'm coming back. WAIT! ONE MORE THING! You can get a photo package, and they'll take pics/short videos of you and your group playing. I get to have a good time, and keep the memories!

It's the best sport ever invented, seriously. I've been to many Dutchland bouts and it is always an absolute blast. They play hard put on a great show. They raffle off neat stuff and have fantastic halftime entertainment. Once I saw Joe Jack Talcum of the Dead Milkmen perform an acoustic set during halftime! For realz! Also, make sure you head to the afterparty when the bout is over, the skaters are dancing machines and party animals and all around awesome hanger outers. Definitely worth the trip all the way out to Lancaster.

This is more unorganized than 5th grade recess kickball. There are a ton of rules that don't get…read moreenforced; not only do you pay to play in the league ($55/person) but you pay for "refs" that don't know half the rules, blatantly play favorite, make sexist/rude comments/jokes, and sometimes don't even pay attention and admit it. We've had some nasty weather and the league doesn't make decisions until the last minute, which shows no consideration for people that have to drive here from further than 30 mins away. Once, in a downpour, they still had games and then got all sassy and told us to wear cleats when I expressed my concern. As a team, we paid over $700 (not including the stupid money to pay the "officials") and I feel this is a SCAM. Not only did we pay all that money, they JUST cashed my $450 check weeks after I gave it to them. Not cool AT ALL. I will 100% only participate in Baltimore Social leagues from now on. There is also a Fed Hill division, but I'm pretty sure it's the equivalent to the minor leagues when compared to the professional level of play that happens at Patterson Park. I should mention that this is separate from the BSSC. The KLB have both Spring and Fall leagues. Once the season starts, dozens of teams embark on Patterson Park to play intense games of kickball, and maybe drink a beer or two in the process. I'll be honest, people play to drink beer outside, plain and simple. Make sure you hit up one of the sponsor bars after-wards, either Looney's or Sharkeys, for drink specials. Minus one star because Coors Light is the main sponsor and I hate Coors light.

The locker room is clean and well-kept and they even have a family changing room which comes in so clutch for my husband and my daughter. The total cost for an afternoon of fun is approximately $40 for a family of four, which is a total steal. Add in a trip to the nearby Chick-fil-a and you are in kid heaven. They also host birthday parties for a fraction of the cost of places like Chuck E. Cheese or Scramble.
